Funny he used the Godfather reference. Don Novello had a small part in Godfather III, and when they went to the Vatican to shoot, he was not allowed in as he was on the list from an unauthorized SNL sketch they had shot or at least tried to shoot from several years before that.

Father Guido Sarducci was fucking awesome! Now - here is an idea for the modern SNL: Host the presidential debate, for real, with real questions and expecting real answers, but with a few SNL-comedy questions tossed off to make it fun and to keep the audience alive. Why SNL? SNL is known to be somewhat equally hostile to just about any president across time. Softball questions aren't expected to be common, and fact-checkers will be on hand. Also, comedians tell the truth in ways regular media cannot. So, what says you?

I remember back in the days Dennis Miller had a sense of humor.... seems he did.... then something happened.... whatever that was...dunno....... he stopped seeing the absurdity in his own thinking, then got angry and weird. I watched him change right before my eyes. I was a fan of his comedy show.... but started noticing his "monologues" getting more and more nasty and angry to the point of being just disturbing, no longer having any humor.

I was a kid and saw this, so I sent the self addressed envelope and actually got back a certificate of my status as pope in the People's Catholic Church. Unfortunately it's been lost in ER the years but I got one .

Making fun of the Catholic church was SPOT ON & WELL DESERVED. While they were doing it on SNL, young boys were being hurt for life by priests.
