    Got this game and played a couple of games bow with my friends, we really like it. Superb design and easy to learn.

    A trend I noticed, when everyone is mid to low, Chris comes in with a seal of excellence, lol. when everyone is high, Chris comes in low. No shade, just something in my head I predict when watching these reviews.

    Cannot wait for this. I ordered it to play with my 7 year old so hopefully the shipping from US will be worth it😅.

    This is for me a Yatzee Gatefall. Just a fun short brutal experience. I look forward to getting my hands on it.

    Can anyone identify the game in the allplay ad at 4:45 with the player screens?

    Any idea how this compares to Gatefall? I know Mike DiLisio enjoys that one.

    Sounds like I would grow bored of it after a few games since there's only 4 characters. It needs 8 to start with and several expansions to bring it up to 16 quickly. The minis are useless. They should have gone with standees and concentrated on making the game replayable instead of just looking pretty. The minis are a negative for me...All they do is increase the cost for no good reason. Make a good complete game first then give the player the option to buy minis separately.

      Coming from someone who has played it about 15 times, I haven't gotten tired of it even though there's only 4 characters. "More stuff" doesn't always mean "more replayability."

      There are tons of games where there is absolutely no asymmetry between players that are well loved and amazing.

      same here this will bore me after 3 plays just like Fantasy realms and that game has lots of race? and cards lol ,i agree on standees to at least lower the price and also with Tom about the game taking itself seriously,, i think this type of games is good if you have lots of gaming groups to play with

      Have a look at DT preview from Mark. With the 2 expansions, they appear to go up to 6 chars for now.

    Think you guys should get the average and not the highest score, having all these games with seal of excellence seems odd.

    • @MrNood1e
      @MrNood1e 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Why is that a bad thing? Game reviews are subjective, and people like different games. Having different scores reflects that. If you lump them all into one average, that doesn't really reflect each individual's view or experience of the game. If anything, the seals are kind of an outdated idea and should probably go away.

    • @frozenbear9457
      @frozenbear9457 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I think the point being made is to have each individual score as it is. Then average those to get to where it would land on their award system. Completely agree that games are subjective, but when 3 out of 4 give a score below seal of excellence, it probably doesn't fairly reflect what the Dice Tower as a whole thinks of the game. They could have gone with Tom's score as the only one to use and it would get no seal. So weighting it out to come in at approval instead of excellence based on these scores would make more sense to me.

    • @MrNood1e
      @MrNood1e 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@frozenbear9457 Except that it's not the DT as a whole giving their opinion; it's just four people of DT. For all we know, everyone else at the DT could give it a seal of excellence as well. I think the problem is that many people want to say "The DT gave this game this score." but that's not how it should be looked at, because the DT isn't monolith. The DT is a group of people with diverse opinions on games. So it should be looked at as "Tom of the DT gave it this score, and Chris gave it this score."
      This goes back to my point that the seals don't serve any real purpose to the audience. Seals are, at best, good for publishers to use as marketing. The point of the review is to hear the diverse opinions from the crew, then make your own purchasing choice. This focus on the seals is so weird to me. Is anyone out there buying games solely based off what seal the DT gives a game? I doubt it, but if they are, that's pretty foolish.

    • @whattox
      @whattox 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Tom has already explained this several times. Before the current setup of different people, the one with the highest score would do the review. So if Tom, Roy, Zee and Chris had played the same game but all of them gave it a 6 except for Zee who gave it an 8.5, that would be the final score and you would only see a solo review with Zee. Now you have the opportunity to hear several voices but the greatest score still dictates which game gets a seal - it only requires one DT member who loves the game. Tom values every DT member's opinion equally, and the best thing to do (if you dislike the seal system) is to align your interests with a reviewer with similar taste.

      @@whattoxYeah I remember a top 10 where they mentioned Zee got garbage from fans because he gave some WW2 stealth game a bad score, and Tom & Sam? revealed that they hated the game much more than Zee did.
