I just got done doing this on my '88 Chevy V30, which is a square body 1 ton dually 4x4 (or should I say 6x6?). Got the sliding window and rubber from Brothers, and watched this video several times. Video was invaluable!! I got a friend to help me, and had him watch the video with me so that we'd be on the same page. Install was pretty straight forward, following your instructions. Thank you so much!
Glad I found your video. Just got done doing it a couple days ago. Tried it the first time with just plastic trim tools and no luck. Found your video about using the rope and fully installed in about 35 min. Thanks a bunch.
I just bought a 72 long bed and I thought LMC was my only one stop place for parts. Well oh boy thanks to TH-cam i feel like I've win the lottery. Not only does brothers beat their prices and quality, they know how to install them and show you how. I look forward to dealing with you guys 👍
Good Job...I really like your series about working at the Chevys...I restore a 86 Suburban here in Germany and many of your Workshops I can use for my Chevy....thank you!!!!
Soaking the rope in soapy water is a good tip! Wish I wouldve known it a month ago when I installed mine. Tore the gasket in a place or two on the inside. No leaks but it bothers me it's there lol.
Man, I wrestled with an '86 C-10 this weekend. Your video helped. But, I still didn't get the glass all the way in (after market glass and rubber from LMC.
5:51 Something I was wondering about when &how long to install your rear glass window on any classic truck 11:47 see have those window holders in case 2 hands is not enough.
Man that looks pretty simple. I’ve watched this several times before trying to install a factory slider with a seal from LMC and it’s fighting me the whole way and isn’t sitting right. I’m sitting between trying your seal or just trying to install a solid back window.
Love your videos. Does brothers sell a kit to restore the sliding window? I have a rear sliding window but the weather stripping is getting a little worn and I would like to replace rebuild it, if you will.
I have a 1989 ford f150 and the rear window gasket around the window is all rusted I didn’t want to change the window cause it’s still in good condition however I don’t know if I take the old gasket off does the back window come out or can I just switch my gasket out?
if you're thinking about doing this yourself i just want to accentuate a few key points. Lots of Lube, Heat the rubber for better stretching, and NO METAL TOOLS. Take your time and this is actually a pretty easy job.
Great video!! I have one question I have an 82 c10 I’m looking to replace my rear glass when I go to buy new glass on your website it gives me a choice between a large glass and small? What’s the difference I thought on these square bodies all had same size unlike earlier c10s please help, how do I know which to order?
Sorry about that, we're updating those descriptions now. The Large window fits all the C10, C20, C30 trucks and the Small window is for the larger trucks like C50's and C60's.
Love the videos super helpful and always ordering from brothers, making my 70 GMC 2500 better paycheck to paycheck Off topic question I was looking at the flip kit video, I can't find one for my truck or will the 73-87 work?
Thanks for watching! regarding the flip kit, you're kinda on your own. Nothing is available for the 2500, and the later Squarebody kit can't be adapted. Luckily, flipping axles has been a hot rodding staple for decades, so it won't be that hard to do yourself, or find someone who will.
wished you had reused that SS Trim from the solid glass, which is what I'll be doing with my 72 C10 Sliding window (reusing the factory SS Rear Trim from the solid glass). but I do appreciate the video, made during COIVD no less! Also, I really can't see how one person could do this, even with suction cups!
Man this guy is great, he would have made a fantastic brain surgeon, the way he has control over his hands is incredible.
I will be attempting this again tomorrow for the 3rd time.

Great story! Thanks for sharing!

Right on!
😂😂😂😊gaàd
So that's how it's done. Thank you so much. Great video!

Glad you found us! Good luck with your project!
1987 gmc sierra. We did it. With the help of my wife daughter and I the exact same window. Thanks

You are welcome! Enjoy your project!
thank for nice clear voice easy to follow, and very skillful job. keep going on Brothers Truck!

Dang, what a bummer.

Nicely done! Thx for the demonstration!!
5:51 Something I was wondering about when &how long to install your rear glass window on any classic truck 11:47 see have those window holders in case 2 hands is not enough.
You can also use the holders to aid the install if you don't have a second person to help you.
Great video, love the sliding rear windows as well! Keep ‘em coming!
Thanks for watching!
You make it look so easy
These rope windows really aren't that hard. This one went in in less than 5 minutes real time.

Are you or would you be able later to show how to rewire and/or install dual gas tanks on a 80s model Chevy?? I am gonna be need to do this soon.
We'll add that to our list.
Some flat handed slapping and don't worry about the taint. Thats good advice right there!😂✌️🍩
Love your videos. Does brothers sell a kit to restore the sliding window? I have a rear sliding window but the weather stripping is getting a little worn and I would like to replace rebuild it, if you will.
Lots of open hand slapping makes all the difference. These are a lot of work but worth the time. 👍
Believe it or not, this was less than 5 minutes to pull in to the frame. Sometimes you just get lucky!
Can this be done to a second generation Silverado (2007-2013)?
Thanks! Glass cleaner the trick!
Which seal is for the rope installation? I see standard and deluxe on the web link. Thanks
Great work, thanks !

What is that foam you are spraying on the pinch welds and gasket?
It's window cleaner, similar to Windex, but in a spray can, it's called Spray Away.

Will the deluxe rear window seal with chrome trim fit on slider windows?
Why wouldn't it?
Can u do that with the solid glass? Also wat size rope do we need?
Yes, exactly the same process with solid glass. We use a cloth laundry rope that's about 1/4" thick.

The window and trim he pulled out in the beginning is from a previous install video showing how to do it with the trim.
What part is the rubber seal. Number ?
I did this. Never want to again 😂
Where is the gasket sealant? That window will leak once the gasket shrinks.
Can’t do with front seat in?
You could, just easier with it out.
I wish Dave would stop spending my money. 😆
Thumbs down? Guess they hate sliders!🤡
We guess not.
