For anybody who's wondering about the scoring system, DMC5 scores you on a per enemy basis. Specifically, you are scored based on your style ranking at the moment an enemy dies. Your end-of-level score is not cumulative, but rather a weighted average of all the enemies you've killed throughout the level, with boss kills being worth the most. Because it takes time to increase your style ranking, missions like 8 and 18 that have a lot of small encounters with weak enemies are very hard to S-rank, because it's almost impossible to get your style ranking high enough before you kill them, which means that killing these weak enemies is actually bad for your end-of-level score because it lowers your average! The 3 million orb moves that he references are actually extra-long taunts that give you a massive style boost if you actually manage to get through the whole animation, and since most taunts don't do damage to enemies, these supertaunts can give you a style boost sufficient to S-rank even the weakest of encounters
thaks for the much needed info i tend to use air taunts and other means but ive always had a problem with the three nightmares and fury,other than that when those spell caster demons run away from me i would say why are you running 🤣🤣😂😂
@@KennyHunteX you can dance in mission 10 . And in Misson 8. There is a fight with lots insect farm then and kill them slowly this gives you massive boost

I've just got the Platinum Trophy for DMC3, DMC4 & DMC5. But compared to the other games, DMC5's Platinum was MONSTROUSLY hard. Struggling to even SURVIVE in Hell and Hell mode was literal torture. But Devil May Cry is a game franchise that I'll never get sick from and It'll remain one of my absolute favorites forever. Accomplishing a seriously hard thing that you've struggled a lot in it is so satisfying and that's what makes Devil May Cry so fun.
It's impressive that you managed to get the game Platinum without prior experience with the franchise. DMC5 might not be the most difficult DMC game to platinum, but it's up there. Congratulations. Also, it's obviously late now but I would like to tell you about two things that you might not have known. The first is that on Hell and Hell, you can take damage and still get an S rank on the Mission. I learnt that first hand when I died multiple times on V's Mission with the Geryon bossfight (time horse) and got tired of resetting so I took my loss and finished. I got an S rank at the end. Of course, I am a veteran in DMC so my combo game is pretty good, but you might've been able to get away with one or two missions even with dying, assuming you did enough combos. The second one is that on all difficulties except HaH (cause no checkpoints), you can actually cheese your no damage runs. If you're trying to do a Mission that needs you to finish it flawlessly and you get hit at any point, you close the application, open it back up and continue from the checkpoint. That will cause the game to not register your hit and you basically get unlimited tries to beat a section flawlessly. Hope to see you try the rest of the franchise. I'm sure the rest of the games will entertain you too.
It's nice to see someone go through the same pain and suffering as I have. Although it seems like you went with the more painful more stressful probably less fun no hit route. I would've suggested learning to do some combos, I know they seem intimidating to newer players especially if the first thing you find is these crazy combo videos that took over hundreds of hours to master. You don't need those kinds of combos tho. It's a lot simpler to raise your rank just by mixing up your attacks and over time you'll learn to make these attacks look a lot better and combo them for longer. That way you could still get the S rank even if you get hit in most mission ( there's still a few that you'll need to do hitless no matter what) +learning combos made me come back to the game much more often even after getting the platinum because it's just so much fun Either way, a platinum is a platinum and it's still one of the toughest platinum trophies out there. So congrats
Well that's not really true, he has DMC5 already on his profile with 22%. He finished the game before in 2019, I don't know why he says that in the video. Even if he played it before, the platinum is still hella impressive.

Im attempting that now and it honestly doesnt seem doable atm lol, cant even get s rank on the first few levels on dmd. Not sure if i can use continues or even restart checkpoints either cuz ik u get penalized for continuing, can i even die once and still get S rank? Or will i have to just restart the whole mfing level if i die? Its kinda confusing.
Hello! a fellow platinum player of DMC 5. I feel your pain bro. Hell and Hell was literally a "get gut" for me and I refused to overuse DR faust due to the score. Finallly for bloody palace I had to use the super V & Nero suits because it was sooo annoying their playstyle with that amount of fights. This is a pain. But a great Game
As a fellow platinum owner of this love and hate relationship with this game, playing over the story line on 6 different difficulties, (total of 120 missions back to back), playing the Tower mode consists of 101 levels with each character Dante, V, Nero & Vergil. Nothing comes close to the sheer misery BS scoring system of Mission 10 for a S ranked 😐. BASICALLY you have to do a NO HIT RUN with Dante for DOUBLE score for a S rank and with NO HELP that you have to do a boss battle with Urizen STILL NOT GETTING HIT. Omg thinking about it is relapsing PTSD for me.GOD BLESS you with alot MOTIVATION. CONGRATS MAN ON THE PLATINUM 🎉🎊

You can actually die to the boss in mission 8 and still get the no damage. You have to no hit the boss's first phase where he is still sitting down. After you break his shield and trigger the cutscene, you can just get hit on the second phase to end the mission since getting hit in the second phase is scripted to trigger a cutscene instead of being counted as taking a hit. Edit: ok as I'm hearing from replies to this comment, I was wrong about getting the no damage on mission 8, that only gives a no continue bonus. It's either I was playing hell and hell when I got that, mistaking it for a no damage, or I was having a fever dream. Apologies to whoever tried this tactic get an s rank on that mission lol.
@@epicyoshi9515 huh, thats weird, I swore I've gotten a no hit like that before, and mission 8 is the only mission that has this scenario where one hit from the second phase instantly triggers the end of the fight.
@@Darenca You kindof wrong, because you don't die in one hit (unless in HAH or HOH mode) so the game still counts as you getting hit thus get rid of your bouns. But I played the SE of DMC V so it might be different?
So good to see someone enjoying Hack N' Slash games like me nowadays. A quick fact: In the Remaster (Special Edition) you have to get ALL the trophies there are DLC on the PS4 version if you want to Platinum... Capcom really knows how to make hard trophies.
Don't be embarrased for the secret mission. I got destroyed at it. Probably the hardest one because it includes the worst aspect of Devil May Cry: platforming-
I feel like how calm Tanner is genuinely offsets the brutal difficulty of this game. I only just beat son of sparda mode for the first time, and had to fight against each boss of the last 5 levels for HOURS before I was ready. Good on you, dude, you did fantastic.

6:40 ik this is late to comment but if you had special edition of game you have to get to mission 12 in legendary dark knight mode why you may ask because farming red orbs is way insane faster thanks to multiple enemys spawning there and this mode is keeping spawning so many enemys all you have to do is equip dr faust go to gunslinger style but this time you have to lock+foward+circle that way you summon meteor if you see first glow in hat this will kill all of them and give you so many red orb compared to what you were doing in there

You can actually die to the boss in mission 8 and still get the no damage. You have to no hit the boss's first phase where he is still sitting down. After you break his shield and trigger the cutscene, you can just get hit on the second phase to end the mission since getting hit in the second phase is scripted to trigger a cutscene instead of being counted as taking a hit.
Edit: ok as I'm hearing from replies to this comment, I was wrong about getting the no damage on mission 8, that only gives a no continue bonus. It's either I was playing hell and hell when I got that, mistaking it for a no damage, or I was having a fever dream. Apologies to whoever tried this tactic get an s rank on that mission lol.
No, I tried this, didn't work. Only way a no hit run could happen is if you beat him phase two (at that point you didn't even need the bouns points)
@@epicyoshi9515 huh, thats weird, I swore I've gotten a no hit like that before, and mission 8 is the only mission that has this scenario where one hit from the second phase instantly triggers the end of the fight.
@@Darenca You kindof wrong, because you don't die in one hit (unless in HAH or HOH mode) so the game still counts as you getting hit thus get rid of your bouns. But I played the SE of DMC V so it might be different?

I feel like how calm Tanner is genuinely offsets the brutal difficulty of this game. I only just beat son of sparda mode for the first time, and had to fight against each boss of the last 5 levels for HOURS before I was ready. Good on you, dude, you did fantastic.

6:40 ik this is late to comment but if you had special edition of game you have to get to mission 12 in legendary dark knight mode why you may ask because farming red orbs is way insane faster thanks to multiple enemys spawning there and this mode is keeping spawning so many enemys all you have to do is equip dr faust go to gunslinger style but this time you have to lock+foward+circle that way you summon meteor if you see first glow in hat this will kill all of them and give you so many red orb compared to what you were doing in there

You’re probably a lot better at this game than you’re letting on, but I respect the humility. Getting platinum in just 70 hours seems impressive. Some games take longer just to beat once. As a fellow DMC first-timer playing DMC5 and on my first play-through still, this video gives me hope lol

4:12 You know what though I think that's the beauty in devil may cry Because Loki that's what intracted me to play it in the 1st place I watched my cousin play 3 and I'm not gonna hold you I was terrible at it when I 1st started playing it but it was just something about it that just kept making me wanna play it more making me wanna get better at it and eventually I just got hooked
The only Devil May Cry game I have platinum right now is DmC. People can say what they want about that game but the fact of the matter is that game has some crazy good combat
One of the best combat sustems I have ever seen in a Hack N' Slash game. Love DmC!
It's incredible, that you repeat a Game over and over again because you have complete different difficultys without losing Motivation (meanwhile i bi*ch around, when i have to grind something for about 2 hours).
