Game Changer has a big opportunity with a camera to stream and not overheat with a good battery and mount as well as screen and 5g service. Pop it on the fence go through camera menus and start stream. Walk away with a option to look at stream from your phone if you want, or get notifications if your stream has ended on your phone. All this Tech is out it is crazy to me that with all the money and interest in youth sports that there is almost nothing available to cater to this. Anyways i just had to get this off my chest because of all the issues with parents and trying to watch my own kid during the game! Cheers

The whole purpose of me considering a Mevo is that it wouldn't tie up my phone to the live stream. I need to run GC and stream. After watching your video, it looks like Mevo will tie up my phone to where I can't run GC without a 2nd phone. I'm not willing to buy another phone.
Do you know of another camera that will use my phone as a hot spot, but I'm still able to open GC and input plays on the field?

That was a big misconception of mine when I bought it. It took me a few games to figure out that you can’t do both. It’s a disappointing aspect of the device. I do understand how you feel. We either need to trust someone else to input plays or stream game changer with another phone 😆. I had an old phone so I was able to come up with a solution, but there is not a camera that’ll allow you to do both without a device in between. GoPro had its own issues like this, but it always overheated. Mevo and GoPro are the only ones I know that will work with GC. Thanks for commenting!

Really appreciate the video. My big question is, wouldnt it be way easier using a older cell phone with service? I was all in untill mevo still needed a dedicated cell phone. I run game changer video from a old samsung phone but wanted to try something better. Cell phone service is always a issue at certain fields

It would definitely be easier if you had dedicated cell to that old phone!

nice instructions. I’ve been using my phone camera to stream and connect an iPad via the phone’s hotspot to score GC. my verizon plan limits data if connected to a hotspot so I know I’m going to chew through it if the mevo is connected. does your cell plan limit the data for personal hotspots? I know it throttles the speed once I hit the limit and would assume that would affect the stream.

We have Verizon and we get a certain amount at high speed and it just limits our upload speeds afterwards. If I know I’m over our preferred limit, I just change the output res on the file to counteract any streaming issues. Thanks for the comment!

I too have found some of the issues with Gopro and gamechanger keeping a consistent stream. Sometimes choppy, sometimes is stops and ive got to restart the stream. I have a mobile hotspot onsite and just connect my 3 devices to my hotspot. Ipad, iphone, go pro. Iphone for the stream and Ipad to score the GC game. What im getting at is the mevo the same setup and worth the buy? Looks like the same process but reason I am looking at the mevo is the stream/quality and a better zoom than Gopro 10. oh and not shutting off. Battery life for mevo? Can we zoom in the mevo? Sorry for the long winded questions. Great video BTW, I like the tutorial with the iphone on the screen.

I can usually get 3 games with one charge on the mevo. It lets you zoom in any area on the screen. If you get multiple mevos, you can set up different camera and alter which one streams in the mevo app. The zoom is ok, the battery is so much better than the GoPro.

Does the phone need to be on the whole time it’s recording?

So you can stream with the mevo off of cell signal? No WiFi needed?

Is the mevo that much better than just using the iPhone camera? Was hoping if I used a mevo camera I could stream and run GC with my iPad but based on your video that won’t work.

I like it a lot more, it saves the full files and I can use them later instead of just the game changer clips. To score GC on your iPad, you would need to just have your phone serve as a hotspot for mevo, the mevo app would need to stay open, and you could run GC on your phone.
      I hope this helps!

@@BrickBuildingKids thanks for the quick reply. Are you streaming under a different GC account also? I have run into issues streaming and scoring under the same GC account.

I don’t bother with external cameras I have the first GEN streaming me, though it looks like a cylinder. I find that it overheats all the time and shuts off the power. So what I do is I just use a second iPhone with an unlimited data plan to stream to the cell data and then on my main phone I scored the game. No Wi-Fi no hotspot none of that crap is needed. Just stream game from phone mounted on fence and score game from phone in your hand.
