    Yes sir I think the reason why you put the main breaker over the right side of the panel is because in case the wire slip out of the main breaker it will hit the neutral bar,and the neutral bar will send back the current to its source.

    • @ElectricalInstallationEEE

    EEE I understand why the earth and numeral are connected but just curious as to the means of earthing. Is it via earth rod or to the supplier's earth?
    If the path via earth is broken wouldn't the earthing conductor be at the same potential as the mains.

    What's stopping the current from traveling to the grounds since it's bonded to the neutral in the panel

    • @ElectricalInstallationEEE
      @ElectricalInstallationEEE  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well the neutral bar is seperated from the live bar so that alone should alone the current not to go there but if you are talking about waste current etc well that is difference because it only occur through the neutral to the earth if that makes sense.

    • @kingmal3463
      @kingmal3463 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I get it now, the current will take the best path back to the source to complete the cycle and not to the earth It's a dead end

    • @nadel9
      @nadel9 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Isn't that still dangerous. Because doing this is expecting the main utility guy to always do the right connection.. I've experience reverse connection from the utility company.. Neutral was live and live was neutral.. Had to call them immediately to rectify this issue.. Especially you're this is a metal box.

    • @ElectricalInstallationEEE
      @ElectricalInstallationEEE  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      A main breaker can go anywhere in a panel once installation is accurate but where ever u install a main or sub breakers they should be treated with caution dead or live , it is regarded safe once the neutral not interfering with the connection , in this panel that is enough space for any professional to operate on if needed to there are panels that are closer that this and more crowded , safety is there plus easier for house home owners to switch on and off , regard neutral returning back power to the panel from the utility that can happen but doesn't affect the location of the breaker.

      @Luxury Music I was thought at Heart NSTA that the distribution panel must be a minimum height of 4 feet from floor level.
      And there is no maximum height for the panel. As long as the top most breaker is accessible. Which is the Main Breaker.

    What I have observed is there is no insulation covering on the earthing conductors.In England all earthing conductors, colours are green and yellow stripe. The Neutral and the earthing are connected at the supply head after the protected the fuse before the meter. And separated as it enters the distribution Board.As to the question,AS the mains breaker the supply side will feed the link bars that supply the other breakers.

    • @ElectricalInstallationEEE

    Why u put it on that side because u not use in main breaker remember if you was use in main breaker to the top the was going on the next side so you of to put on that side to balance the load plus it is small panel too

      No ,most people use right hand ,a double breaker much easier to switch on and off from that position than the other side.

    Question boss when taking out a breaker do you hv to remove the breaker from the belly then take out the wires ?? Or you can just turn off the breaker then screw out the wires ?
    Reason why I asked it's because one time I was screwing out the breaker my screwdriver got arched

      Turn breaker off first then pull out ,you can screw the wire out after taking the breaker out.

    What is the main reason why you tie the neutral with the earth?

    • @ElectricalInstallationEEE
      @ElectricalInstallationEEE  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because this is a main panel the ground and nuetral should always bond in the main panel due to the fact they are related so in case any fault occurr you have a path way to the earth

      @@ElectricalInstallationEEE this is standard practice in some countries and there is nothing wrong with it however it is considered in most countries that having a separate neutral and earth bar is a safer practice as neutral is basically a return path for your load and the earth is for use when under fault conditions. Interesting video I am a UK electrician and find how other countries work very interesting. Also I have just come back from Jamaica so wanted to see more as such a beautiful country
