The biggest difference is that the j8+ can be returned to Costco for a full refund a few months later when it doesnt work anymore.
The reason for the dust bunnies, I get them too, the rubber brushes collect static when on the rugs, and they keep balled up hair stuck to the rollers, since they r rubber and sticky, and when the roomba goes back to hard floor, the dust bunnies fall off the static roller brushes when it hits hard floor again, but I just set my roomba to do twice run over per room and I haven't found to many hair balls since I set it up that way... but yes, u will notice the hair balls just past rugs or carpet areas, my older roomba never did this, but it had the old school hair wrap brushes, so I'll take the dust bunnies over cleaning out the old style rollers any day! I hated the old style rollers! I had to clean them after every use cause I have long hair and 2 dogs that have longer hair, Australia shepherds.... so the new roomba is a huge upgrade! And I believe part of the static is more in winter cause air is dryer and static is alot worse in the winter then summer months, where I live at least... I got the j8+ cause they were the same price, and costco return policy is amazing and all the added features! One thing I hate tho. No handle on this new model roomba! And if there is a handle, I can't figure out where it is!! I loved the handle on my old roomba for moving it around from floor to floor... but I do not like not having a handle on the top of this model!
Figured I'd let you know that costco has the J8+ on sale now for 499. Last month it was 699. If you picked it up at the higher price, just take I back to Costco and switch em.
@Saint A I have actually had to return 2 and I'm on my 3rd! The first one broke its self, the little flap u have to unlock to take the rollers off to clean came undone and the robot kept going and broke that plastic piece, the second one was EXTREMELY loud, like the motor was working over time! Something was wrong with that one, motor wasn't 3 times as loud as the first one I had, this last one I'm on now is doing good! Finally! 3rd is the charm... hopefully! All 3 I got were on sale, they were 599.99, so 100 dollars off... I'm worried if I exchange again in a 2 month period my luck will run out and I'll get another bad romba haha! But it may be worth 100 bucks! The only perk to exchanging so many times, I have a stock pile of filters and bags! Cause costco doesn't require all items to be in the box to return, so I kept the accessories :)

JUST bought the j8+ for $499 from Costco. Last time I checked, which was probably a month or 2 ago, it was $699. Glad I waited lol

It was just on one day sale Easter Sunday for $499. I grabbed one too. My original Costco 550 is about 15 years old and still going. But I've replaced the sensor harness, several batteries (although the lithium one now is still going strong) and the brush motor. Time to upgrade.

@@jefflebowski3319 I got worried when I saw all of the recent one star reviews for the app. My experience wasn't to bad. A little buggy; the text fields not zooming or going black. Moving and adding lines was a little wonky too but all in all it seems to be working quite well.

Question: if you put the bigger battery in de J7+, will it work correctly? (as it seems with the cuttout of the plastics of the J7+, there is room left to upgrade to a bigger capacity)
Yep, it would work, I showed that by swapping the batteries in the video.
Has anyone figured out where to get a 4400 mAh battery replacement for the J8+? I don’t need it just yet but in a couple of years no doubt.
Just battery and extra bags.

I just bought my J8+ a week or two ago, but one thing i saw is that the obstacle review doesn't work...
keeps saying something went wrong...
edit: i fixed this problem by performing a factory reset!! yay!
