@@garys_stuff when I was younger (and the Earth was cooling) I built a 1:72 A-6 Intruder by Frog while on holiday. It went together surprisingly well. It was clear that it needed weight to sit on its gear so I filled the nose radar cone with what I had-- lead shot and glue. But when I got home I discovered that the entire nose cone had collapsed in on itself. The model glue I used on the weights had melted the nose! Self-adhesive byxlcicle weights -- you learn something new every day! 😀
Very nice. I made the Merit 1/48 Hunter back in the 50s. What recall being impressed by was the separate canopy frame, and the size compared to the ubiquitous Airfix 1/72 offerings of the time!
Looks like a very nice kit. I do enjoy the episodic nature of your videos over the 4 days. I don't know if any other builder is doing that. Thanks Gary.
You made that look easy!. The fit of the parts look excellent but that's with your careful trimming and test fitting as you go. I had my doubts about this kit -- the Hunter is much bigger than it first appears-- but you ve allayed my suspicions and I think I may give it a try. A lovely bird!
I'd say there is a very good chance of it. Most, if not all, of the parts are already there - the tail cone for the parachute and a Matra rocket pod are already on the sprues. Maybe an RAF scheme plus one or two from export customers?
@@royalsaviationbabft7518 late 70s from Lossiemouth. Oddly enough I had also flown in a Comet 4C a couple of years earlier going on holiday (good old Dan-Air). What I wasn't prepared for was just how rough it is flying low over water.
I use Vallejo Metal Color - normally you use a black primer underneath it but this time I thought I'd lay it on a light surface to give it more brightness. The colour I used here is duraluminium, they do quite a few variants!
Bicycle wheel weights; what good and simple idea. Excellent.
Saves crunching up loads of lead shot...!
@@garys_stuff I must admit that was a cracking idea. Its these tips and hints that I'm picking up on that is really bringing my hobby on..

Wow! No filler. A fun build seems, indeed. Beautiful model 👏🏼, Sir!
It is fun Ramón!
Very good Gary another great video on the Hunter.
Thanks Dean!
Nice looking Model Gary, then I have always liked the Hunter.
Such a beauty. What's not to like?

It's a nice kit, Finlay. If I had the time I'd build another!
Another one on my “to do” list. Some useful guidance there. Thanks Gary.
My pleasure!
That did look like a fun build, and better landing gear assembly steps then "other kits" I've seen 👍 well done sir
Thanks 👍
Looks like a fun build. Looks like Airfix have done yet another great job.
Nice kit and rewarding to build. Well worth looking at - maybe if the do an FGA.9 soon???

Thanks Alan! Got to try to be different in this game I think...

It is a good kit. Yes, test fitting is always a good thing but this one had very little to worry about.

Nice build Gary! Thanks for sharing. Happy days and model on! 😎
Thanks as always Peter!
Excellent build son.
I've got one in the stash thanks again for sharing.
I'm looking forward to the next one 👍👍
Thanks Joe, just got to choose which one next...
Really enjoyed watching this build. Great job.
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@garys_stuff Thanks Gary. I noticed an unusual comment earlier. Looks like you have treated it with contempt it deservers.
surprisingly good kit and a great build. thanks!
Glad you like it!
Stunning :) ❤️🏆
Thank you! 😊
Now if only airfix would bring out the FGA ground attack version next.

Great build! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you! 👍
Wow this is very nice, if your free, can you build the air fix hawker siddeley nimrod? If you haven’t
Haven't built one yet - flown in one but not built one! I'll look at my schedule.
@@garys_stuff wow when did you fly in one?
