Fun fact about this song: I don't know if you were able to catch the lyrics in this one, but they're very morbid, but in a whimsical sort of way. The Rev actually wrote this song as a joke, he just wanted to write the most messed up thing he could think of, and it was intended to be part of a small Halloween album, but after the band finished the song, they realized it was too good to put on a small EP and considered putting it on their next album, but the band was hesitant because of the controversial nature of the lyrics, and almost didn't go through with it, until their label listened to the song and told them they'd be crazy not to include it in the next album, so they did. Now it stands as a testament to what A7X is all about, that song is basically the epitome of the band and their image.

Literally not even true lmao no one in the band wanted to work on it, not even Jimmy at some points. He didn't care about how messed up it was, it was a goofy song and they were just goofing off and it went from a side project to they need to make it even if it doesn't come out on the record. Nowhere do they claim it was a joke, just no one took it seriously until it had good foundation.
Johnny Christ is the bass player. He is amazing in his own right. This song is an amazing piece for him as it's mainly a bass song.
It's a little upsetting that everyone in the band is so immaculate in what they do, that Johnny gets overshadowed in classic bass player fashion lol. In any other band, he'd surely stand out more.

M.shadows didn’t actually lose vocal ability. He just changes vocal techniques over the years and chooses what suits him the best. He injured his vocal cords in 2018, and they haven’t done any live since then because of that and Covid. He is completely healed at the moment. In 1-2 months from now their new album is gonna drop and I’m really interested to see what he sounds like!!

Synyster Gates is such a great guitarist, there are plenty of videos of him playing solos while the others are taking a break or something and they're just great to watch, it's not just metal solos. I bought their album City of Evil without really knowing who they were. I was browsing the metal category at a store that sold CDs and it was on sale and the album cover caught my eye. Got home and I was hooked on first listen. Now I have all the albums :)

Jimmy The Rev was an excellent drummer of the band, he received awards for his talent, top 41 drummer in history, also His family received an awards for him in 2010 by revolver golden gods like the best drummer of the year... Simply amazing, my favorite drummer R.I.P Jimmy The Rev Sullivan

Matt Shadows's voice is still amazing, he had a few rough moments during the The Stage tour in 2018, but in all his voice is still there.
I'd recommend reacting to their Live from Hollywood, the band is fantastic there too, specially with the song Acid Rain and The Stage.

This is basically avenged sevenfold version of bohemian rhapsody. Such a work of art. We got to thank Jimmy “the Rev” Sullivan for coming up with this masterpiece of a song. Jimmy “the rev” Sullivan was a mad man and a lyrical genius!! RIP to the GOAT on the drums. M Shadow vocal and range is beautiful and perfect sounded. The fact this is had little guitar and more of a theater feel is awesome. This song is perfect and I love it

This is basically my favorite song from them, was the first i heard and the only one for a time until i thinked; if this one is so good, the other ones should be as well, and now i love almost all albums
Producer Fred Archambault said in a interview that Matt's doctor told him before surgery 2003, that he might never be able to sing again. After recovery Matt trained with legendary vocal coach Ron Anderson, every day for six month. Ron Anderson has said that Matt after training and recovery became the best in the world, adding even more octaves to his complex voice. Suggest you watch ""Roman Sky" - live at the grammy museum", to hear how Matt sounds like from a more recent time. An acoustic performance with some songs from their latest album and some older songs.
Now let’s move to 2011 Rock Am Ring live of Avenged Sevenfold if you want to know what happened after The Rev. M Shadows seemed angry there. He did a lots of powerful scream.

A song you should definitely check out by them is “Fiction”. It was the last song the Rev wrote for the band a couple of days before he passed away. The song was very meaningful for the future of the band after his passing and he also has some amazing vocals in that song along with M Shadows

Jonathan Lewis Seward better known by his stage name Johnny Christ,is the bassist of the band Avenged Sevenfold. Johnny Christ was the fourth bassist to join Avenged Sevenfold in 2002 after replacing the former member of A7X.
If you want to see a more recent performence from them to see how matt sings after his injury i would recommend doing any of the songs from Avenged Sevenfold Live in Hollywood (its the releaseparty for their latest album), its basically right when he recovered from his injury so matt is kindof rusty but it still sounds awesome 🙂 maybe either The Stage or Acid Rain from that show. Or maybe Roman Sky Live at the Grammy Museum, its from an even newer show and its so damn beautiful 🥰 i kindof recommend starting with Roman Sky actually 🙂
Just the first few seconds of the song and can tell by your face that you genuinely like the band. Gets a like from me.
I think you’ll like all of their albums really. A7x, waking the fallen, sounding the 7th trumpet, nightmare, the stage, I think I’m forgetting one. Anywho the stage is an absolute banger. But, nightmare was the Revs last album, and the last song he wrote, only a few days before his passing :(, “Fiction” which is the second to last song on the album is really good. It’s slower and softer than you might expect but well done. The rev recorded the piano and some vocals for it just prior to his passing. But, forewarning, it is an emotionally difficult song especially considering the revs passing.

6 months late sorry xD but I love you reacted to the LBC performance. this particular version always hits me hardest and I'm not even a die hard avenged fan. This track was the Rev's baby and almost didn't happen. The part where he's singing the girls part and trading vocals with Matt always chokes me up a bit.
