Given the trend of dungeons, here's my genuine theory for what's going to happen in the raid: We go in on the premise that there's "something stirring in Rhulk's pyramid and we should go check it out." We fight some dread and hive, and encounter a boss that seems to be a modified version of a previous boss, maybe a high-ranking hive or scorn. We discover Rhulk has been hiding something inside the pyramid, an artifact or some new species, this whole time, but we never learn exactly what it is. It will only be brought up again two seasons/episodes from then, but otherwise we'll leave just as in the dark as we entered. The lore books will mention some kind of experiment resulting in Eldritch horrors, but otherwise will remain very vague. In short, we will learn nothing, but will be given more questions to theorize over.
I see a similar but different thing happening. I see us being given a reason to renter the sunken pyramid and in doing so enter the city part this time. We find out the dread are trying to take the upended for themself as a new weapon as there witness has been killed. The boss will be a being trying to take over the dread as there new leader. Perhaps even a revived rhulk could make an appearance but imo I don’t want to see rhulk return yet

This Act we got a new leader for the Scorn, the new dungeon may reveal a potential new leader for the Dread, since they'll want to keep the faction but currently don't have a really defined leader. Maybe it'll be some named Subjugator that the Dread free throughout the dungeon.

The way they keep people spending money on cosmetics is being vague and not putting an ending to an introduced storyline Final shape is the last thing I will ever buy from bungie ever
I think it would be neat to go explore a place and find out that the ways the different species explained and named the same place/species differently.
I'm willing to bet this will be a Dread dungeon, with the other enemy being Shadow Legion, Taken, or Xivu's Hive. I'll admit, Rhulk's story with VoTD and Preservation wrapped his story and lore very nicely. That said, I wonder if maybe his Pyramid is hiding the master device that allowed for the mass production of worm larvae? Or perhaps deep within his Pyramid is the same Luster bestowed to him by The Witness that granted him godlike power before his total transformation into a Disciple. Also, if Vesper's Host is possibly teasing things for Apollo, it's likely Sundered Doctrine has teases for Behemoth.
I Think we will be fighting scorn experiments, also who was or is commanding scorn inside the throne world (enemies: my bet is dread or shadow legion or both, or scorn)
Gonna assume this is setting up either a future species we'll run into or (what im hoping) we learn much more explicit details about Lubrae and it's culture/society, setting up a future adventure there.
I've always wondered about those extended horse statues in Rhulk's ship and I've always wondered if they've been tied to whatever race is the galactic butt stallion that is the "Star horse", or if the witness and Rhulk have encountered the star horse and have tried to either take it or have it become a disciple and it's just been hiding with the nine (xur) the whole time
Maybe it might explore the swimming worm from the strike in savathuns throneworld. I explored the worm on titan. I think Savathun harbored one of the uncorrupted worm gods. Exciting stuff.
I’m gonna need some lore masters here to help me find the price of gear or weapon that had this lore tab but I remember reading it. After the guardians defeated rhulk some clean up teams were sent to study the pyramid a team of two found this creature contained in one of the trophy cases, over the span of a couple of days they study it and on the final day the creature goes missing and they are killed. I’m thinking it might be the new boss or I could be completely wrong about all of this.
It actually just hit me how guardians have been killing gods with some of the least mystical weapons you can think of: guns. Isn't that just so strange? We've succeeded in doing what we've been doing and our weapons of choice are often just guns! Yes we have "space magic", but we've often succeeded because we simply know the correct thing to shoot at at the right time. Don't know about anyone else, but that concept is surprisingly mind boggling to me, even with how far we've come in the story of destiny.
God, I would love to go to his home planet.But this is my thing about this game franchise that i notice they don't care about exploring these alien places or these extraterrestrial areas.They just want to make games about people in their own backyard and that's boring, Like I was always been hoping that this journey of the story in the game would take to the Stars and it's never gonna do so like It's clear that they have no ambition to do so. All it ISIS talk and hopes from people that do enjoy and have a vision an hope for the story. Probe. Going to a new Galaxy to get proof of anything that she's talked to hype us up for the next c***DLC that it's gonna be somewhere in the cosmetron Or behind the wall. We should have been explored more of rolk's pyramid ship. True but I believe frontiers will change that. Right now this is just bungie closing old stories from the light and darkness saga, so after this there won’t be anything holding back bungie nostalgia wise

I doubt its a scorn dungeon, mainly because warlords ruin was two dungeons ago and that was scorn/taken. So i think this will be hive/taken
