BI seems to be really sensitive and creative type of person. And being under pressure in YG to fill in such big shoes like gd, big bang and being leader of Ikon ... He must have carried a lot of burden on his shoulders since he was a traine even before he turned 130, he must have suffered a lot, a lot being lonely and depressed, and drugs and stuff are used mostly when reality is so bad you want to escape it from time to time. BI is a really creative and multitalented guy, it would have been a loss for kpop fans if he didn't come back. I'm very happy seeing him back and successful and getting lot of love from fans.
Those people who judge him harshly should also look at themselves, as if they have never done no wrong in the past and as if they are saints. Everyone deserves a second chance, especially a Sincere artist like BI.

Some facts that were left out: Yes, he really did use some weed thrice in 2016. He also purchased lsd but he didn’t use it. There were already investigations done then (in 2016), all his drug tests came out negative then and negative again when the investigation was reopened in 2019. In Sept 10, 2021, he got sentenced to 4 years probation with community service, medication lectures plus he had to pay a fine. He complied with all of these and is currently on his second year of probation.
I hope this is clear because I don’t want any people saying that we fans are in denial of this issue.
Also, I should emphasize that he didn’t use weed for recreation or because he wanted to be a genius or some sort. He was a teenager who was overworked (barely sleeping, resting, etc) and he thought that it was the only way to feel better. Obviously, he already acknowledged these and has faced the consequences of his actions. He humbled himself in front of everyone, not even blaming the system that made him do it.
I’m glad that he came out of this wiser, stronger, and healthier.

honestly, he faced too harsh of a punishment for his "crime." I myself don't like the use of drugs, even for medical reasons, and strive to stay far away from any, but really? All of this for using marijuana 3 times? Three, not one hundred, simply THREE. That's crazy. I mean 4 years probation with community service and fine, along with getting blacklisted by millions of STRANGERS for using a drug that will only harmyourself (initially anyways)? Hell, alcohol is more harmful than marijuana in every aspect, yet they LOVE when idols go live or talk about which beer they'll have with their dinner. That's insane. Yet, they let murders and rapists walk around like there's no tmrw. Smh, they need to take a look at their system and sort our their priorities fr.

The “fall” was unnecessary. Given the context of how other crimes against women and children are ignored and accosted. For example: in the Netflix documentary about a chat room for s*xually and emotionally torturing female minors, the news of it on the front page didn’t outrage the general public there. Another example: a man trying to save a woman who was clearly running away from being assaulted and then assaulted, while staff looked on (you can see the whole thing in a security camera video) during the Burning Sun scandal, and this man was beaten to a pulp by the policemen who were there, until he had to be hospitalised. Not sure what happened to the lady. The scandal at the time involved dr*ging women so they can be 🍇

Even after LS success, and YGE said He would release a solo album, Hanbin denied it and said its not his time yet bcs he want people focused on the grup. With all his sleepless night, and sleep walking in airport, people should knew he doing this not only for himself. And one thing i really like about him, after his solo debut, he always be careful not to mention the grup bcs he knew media could make his word to something else which could be harmful for the grup. All he did just he said sorry to his fans and everyone. Now, im happy he is surrounded by people who really care and loves him. No more sleepless night, no more sleep walking in airport. I had a discussion with a kpop Stan a few days about about this. She swears drinking is fine, but smoking is the worst thing possible
I'm like drinking causes people to actually commit crimes. You don't hear of people doing harm to because they smoked a cigarette.
In America, you don't even hear of that because of smoking weed
I don't get why people thinking drinking is fine and harmless. It's horrible

According to this vid I could not be considered a netizen. When the news of his actions first came out and then the proceeding images of him running off to the Han River by himself I was worried and felt absolutely bad for him. The idol life is an extremely lonely path when it comes to dealing with one's mental hurdles and it sucked that he was caught making an "non idol-like" decision. People who never were, are not, and never will be idols can't understand the specific pains and struggles idols go through, but will themselves have made terrible life decisions at some point in their lives. Those folks could spare a little understanding and empathy. Hanbin puts out quality music, he is still able to produce and collaborate with fellow artists and the friends he had before still stuck around even during the "scandal" which to me doesn't sound like someone who deserves all the canceling and blacklisting he got. I hope his label grows bigger and stronger as well as his career so that cancel culture can no longer affect him.

Also he did a lot of charity during his inactive times, most of these weren’t even known until months later when some people who were part of the institutions would mention it, he even attended to various charity projects made by ID’s (his fandom) to support the projects and even took hot drinks and other stuff to support the fans and the charities during the project.
I become and iKONIC when love scenario came out and my first impression of them as beings was when I saw their show iKON TV, and I remember thinking that B.I was such a sweet soul, there’s one episode where he went hiking with the staff and after that he invited them to eat and he spoke about his past self and how he realized that he wasn’t acting in the best way and how worked to change things, and I remember being really surprised for him to openly talk about it and accept his past mistakes and work on them, this was many moths before all this mess came out.
After I ended the show I watched Mix & Match and I could see what he was talking about, even though he was having so much going on at that time he definitely but you can definitely see a contrast between both B.Is.
That’s why my heart completely broke when all the scandal happened, I felt terrible for him, not gonna lie, I felt like if someone close to me had died, I was so worried about him that it even affected my daily life, I was terribly sad. This person became so much for me in such a short time, I can say that he was kinda like a safe place for me. I would literally hold on to every single proof of existence from him, I would listen to his demos in SoundCloud every single day and when he finally came back I felt like my heart got restored.
He’s honestly a wonderful human being and he honestly didn’t deserve to go through all this shit, but I want to think that everything happens for a reason.

I can only think of people who've actively been purchasing and utilising dr*gs. Ilhoon, Yoo Ah In, etc., who've been almost wiped from air. But they aren't in the same situation as B.I was. Didn't a bunch of Kpop idols get away with being literal bigots? No consequences to sexism, racism, queerphobia, etc., no? Why are those people not curious about how truly terrible idols keep having a career?
*Deep sigh* I feel like I need to say this. I've been a K-pop fan since a little before Shinee's debut. I noticed B.I after he (as a 11/12 y/o) appeared in the (horribly racist) Mc Mong music video. Then we saw him with other kpop groups like SNSD and 2NE1. Once he joined YG and started training, though, people started saying he resembled G-dragon bc GD and Taeyang had joined YG around the same age as B.I did and then, the expectations set in.
He made a comeback in the industry bc he's a genuinely good person and an extraordinarily talents musician who has gained the respect and love of many of his seniors. Before his scandal, he did his best for iKON at every turn and for the fans whenever he could. HE requested to push HIS solo debut to give iKON a comeback with Love Scenario --- which reinvigorated iKON's popularity to a never-seen-before level. Imagine if he hadn't done that, though? iKON was well on the way towards disbandment bc so many K-iKONICs actively boycotted them in 2017 when they returned with Bling Bling and B-Day after they basically disappeared on tour to Japan for a year and a half. People forget the weight this child had to carry through his trainee years, through Who Is Next, Mix & Match and Show Me The Money. If you'd been him, where everyone kept calling you the "next GD" and you were just a boy with no social life, barely a school and family life, and just completely consumed by training at your company, how would you deal with having to take part in 3 survival shows back to back, 2 which could've ended the careers of all the other boys if B.I had slipped up in his duties as leader, choreography, lyricist, composer, and lead rapper? :)

bobby's post was causing days of stupid fanwar coz reading comprehension apparently a lost art. people took his message apart and cherry picked words to feel offended for, ignoring he said repeatedly that BI is his brother and he can't stop loving him, telling us to give him a chance and support him. if they weren't that close, he wont be feeling hurt or abandoned, it's bcoz their bond was very strong. double b y'all, dont act like it never exist.
and my beloved son BI. i cant even express how proud i am. saying that he changed, well not really, he's always been that talented and a wonderful human being.
why he can bounce back and get so much support? BECAUSE HE'S A GOOD KID with enormous talent that is too good to waste. a hardworking, polite kid that is nice to everyone. his comeback is well deserved.

Actually one striking difference he has done when he did his comeback is that not just to focus with Korea. He survived by also have a more international presence than Korean presence. I think that has propelled his positivity rather than just focusing on the negativity of korean media. Because not all korean artist has an international presence to be able to survive. One other artist that has this same scenario was Kim jaejoong. Even if he was banned in Korea he survived due to his international presence mainly in Japan and that greatly help his survival. So therefore it's not just talent that will have help you survive especially with all the negativity from korean media but to have a more non korean centric approach to you career will be more beneficial than anyone can think. And mind you yes maybe there are korean fans stuck thick and thin with BI but his international fans greatly help also by being a constant positivity to his career endeavors. So lesson learn. It doesn't hurt to diversified your presence because in the end it might save your life and also your career.
