@@longbows well I own two crossbows but I want to build some bows both long bows and crossbows. Now to answer your question, I have two crossbows and I haven't used them yet.
Je viens de découvrir un magnifique travail du bois, soigné et remarquablement fini....! Un "coup de patte" contemporain sur une arme médiévale..... Compliments....!
We used the 'horn tips', neither slab is big enough, if you order a tip include a note of what you want it for and the size of nut you are making so we can pick you one out.
Pope Innocent ii called it the instrument of satan and had it banned in 1139. Of course nobody listened and it developed just more and more with inlay work etc.
Beautiful bow
Thank you! Do you use one?

The stock is a bit too bulky and curvy for my taste, but the prod is a piece of pure beauty 🙏
Thanks
Great video...plenty of time to digest the craftmanship thank you
No problem, thanks for watching, thumbs up and subscribing.
the music was perfect for this video. loved the whole thing
Thanks mate
How could I make the trigger with out a forge or heat?
That stock is way to big and curvy for my taste but damn that's a nice prod. What's it's draw weight?
Thanks, I can't remember, made it 20 years ago.
Excellent video. One question please: did the quarrel (spelling?) have a notch where it touches the string? Thanks!
Not on the bolts I am using. Thanks for subscribing, much appreciated.
Very nice video mate
Thanks mate
Maybe 30 lb draw weight.

I noticed that the fingers of the nut were angled back. Can you tell me by how many degrees the fingers of the nut were angled back?
Gosh, this was so long ago and the only crossbow I ever made, I can't really remember.
@@longbows Do you still not have to crossbow with you? If you do could you please find out how many degrees the fingers of the nut were angled back?
I don't have it.
@@longbows okay that's fine. Could you at least give me an idea or a guess how many degrees you think the fingers of the nut were angled back?
I made it so the string didnt slip off, 20 years ago, sorry, its the only one I ever made, I make Longbows, perhaps contact a crossbow maker.
Hi Richard any idea where you can buy that buffalo horn nut? Many thanks
Hi, we made it from the horn we sell. www.richardheadlongbows.com
Richard Head Longbows Great shop for bow stuff 👍🏻unfortunately the large slab is out of stock unless the smaller slabs would be big enough?

Wonderful!
Was there a historic sample you based your work on, or is it a composite of lots of sources?
Where is it, and what date?
How did you make the nut?
Turned it from horn that we sell. www.richardheadlongbows.com
