Jordan Dreyer, on top of being a godly lyricist, has masterful vocal control in studio gracefully drifting from spoken to shouting (not so much screaming I'd say). This song in particular always reminds me of the film Enter the Void with the voyeuristic camera. Excited for more!
The song is about a real event two of the guys in the band used to work in a store on the same street the shooting happened, Jordan said it showed the brutality of everyday life! Great band reminds me of early at the drive in and thursday!
please do either I See Everything or Edward Benz by this band, those two songs along with King Park make up a trilogy on the album on which they appear. All three songs are beautiful!
This is actually a true story in Michigan. If you didn’t catch the lyrics “his uncle begging and plead” something like that. The shooter actually was on the phone and asked his uncle if he could still get into heaven if he kills himself. As for the perspective of a 3rd person view. The vocalist is just a poet, and a super genius. He can make his listeners feel the Scenario of each and every individual in the story. That’s being a 3rd person story teller. It’s absolutely genius in music writing.

there isn't a store near where the shooting happened, only a bodega which i'm 99% sure he didn't work at
The real story is that Jordans mom knew the mother's who's kid died.
