44:39 I don't know if you meant it didn't exist for crafter/gatherer quests specifically, but I know for a fact the little indicator below the MSQ quest indicator that gives you your class/job quests definitely existed (at least for the battlecraft classes) in Stormblood, since I started in 4.1 and as a sprout it was a huge help
@@SaltExarch yea, that sort of popped up on me and wasnt something I checked ahead of time, so I straight up wasn't sure.
I thought it was added in SB, but psyched myself out and thought it was later.
@@FruitySnacks I definitely understand that. A lot of the small QoL updates can blend together after you've been playing for a while. I've only been playing since Stormblood and I'll still sometimes forget when things were added/changed
I'd like "barbed hook" sets GP to ZERO, but reduces slip rate. No GP regen while active.
I really like the idea of having a "No GP Regen" buff. I think that could be very interesting.
Reducing the slip chance of !!! is the only thing I can think of that would be worth it. It would also make every big and legendary fish (okay, a few exceptions) easier, but also SLOWER.
And yes, by saying consume ALL GP, or reduce to 0 GP, but not 0 MAX GP, that allows the use of a cordial after you use it, and your stacks... but that is a KNOWN amount of GP, exactly even footing.
Only 1 hour? The DDOS must be wearing you down a ton.
I'm always happy to hear about FFXIV history though, usually you hear about job changes like Caster Bard in Heavensward or the eternal Kaiten discussion but nothing about crafting or fishing.
oh DDOS's are fine. It's just an hour because that's all the quiet time I had to record, lol.
Got to the end of the video, I'm absolutely looking forward to hearing how Surface Slap *decimated* some older fish.
As sometime who started fishing in the final patch of Endwalker (6.55 specifically, didn't hit level cap until DT came out), it's absolutely fascinating to think that ARR fishing just used to be cast and mooch and that's it. Nowadays you get chum and patience 1 so much sooner than HW levels, probably in part because of that initial response to fishing being a mostly passive activity that you could genuinely do while cooking. And also yes you're right fishing is hilariously overwhelming to learn right now because you've essentially got to learn the mechanics behind Mooch, Patience, Intuition/Double Hook/Triple Hook, Surface Slap, Prize Catch, and Lures.
I must be misremembering, but Helicoprion was one of my early nemesis fish, and when I got around to trying for it, I recall it had multiple week-long downtimes. Maybe that's just my hatred for it skewing my memories (or that I only committed to memories windows I could make without ruining my sleep schedule).
@@BigfootGolem very, very, very few fish multiweek downtime. Helicoprion is tied to a very common weather, so it's very unlikely it was down for weeks. Days, maybe. Weeks, unlikely.
@@FruitySnacks I think I might have just gotten unlucky, double checking it is a couple of weather transition conditions, each with 2% chance, so maybe just a poor mix of luck and bad hours, so perhaps not week long breaks, but just unfavourable memory recollections.
So 1 hitting the ex primals is still not a thing really. But both smn and pictomancer have attacks with big enough potency that you can kill the arr ones before they can do anything. Picto more so than smn. While smn can set up with buff and then use "akh morn and death flare" picto can instacast rainbow road followed by the pom rain, which hast more potency. Iirc ramuh will be dead too with picto.
You can one shot ARR primals using the self destruct method as a BLU mage provided they don't have a soft lock for a transition (namely Shiva and Ramuh). Unfortunately going Heavensward onwards, most iirc have required phases or one hit ko mechanics.
