Wow. Well I must say this video and the troubleshooting video has solved my issues and getting the knack of doing this. I'm wizzing through making my cord. I just now got to get the knack of threading the wore through 😬 I've used ricorumi cottton yarn and dk yarn which has a matalic thread in it. I got the hang of it with the ricorumi just as I was telling my self this is the last type of wool I will try, as it was getting expensive for me. But its just once you understand to have have weight on it and the tension of the yarn to freely feed through. Then remembering to move the weight up as you go along (if your sitting down) and the odd occasional tug to pull it tighter, if you see it building up a bit. Definitely look for the troubleshooting video on this channel! Thank you #mindfullcraftsxxx
This helped me quite a bit with troubleshooting how to start the thread! Thanks! In terms of yarn, I've seen some lovely 4/8 and 8/8 hobbii yarns but not sure which of these would work best or even which is comparable to the Ricorumi DK. Any suggestions?
Aaaah! No worries, glad it helped. I’ve done another one on our channel, it’s getting it going that’s the trickiest bit. Once it’s going it’s a doddle isn’t it?! Please subscribe for more tutorials x
Can you please confirm if this knitting mill can produce thicker or thinner cords? Or would you simply use heavier or lighter weight yarns to create desired cord thickness
Hi, would these keep bending? Like if I was to post it as a gift would it be a bit bent when received? I've always wondered this, might be a silly question. I wondered if you 'block' the work as you would in knitting
Hi! When the yarn tangles for some reason at the part where the hooks are, I detangle & I have to take it all off the hooks, how do I reattach the cord back properly to continue working with it? Because It happened, and I had to frog the whole cord and remake it again.
Do all the needles have the hooks on, 2 machines I’ve brought have been missing 1. I’m assuming this is why the wool has been getting stuck round the edges 😰
Hi! We stock them in our website www.mindfulcrafts.co.uk However, we’re having difficulty getting them in at the moment due to border controls. Fingers crossed that we will have them soon x
@@mindfulcrafts thank you so much :) Sorry if this is a silly question. Do you think 4 ply cotton would work? Like Hobbii Rainbow 4/8 cottons? Would love to try making one for my daughter but are in lockdown and hard to source items as I can’t go instore.
Thank you for the video and replying. I've followed your tutorial and troubleshooting to the letter and I still can't get my yarn to go through the centre, its still wrapping around the outside. I'm stumped
@@valentinabubnjar440 I was just coming to ask about thicker wire. I've been working with 1.5mm and it's easy to work, but also makes me wonder how well it'll hold it's shape over time. Any videos of your working with the thicker wire?
Could I pick your brain please? How would you hang these? The obvious thought that jumps to mind is balanced on hooks, or on nails? But what if you wanted it attached better? Thankyou 😊
I'm so glad I finally found this video!
Thankyou so much for this video. It took a while but this really helped.i am just starting out😊

Aaaaaah, brilliant! Thank you so much for the feedback. It’s great to hear that you’re wizzing through now. I’d love to see what you make! 😊

Thanks this was really useful
What type and size wire do you use. I'm struggling to find some. Thank you. Great video.
Is there a difference in craft wire and the wire you buy in the hardware store??
Hi, can you change the colour of yarn half way through with this mill? Thank you 😊
Can you please confirm if this knitting mill can produce thicker or thinner cords? Or would you simply use heavier or lighter weight yarns to create desired cord thickness
Really interesting! What gauge wire do you use, and where do you purchase it?
Love this video :) Could you let me know what make your scissors are please?
Hi! They are Fiskers Razor scissors ✂️

Same question here
I myself would pack it on a little bit stiff cardboard . So it won't bend so much 😅... x
❤! Thx do you have the link for this kit? I would also love to see you make a rug😁
Love this, does your kit on website come with the peg?
Hi, yes it does 😊

Hi. Thanks for the video. Where did you buy the rico set?
Hi! We stock them in our website www.mindfulcrafts.co.uk
However, we’re having difficulty getting them in at the moment due to border controls. Fingers crossed that we will have them soon x
Looking at some of these absolutely draft questions, which many are so obvious... I doubt many have chance of even dressing themselves
What is the small machine called at the beginning please x
What mm wire do you use? Great tutorial 👌
Hi! It’s 1.5mm craft wire 😊
Where did you buy the mill?
How thick is the yarn? Thanks :)
Hi, it’s DK yarn, I used ricorumi in this video x
May I know the brand of your knitting mill? Thanks .
I can’t seem to thread the wire through the middle. It is constantly going through the side. Is there any tips you can give me?
Is this once you’ve made the cord and you’re bending it to shape? Turn over one end and then just guide through with your hands
If you end up with a length of cord which is too long, how can you shorten it?
Hi! You can cut it, then carefully get the yarn and sew it in. Hope that makes sense x
Hi. Could you send me the link of where to buy this kit please 😊
Hi! Here’s the link, many thanks 😊 www.mindfulcrafts.co.uk/product-page/knitting-mill-wire-words-kit
Hello! Can you please confirm what size wire it is. Some of your replies say 1mm but another recently said 1.5mm. Thank you :)
I use either. 1mm is fine but, 1.5mm makes them just that little bit sturdier. Hope that helps xx

Can you use normal knitting wool?
Hi, you can, as long as it’s DK (double knitting) yarn. Any thicker and it won’t go through smoothly 😊
@@mindfulcrafts thank you, that's what I have but the wire keeps poking out in places. I have 0.4mm wondering if its to thin?
@@lizstokes9488 hi! Yes, I’d say it’s too thin. I use 1mm craft wire 😊
@@mindfulcrafts ok that's great thank you very much x
Hello do you ship to Australia? Where can I buy one ?
What size wire do you use please?
1 or 1.5mm
What kind size/gage is the wire please
Hi, it’s 1mm aluminium craft wire 😊
Hello, my yarn doesn't come out from the bottom, any idea why ?
lol 😂worst case of camera work but we get the point.
Hello, does 1.5mm wire is stable?
Yes
What’s the thickness of the i cord?
Hi, what thickness is the yarn? X
Hi, this is DK. I use Ricorumi x
Hi mine keeps wrapping on the outside of the hooks instead of going down the middle. Can you help please xx
It’s just a matter of practise and perseverance!I have done another troubleshooting video on our channel 😊

What is the thickness of the yarn? And what kind is it please?
It’s DK and I use Ricorumi 🧶😀
may i know how thick the wire you use?
I'm really struggling to get this to work, it just keeps winding up on itself......my weight is at the top and my ball of wool is loose.
Can you use worsted weight yarn?
I haven’t used anything thicker than dk as it won’t go through freely x
Hello, from where can we buy this machine please ?
can you tell me the name of the machine plz?
Product link please
Can someone help me with the right cord to use
I have loads of trouble with the letter P
Has anyone found a way to not have the wire poke through the ends?
Just sue it through the wire loop at the end (multiple times). This video is pretty bad lol, I work with 1.8 mm iron wire, that’s the real deal.
