LITTERMATE SYNDROME IS REAL and you need to avoid it at all costs. I speak from experience. I took on 4 littermates with the agreement that 2-3 of them would be adopted out by their previous owner. Almost 2 years later, I have 3 littermates: 1/2 German Shepherd, 1/2 Dutch Shepherd, one of which has many of the personality traits of a Belgian Malinois. I didn't learn about the syndrome until they were a year old. Due to many circumstances beyond my control, I was not able to work with them as individually as I knew I needed. Looking back, I should have ensured that at the very least 1 of them got adopted out. Now, I'm stubborn and want to resolve this issue. When you have 330 lbs of littermate syndrome, you are in trouble for sure. I am determined to resolve this issue, then write a book. LOL I just traveled with them from AZ to NC in a van over 4 days/nights. Long story, but we all survived and no one got hurt. Kids, please do not do this at home.

I've always tried to explain this to people about the behavioral issues that I have with a puppy I kept out of a litter and its mother. I've always put it, theres still a little bit of an element of wild in there.... She always looks to her mother for cues, which interesting enough, her mom has taught he some tricks that I showed the mother to do, but She acts very aggressive towards other dogs, and sometimes even people they dont know. But now I'm dealing with infighting, and the little one sees red when they scrap, I myself have been to the hospital 3 times from breaking up their fights, and Ive had experience with breaking up dog fight successfully virtually all my life growing up with a chow and two wired hair fox terriers. but these two it gets scary... The key really is that pups need to sleep separately, be trained separately most of the time, give them space to be by themselves (leave one in their crate for awhile before getting them up from a sleep so the other has to cope with being alone), toileted separately, walked separately. Having had two puppies it's been really hard but also really wonderful. They do have two older dogs to keep them in line too which helps.

I feel like this happened to my dogs, but they’re 3 years apart and different breeds.

So you should get one dog and buy another later.

Why wouldn’t that be the same. And what is so bad about 2dogs getting attached to each other? Humans always want to be the center of attention and some men think they can boss everyone around

@@IntegrityMeansAll Because if you don't. The dogs will never get attached to you. They will be so attached to dog you won't be able to train it.
