Because the prescription opioid "crisis" forces people with chronic pain into the street for relief, then end up with something with fentanyl in it, fentanyl killed my sister and because of serious injury I live with terrible chronic pain and my Dr was forced to scale down my prescription and I get NO relief, chronic pain WILL change who you are, I'm angry now a lot, SO sad!!!
Im getting their with my leg, everyday i can feel myself getting angry more and more so I just distance myself, because i dont want others to misunderstand me. I refuse to be medicated with prescription meds, it takes strength. My brother OD'd on fentanyl, so my heart goes out to you. I was almost addicted with my leg, but then that happened, that and growing up with a father who took a handful of prescribed meds three times a day because Doc said to.
Thank you, thank you thank you. I've been treated for chronic pain related to neuromuscular disease for 25 years. Over that time it's been increasingly difficult to get medication. I've gone through opiate withdrawal 3 times this years because I couldn't get my meds. And, every new doctor sees me first as a criminal. We must have reform protecting the suffering innocent.

I don't overuse my prescriptions, it going to get prescription filled and finding the pharmacy is out of stock because the DEA has put a limit on the amount the pharmacy can order monthly. And my coverage only covers meds from their Contacted Company 😠😠😠😠

I’ve dealt with severe pain from an issue in my head for twenty years. Last year, NY made a law punishing law abiding people who use pain meds responsibly and safely, and they drastically cut the amount of meds providers were allowed to prescribe them. This did absolutely nothing to stop illegal drug use….it’s so frustrating to not be able to get what I need to have a decent standard of life when I’ve done nothing wrong.
Pain medication was handed out like candy for years. Junkies abused it, were dropping like flies so the government punished the people in pain who really need the medications. OK! Sounds like something government would do!
@ufoguyspaceman A fairly easy approach is controlling one's heart rate, and breasting rate,leads to blood pressure control.. and BP often has a great deal of affect on any sense of pain especially in the head/brain which is very sensitive to BP.
Used to use it on the good looking nurses taking BP.. as... it opened questions to other biological controls of the body one has... ONLY.. the good looking Nurses.

Greg is silly, but this intro is so important! The mixing of street drug deaths with prescription medicines for pain is extremely dishonest, and harms chronic pain sufferers every day.
I was on Oxy for years for horrendous pain. It allowed me to live a normal existence. Then they Feds targeted it and harassed every doctor over prescribing it. UofP even closed their pain research department.
I had to go off it when even pharmacies refused to carry it.
Today I am severely crippled by the pain and immobilized.
Thanks so much mainstream media and Feds. What a wonderful accomplishment.
The mixing of prescription drugs and illegal drugs is an issue, not a small one, your comment is bias/not based on facts. An even bigger issue is the mixing of alcohol with prescription drugs, and toxicity reports prove it. Ive had many surgeries, pain pills, and all those other things they put you on are not the answer. I suggest going to a state that allows cannabis use and using that. The prescription drugs are great for post surgery but after being torn apart 5 times, Im finally living life the way I should, NOT on those drugs they recommend.
Fraudulently obtained prescription drugs are something that exists and are used by recreational drug users.

Thank you so much for pointing out that law-abiding citizens who need medicine for pain are not the people abusing and overdosing on opioids. Thank you, thank you! Please say this more, report on Fox more about this. Some of us are being told by our doctors that we just have to suffer, or are being turned away entirely. I'm crying right now because of chronic, crippling pain that goes terribly under-rated, and affects not only my quality of life, but my whole family's.
As a nurse we are taught that most “drug seeking behaviors” are actually caused by undercontrolled pain. Yet, I see so many nurses and doctors being cruel to people who are obviously in pain.

It's insane the hoops chronic pain patients have had to jump through and it's been getting worse and worse for many years. Long are the days when they were just "handing it out" now there are so many people checking on scripts nobody wants to fill them.

That one guy is wrong. The counter-argument to drugs being illegal isn’t, “but alcohol is legal.” The argument is that the drug war is worse than the drugs themselves.
And that, if you believe that you can make your own decisions about your own body (masks, vaccines, seatbelts, etc), especially when it has no direct consequence for anyone else, mommy and daddy government should mind their own business when it comes to those sorts of decisions.
I definitely agree that the black market creates violence and often deadly territory disputes that the open air market does not allow. I also think that the money made by the federal, state and municipal governments is a big part of what keeps it going and the money lost by taxpayers should’ve stopped it by now.

Been saying this for years & all I got was the eye-roll. 🙄 Total TRUTH. I'm in constant pain because they ripped my Percocet script away after a decade of proper use to control it, & now I cannot even function daily because of it. Then the doctors throw those stupid 'so-called non-addictive' Gabapentin at me, which didn't relieve a thing & just made me sick. It's insanity.

My father used to be on opioid pain maintenance. That is now a thing of the past and he is in constant pain. The weird thing about our family is that opioids do not induce an drug "high" or feeling of euphoria. In simply kills the pain. Yet another time that drug policies have left those who benefit from it unable to receive it because of shoddy management.
Same here, i am always in pain. Some days i cant move. When i was on a pain killer i could get up and move and get stuff done.
Now my liver is dying due to all the other meds i have to take and i prefer not to move. It hurts.
The pain relief and sense of normalcy is the “high” you feel when suffer from a chronic illness.
Kratom, sour sop and wild opium lettuce works wonders for chronic pain.

Thank you Greg. My 92 year old grandmother can't get anything for pain because her doctor is scared of the government. That's BS. I think people that old and military veterans should get whatever they need.
Get her a referral to a Pain Clinic. She should not be in pain because of a scared doctor. A pain doctor knows the laws and keeps a close eye on his patients and so they have nothing to fear. Please help her! There are many options depending on the source of the pain and no reason for anyone to live in pain. Best of luck!

@@Moon..Shadow she's 94. At a pain clinic you have to go every month to get a refill and take a drug test while having your meds counted.
Why? Why must you be treated like a criminal or a child? Why can't you take less one day (if in less pain) or more (if in more pain)? You know what you need better than they do when you have pain constantly. You don't get your cholesterol meds counted. You don't need a test to see if you take your sleeping pills every 24hrs.
This isn't about your health when they give you meds with 45 side effects, and 12 of those are deadly, without any trouble. It's about controlling your life and quit possibly "thinning the herd".
Although you didn't mention the cause of her pain,, you might want to look into alternatives for her. Local health food shop, if you have any around, can suggest many things. LDN (low dose naltrexone) from a compounding pharmacist may be very helpful and is very safe and nonaddictive.
What you eat (and dont) can make a big difference. Some foods increase pain,, some can decrease it.Protease enzymes like bromelain (pineapple) or papain (pineapple) can make a big difference depending on the type of pain. Curcumin formulas too.
Maybe even some consults with a health coach would help.
Nobody "has" to be in ,pain and there are other ways to deal with it other than drugs. Best of all,, is to address the root cause of course,, if that's possible.
I hope you can find some things to help her have the best quality of life and be around as long as she can.
I live in chronic pain and my doctor tells me that 'there is nothing he can do'. Thanks a bunch!

I think that part of it has to do with the study whose data concluded that the Right understands the Left, but the Left doesn’t understand the Right.
so, Fox can accurately explain the positions of the Left-Leaning outlets (although, they aren’t immune from hyperbole or misrepresentation, on occasion), but the Lefty Outlets can’t do the same thing in reverse. they constantly misrepresent the positions of Fox News and treat them completely unfairly. they probably COULD be fair if they wanted to, but they CHOOSE to be dishonest and unfair, because they aren’t interested in understanding the Right (and yet, they still blame EVERYTHING on the Right, anyway).

I'm one of the thousands of chronic pain sufferers that has been harmed by the war on opioids and I have had my pain medications taken away because of it. I am grateful for the show you did on the drug war 🙏🏾 we need more news shows reporting it so we can get it stopped and chronic pain sufferers can once again gets a life back and can function! Yup. Every time I go to my back doctor, I get treated like a criminal. They count my pills, won't prescribe me the stuff that ACTUALLY works, only the stuff that makes me throw up, and I have to fill out stupid form after stupid form about my personal life. Questions like how many arguments I've gotten in and if I've ever stolen from a family member. Every month I have to go through that, just to get my medication.
I run my own business, own a home, and have never owned a gun, committed a crime or even broken the speed limit.

Yeah I go through the same too.. They took mine away and I suffer everyday.. I use to have a semi normal life when I had mine, but now I don't even have a life since they took mine away.. I didn't even abuse mine or even OD on them either..
Physicians are now limited in their ability to give suffering patients the pain medication they need. A few months ago, after surgery, I was in severe pain, yet was prescribed only a small amount of Rx pain relievers. I am no longer in pain, but it was cruel to force me to suffer because some other people abuse pain medications.
Exactly, I have fibro and there are some days where the pain and sensitivity are so bad that my clothes makes it worse. I used to be on pain meds but I was taken off them when the "opioid epidemic" became a thing. Even with passing all my drug screens and counts. I have a Medical Marijuana card now though and it really does wonders. I don't have near as many bad days as I used to.
Completely a result of the opiate abuse knee jerk reaction . We suffer for those that get high from having NO pain !!

@Joe B iden There was indeed a problem. Maybe some unscrupulous physicians were prescribing to anyone who would pay. I think it was those so-called patients who would then sell the drugs. A good doctor knows his or her patient, knows the circumstances that lead to severe pain, and also knows that patients have different experiences with pain. Also, a good physician keeps good documentation. I've heard of certain pain clinics that were handing out opiods like candy. I have a high pain tolerance, but truly severe pain isn't alleviated by over-the-counter painkillers. Those who truly need the medicine don't get them because of the abuse by others.

I generally watch Gutfeld for the humor, but behind every segment, there are important points brought out and I feel that this one is, especially in these times, particularly salient.
I tend to cringe at his jokes, because I find his humor to be not funny at all. It’s like a vaudeville performer mixed with bad dad jokes. But I do like to watch him for the information that he talks about.

I've tried a few times to watch this show, either for the supposed humour, or for the info. I can never finish and episode. I like Steven Crowder well enough, liked Gavin McInnis quite a lot, and other conservative comedians, but can't do this. I'd say Tyler Fischer is the best new conservative comedian out there. His impressions are amazing. In that vein, a little Canadian show, that constantly gets censored off YT and is too hot for some alt platforms, is Jeremy MacKenzie (Canadian war vet meets Robin Williams), w/ his channel, Raging Dissident.

As a first responder in a major city the homeless we see is overwhelmingly using drugs and alcohol. A smaller amount have mental illness. The amount that are sober, sane ,and just financially troubled is a vast minority.
There was a study done by a reporter up in Seattle a few years back and that study agrees with you. I would think drug and alcohol addiction would contribute to mental illness ,as well, no?

As a chronic pain patient this makes me sick. They don't go after the junkies, they go after us, and our doctors. It's insane. Chronic pain patients are ALSO dying from fentanyl ods because they are in pain, being cut off from medications they were taking RESPONCIBLY. And having to seek drugs off the street.
I suffer from high anxiety as well as depression. They make meds for such a thing but Ive never taken them. I smoke Marijuana and that seems to clear it all up. It's cheap and I trust it a lot more than big pharma. I use it responsibly never on the job, there is a time and a place to partake in such a thing.
Now with it becoming legal I don't have to be shady about getting it. I'll walk right into a store and buy it. I'm unvaccinated Ive never like taking pills unless I have an unbearable Migraine

The story of Jesse Ventura's wife comes to mind where a few drops of medical grade Marijuana a day cured her epileptic seizures that were occurring like 3-4x a week and violently. Scary stuff. None of the big pharma meds worked. They tried four of them. They go to Colorado and get the drops, and voila. She quickly becomes normalized again. So hell with it. If it makes people feel better, and they want to do it responsibly, go for it is what I say.
The only beef I have with it, is with dumbass potheads who smoke it in apartment buildings for kicks, forcing all their neighbors to smell that nasty odor. That's so annoying and not good for anybody. But at that point it's no different than the assholes who smoke cigs in the same situation.

Drug testing for nonmachinary jobs is unnecesssary when behavior tells enough. Routine pre-employmeny drug screens is a an obvious cause of unemployment.

Love Harris's remark about not having to read it off the teleprompter. All kidding aside this was a very important subject that needs to take place all over the country. And although people tend to blame drugs on the homeless situation it's just a tip of why people are on the streets. The worst thing government did was take money from budgets that help our mentally ill patients. And yet right now they want to make sure charging stations are expanded so that possible electric car sales can prosper. This administration is ignoring the many crises in this country and actually have added to them starting with the open border crisis. We really do need to get back to basics and help the LEGAL Americans in our country. Charity DOES begin at home.
Narcotics saved my sanity for 10 years . Those , like me, who have suffered with chronic pain, are so grateful. It saddens me when people who do not need them for pain abuse them, and make it harder for us to be believed!
I definitely experienced this when I had nose surgery a couple years ago and the doctor only gave me enough pain killers for one day. They literally cut scar tissue out of my nose, broke it, and stitched it back together and thought I only needed help with the pain for one day. I was so miserable.

Chronic pain patients have been taking the fall for this for far too long and suffering needlessly when being removed from medication that they legitimately need.

I have been saying legalize all drugs for years. I am an almost 61 y/o woman that is not a drug user. I just long ago realized this was on drugs was doing nothing but make really bad people lots of money. I try to get people to understand by using prohibition as an example. The money on war on drugs could be used to provide really good drug treatment and support for effected families. I hope the new generation gets this and makes changes.
This story is so true. I was a cop for 40 years. Destroyed my body from fights, car crashes, falls, training and just plain age. I cannot get any pain medication for my spinal stenosis which is turning me into a invalid. The excuse is always the same, "we don't believe pain medication helps in the long run". I've seen this up close and it's horrible. Obama changed medical school curriculum to train doctors to assume all patients are drug seeking addicts. I never see young doctors, and I've had some success with older more pragmatic ones - if you go to a private doc who doesn't take insurance - and doesn't have to answer to an HMO - you might find one who isn't paranoid about losing his license. My mom was diagnosed with spinal stenosis. Lack of movement is what will make you immobile. My mom started lifting weights and walking and it's much much better. She is 70. Get out and move!

I'm one of millions of people who can't legally get the pain management I desperately need. My doctor cut me off after saying, "I don't care about anything but the DEA".
Doctors are no longer even allowed to prescribe them unless they have a DEA license. The doj has seriously handicapped doctors. Most clinics straight up say none are allowed to be prescribed, even if the doctor does have the proper license. It's disgusting.
UK Brit can you buy cannabis oil online? I know that quite a few people have tried this and found it helpful. They also use it for the dogs who have arthritis etc.

I’m in nursing school and we talked about this in our pharmacology class. There is a lot to the opioid crisis, and the government is doing everything they can to make it worse.
Just raised the prices by cutting supply. Equilibrium price= point at where supply and demand intersect, but opiates are probably an inelastic good, same as gasoline and cigarettes, as price goes up, demand does not change. People who are addicted to these 3 examples will pretty much pay ny price they can,

Cutting off prescription drugs for pain is having a very predictable outcome, over doses from street drugs. Those politically motivated drug laws elected quite a few politicians to office. There should be some rethinking of our current drug laws.

I am a 67 year old disabled veteran with severe back pain and all the VA will give me is pain relieving cream for my back or tylenol. If any of those doctors went outside the VA for themselves they would at least get decent painkillers.
I have TBI and they keep giving me tramadol, I can deal with the constant headaches with ginger and sleep, but not the being so out of it I can not function if I took the dose prescribed.
You already know see they don't give you pain meds but if they had pain, they would have access to all the pills they want

CBD from hemp with no TCHs is legal in all states, you can get it on line and it's shipped to you. I've been using it for several years. You'd be amazed what it can do or, depending on the state you live in spend some $$ & go to a non-VA doc and get a prescription for the real thing. You might try calling up Front Line Doctors & maybe get a script for it. Look them up on line then make a phone 'tell a med'. They can do prescriptions over the fone.

As a career firefighter, including 15 yrs as a paramedic, I can assure you that drug abuse is in fact a major issue with the homeless. Mental health is an even bigger factor. Poverty in the homeless community is secondary to these other, bigger, problems. The good doctor is just plain wrong.

😭 Thank you, Greg! Thank you! You are a breath of fresh air for all of us who suffer daily in pain, with no help at all. I just watched my mom rot for 2 months, with no pain relief until the day she died. At that point, they were no longer concerned she may addict.. She needlessly suffered because of the propaganda. My dad just had emergency hip replacement surgery and can't get any pain relief either. I'm 38, I've already had 7 surgeries, one of which was promised as "the gold standard", just to be pulled from the market 10 years later, due to harm.. I'm so tired of pain. I want to live a functional life again. I'm too young to consider disability, even though I know I'd be accepted. I want to work a normal job, instead I work for slave wages working for Doordash because I can take the day off or end early if I'm sick that day... And it's a lot, unfortunately...
When I watch Greg gut field I have a sigh of relief and know that comedy is not dead in some far reaches of the ethernet. He is one of the funniest comedians still left in the fray. I haven’t laughed out loud by myself in a long time thank you Greg gutfield.
@F1 Rocket Engine well not only that they can be investigated or audited if they’re prescription profile has a “red flag” and loose there license, it’s not really that they care if you get addicted cause they get money every time they prescribe in one way or another. They just don’t want to unfairly loose there license because they just happen to deal with a lot more patients in pain than what the FEDS see fit. I have dealt with back pain my whole life so I feel you brother
