That’s what’s so scary about this case. Like literally no motive similar to most abductees or killers… literally just a chance sighting of her and he decided then and there to do all of this. There’s absolutely no way her parents or anyone she knows could’ve prevented this from happening. He had no previous relationship or knowledge of her and her family, just was driving around one day and randomly saw a little girl getting off a bus across the street then decided to murder her entire family and abduct her. Had no previous record of violence or anything similar whatsoever. And also the fact that he like didn’t even really have a plan for after he abducted her. Just kind of stowed her away under his bed with no real plan like most abductors do. Just the randomness of it all is so frightening and just fucked all around…

Yea that was a rough one.
That “C D’s nuts” line was ruthless 😂 good one, Mike
For someone who repeats "in reality" he sure doesn't have a grasp of it. The Benny Hill music during the jail sequence was much appreciated!
So happy that Jayme is in good hands and recovering. 💚
I think you might have just been summarising, but the "in all reality" guy was Kyle and the prison fight was Jake
We drove by the house very early in the morning just after this happened. We were on the way to a trade show with no clue what happened. Jayme isn't only brave, I'm convinced she saved others. This had to be a serial killer in the making.
They ended up knocking down the property. It was sold last year and someone built a new house on it.
Property was worth about 180k. They tore it down and sold the land for about 75k if I remember correctly.
The Patterson property was torn down and nothing has been built there. People avoid that vacation community.

Serial killer in the making? Uhhh no? Didn't you see him shaking his head no while the judge was saying how dangerous he is? Clearly you missed him continually shaking his head no, but he totally convinced me and im sure many others... You could just tell that was the head nod of an innocent man.
@@saraladd6885 what? You really that naive and ignorant? 🤣😭🤣 Read the whole case file. He’s far from being innocent.

Jayme is a beautiful warrior. Good job, Mike. Your storytelling brought new life to her story.
Yes. I have watched everything that has been reported on this crime (that I can find) and Mike's treatment here is amazing because there are so many new aspects of the crime that are totally new to me, and probably to everyone. THAT is why we love Mike so much. He just does the most amazing research and story telling on the internet.

I wish her the brightest future.
Same! But the police arrived in 7 minutes! Sadly, it was still too long. But they tried!
Yes, also so glad the police showed up on the scene as quick as they did. I was worried dispatch might think it was a prank
I froze up when I saw that Mike was talking about Jayme's case. The 911 call was blood curdling. I cried. It was so so sad. Jayme is an amazing woman. She is a hero. Wishing her peace and happiness.
I live close to Baron and frequently think about Jayme and how her life has forever changed. I followed the case so closely while she was missing and actually cried when we got the news that she was back and safe
Never heard this case before. Blessings to Jayme and so so sorry for the loss of your parents and the tragic heartbreaking trauma you endured. You are strong and brave beyond your years.
That poor girl. There's no way to even imagine what she went through, not that you'd really want to. I hope she got the help she needed to start her healing journey and that she is doing as well as she can now. I'm glad she had family to take her and support and love her. Not to mention a town that rallied around her. I wish her peace and all the strength in the world.
I'm so happy Jamie is doing as well as she possibly can.
Sending positive thoughts and prayers.

Mike's the best at sarcastically ripping into all these dirtbags, one of the reasons why I'm such a huge fan!
Living as I do in Wisconsin, and with two daughters close in age to Jayme…this case was terrifying, and at times seemed hopeless…until Jayme took a chance and saved herself. I hope only the best for her going forward - and that she is allowed to heal and move on in peace.
Just completely sad man!!!….. glad she’s ok but still!!! How OK is she really!?? 😢
Fairly well, I'm relatively local. I heard she got a lot of support from her remaining family and community. I believe she has graduated high school now and was going to college.
Probably as okay as she can be, given the circumstances. The local community/people were very protective of her after her rescue, so she was able to avoid a lot of media harassment.

The is a lot more to say about how well Jayme is doing. Thanks mike for not easily sensationalizing her story and respecting her privacy. Great job as always. Thanks.
This might be one of the most bone-chilling cases covered IMO. So horrific, I feel so bad for that poor girl and her parents... stuff of nightmares.
Thanks!
I lived not far from Barron. When her escape broke on the news, I heard it on my car radio and pulled over to listen. Everyone locally was hoping for the best and expecting the worst. I couldn't believe Jayme's strength.
Definitely thought it was going to be another “found by hunters” story. Absolutely amazing when they announced she was found alive!!
THANK YOU for reporting on this! I live very close to where Jayme's house was. It has since been demolished, & the land was sold. This heavily affected everyone in Barron & the surrounding communities. We all felt so Safe out here, & this was so disturbing. People still talk about it.
Jayme is doing well. She lives with the aunt in this video, & has a job now. No matter how 'ok' she seems on the outside, this trauma & loss will be with her for the rest of her life. She will be graduating soon, this year I believe. There's just so much that she cant share with her parents anymore. Such a selfish & unnecessary tragedy. At least we can be glad that the monster who did this will never be free to do anything like this again. Thank you for telling her story.
Good morning Mike. Love starting my mornings with you. This Aussie is a massive fan. Thanks for all your hard work.
Thanks Mike. That poor sweet girl. At 13 she is a legend going through all that in 88 days losing your parents both of them. Getting abducted, living at the hands of a maniac, keeping it together. 😢 I wish the best for her and her family. She’s a incredibly strong person. ❤

How wierd is it that I never cry on this channel but burst out in tears when they found her. So happy.
This story... ugh, my heart. I hope Jayme is doing as well as she can be doing. What a badass. She deserves the best.
Horrific. The odds of this happening in your home is extremely low but just knowing that it's even remotely possible is chilling. I often think about Jayme and hope she has found some closure. It was the act of a madman and I hope she feels no guilt or blame for his despicable actions.
I think of her too. Hope that wherever she is that she finds a way through her trauma. She's a very special, very brave girl. I just pray that she can find happiness.

One of the most striking things in this video was the cops talking to each other at the scene:
“We’re missing the murder weapon.”
“We’re missing a lot.”
I can’t imagine what it would be like to respond to a call like that.
What an incredible story!! Good job telling it, Mike!! What an amazing bunch of police officers! Did you see how dark it was when they pulled up to that house? Good heavens!! and not knowing who you’re walking towards? Wow! Stones the size of boulders. Thank God for all the brave men and women that run into the face of danger to help us when we need it! The scariest part is that, theres more of such evil beings amongst us, living and existing unsuspicious.

I’m surprised they didn’t have a gun. Aren’t gun laws fairly lax in Wisconsin and most ppl there have one?
@@stancexpunkswhen you're ambushed like they were, I'm guessing it would be difficult to get to one unless you don't have it safely stored because there's a minor in the house.
@@SugarandSarcasm Thank you. All of the idiots proclaiming 'If they only had a gun, this wouldn't have happened' are just trying to comfort themselves with the belief that something like that could never happen to them.
@@stancexpunks I would guess virtually everyone in rural Wisconsin has at least a hunting rifle. But Dad didn't know a psycho killer was walking up to the door, and was shot before he even had a chance to react, so I'm not sure how that was going to help.
So random that it's frightening, just because he saw Jayme getting on a school bus. I doubt that she see's herself as a hero. Though she will never forget, I pray that she lives her life like her parents dreamed she would. Best wishes Jayme to you and your extended family.
