      For a newbie with a Mevo Plus streaming/recording for the time this weekend, what vids would you recommend. I’d planned to control from my iPhone. Don’t have a jetpack (yet), and am using an external power bank. I really like the overlay addition...do you think it’s a bit much to manage? Either way, thanks for any help! T

      As far as overlays, there is a flow you get into. And a LOT of what you need should be done before game time. Load your bases (I’m about to share the ones I made on the Mevo Customer Group on FB) into the Mevo app before you go to the game. Only have to do this once. If your team tends to score in bunches, you’ll find yourself changing the over the shoulder often or just resigning to do it each half inning. Keeping the mic muted if there is music is a thing as well. Copyrights and all. But for the past couple seasons I’ve public address announced the games while I streamed them. Once you get in the rhythm it works.

    I’m a new subscriber and ran across you videos because my son plays baseball on a 12U travel ball team and I usually record as much as I can with my I phone to help with review of practice and games. I would like to step up my game and invest in something decent to record for review and improvement but also to live stream. Any suggestions for a beginner(Go pro? ) (Mevo?). I’ve never used anything but iPad or iPhone. Would appreciate and advise before I make a purchase.

      Thanks for the subscribe! I have videoed with GoPro, Obsbot Tail (great idea, horrible implementation), iPhone and Mevo. The Mevo is the best hands down. Quality recording to an sd card and streaming is as easy as signing in to facebook in the Mevo app. I will tell you recordings are divided into blocks if going over so many minutes. Just how the software handles the files.

    • @JasonHoffmanYT
      @JasonHoffmanYT  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      As it turns out, the tracking part is rather elusive. I have tested and researched several products and tracking just isn’t developed enough for the consumer. Auto tracking for NFL players is pretty new and it takes each player wearing a device for the tracker/camera to pick up.

    Hello Jason, Thanks for this informative video. are you still using the Mevo start? Is the field of view enough to see first and third? Is it still worth they buy for what you use it for in the games?

    • @JasonHoffmanYT
      @JasonHoffmanYT  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes I still use it. Our home field is deep enough behind home plate to see both 1st and 3rd in one shot.
      This fall I’m streaming football games by mounting it on top of a Pivo pod that allows panning to catch the entire field when set up at the 50 yard line.
      Definitely worth the investment. Thanks!

    • @kmurphy12
      @kmurphy12 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JasonHoffmanYT yes. I just saw one of your videos come up where you talk about vimeo- I think thats where you do yours. • @JasonHoffmanYT
      @JasonHoffmanYT  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      LOL the rabbit holes are the best! I have the Vimeo subscription that allows me to do the overlays you see in this video as well as multi-stream to various platforms. But I stream to a TH-cam channel and share the link to Facebook. Keep in mind your families don’t have to have a Facebook account(if you choose to stream to FB), they just need the link, which you can email out as the stream starts. I haven’t streamed to Vimeo, but hear some folks have a good experience with it. YMMV

  • @chadbundy9205
    @chadbundy9205 ปีที่แล้ว

    Question that you may know the answer too. I know you don't use GameChanger for your streaming, but our team does. I am tkaing over video duties and want to use multiple Mevos (two set ups to capture batters swings from sideview and 1 of the whole field from behind umpire). For the stream we use the behind the umpire setup. GameChanger will cut clips for each player to review. Is there a way to incorporate the batter sideview cameras into the GameChanger player clips even though that is not the camera being streamed?

    • @JasonHoffmanYT
      @JasonHoffmanYT  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can use the Picture in Picture feature of the Multicam app and have the batter as an inset. GameChanger will only receive the view you have active in Multicam so if it’s not the batter they won’t get it.

    Jason, have you tried to overlay the Pocket Radar smart coach app in the Mevo app?

    • @JasonHoffmanYT
      @JasonHoffmanYT  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have not. Does it generate scoreboard, pitch count etc?

    • @stevestreeter250
      @stevestreeter250 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JasonHoffmanYT No. the Pocket Radar smart coach app just provides pitch velocity. The app is loaded on to a phone and the app takes readings from the Pocket Radar via Wi-Fi. I use other overlays for scoreboard and other graphics. I am looking at upgrading from my current 1 camera system for streaming softball/baseball to a multi-camera system that would also capture the Pocket Radar app readings. The system I like the most so far is SlingStudio. The Mevo/Vimeo system is less expensive so was cruising TH-cam for other options.

    • @JasonHoffmanYT
      @JasonHoffmanYT  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s pretty seamless once you find a groove. I stream and PA the games from the pressbox. If the score changes several times in an inning I may be behind getting that updated but most of the time it flows with the game.
