    I really want to purchase this, but I see one design change layout that actually made me say WTF? That is the PCIE slot for the graphics card. Most itx card slot is on the very button edge of the board so the board is not blocked by the graphics card when installed resulting in a cleaner look and displaying your overpricef MB. Even if I install the card vertically, the riser cable will block some of that gorgeous face of the board. Its the main reason why I choose MITX. Other than that, this board is way ahead compared to other MITX. Because of that PCIE slot, I might have to get the MSI MPG Z790I Edge WiFi.
    Hopefully MSI and ASUS will release a firmware update to increase RAM support up to 128GB. So Again ASUS.. WTF?
    My Bad. I thought it's an ITX because of 2
    RAM slots. Now ASUS really need to release a 128GB RAM firmware upgrade.

    I'm of 2 minds about this.
    On the one hand, I love matx: I always wanted to see more premium matx boards as I believe I shouldn't need to drop 2 dimm slots and extra pci-e slots and usually m.2 slots as well just to get wifi and such like you *do* get on most itx boards.
    On the other hand, great now I have a premium matx and have basically no choices of premium matx cases to go along with it. Basically it's either really low quality no-brand, exploding-PSU included matx cases or Fractal with some of their 'Mini' versions being good matx options.
    But hey since this is a chicken and egg problem between premium matx mobos and premium matx cases maybe this will encourage people like Coolermaster to do very minor retooling tweaks to support matx on an NR200 successor since it all but fits *already* with maybe an additional half inch of clearance I'd be good to go.

    • @Frozoken
      @Frozoken ปีที่แล้ว

      2 dimm slots allows you to run higher capacity ram reliably at 6000mhz+ on amd unlike with 4 dimm boards where even only 2x16gb kits may not be able to run 6000mhz. If you're buying a board like this you have the money to buy 2 high capacity sticks from the start and maybe im short sighted but I don't see why ud need more than 96gb of ram without needing a workstation platform anyway. Even if you do u'll now be relegated to abysmal speeds regardless.

    The only justification for the existence of mATX is four DIMM slots for extra memory capacity (you might sacrifice speed for capacity but the choice is yours)and 3 more PCIE slots.
    Now back when they release this form factor it was pretty much populated with PCI and over the years the GPU got beefier and storage moved to nvme so they started to loose PCI slots… and now we get this thing…. First 4xPcie is barely enough, anything that are worth having is either 8x or 16x (electrically), if they put a 10gbe or a Thunderbolt chip and then say, looks here is one slot that is 4x, I might be okay.
    Second, just 2 memory banks. Well, DDR 5 has more density than DDR 4 so I might overlook it. But anything special about this board can be done with a microITX. And the daughter board is just gimmicks… this things sells for premium as a overclock champ, but in reality not always flagship chipsets or the quantity of vrms determines it’s ability to overclock… remember x570 boards not so long ago? Yeah those were fun overclocking… 🙄
    Most good overclock boards comes in the flavor of B550. So naaa as I see it there is no point for this board.

  • @undefwun2135
    @undefwun2135 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    This board actually makes sense with 2 ram slots. No gaming machine needs more than 2, if you're going for balls to the wall performance. 64gb is way more than enough for any game and at this point in time there is no DDR5 implementation on AMD or Intel that can actually run 4 sticks full speed last time i looked at QVLs.
    FYI its AUD $1069 here. Ooooof. (EDIT: lol I commented during the cinematic portion)
    EDIT: Another thing I noticed it seems ASUS seems to the only manufacturer with USB4. Looked at MSI and Gigabyte and they dont.

    One part of the market that AMD lost is the DDR4 one.
    New CPU, new mobo and so one they could've made "budget" boards that can use the DDR4 which could've lowered the price a little. If people from AMD even said that the sweet spot for AM5 CPU's is 6000Mhz... How much costs the cheapest DDR5 kit at 6000Mhz? Answer double than DDR4.

    Now this is how you make use of the mATX form factor. For the longest time mATX has just been mostly pointless in my opinion. It's slightly bigger, without much more features than an ITX board. This thing is packing some serious features and this has to be a game changer. Just phenomenal. The $1000 aussie is just insane tho so no way i would ever use this but i hope this brings in more competition from the other manufacturers.

      Matx is definitely more of a slightly smaller atx than a slightly bigger itx. Itx is 17x17cm, matx is 24x24, atx is 24x30. It's obviously much closer in size to atx

    Nice work. 10G Ethernet and a full back plate for the price would have been nice. (I can't think of anything else that is missing from this board)
