Usually I hate stories that are detailed and really good, and they end with a cliffhanger for you to finish it how you want... so annoying.... BUT THIS SONG, it was perfect in the way it ended, mainly because it leaves me with some very deep questions to ponder....
The story is based on a real story (i think the shooting they talking about was 2008). The talk between the unkel and the shooter did actually happen. And in the real story he did kill himself
AloeVera I had a feeling it was true... the story is truly sad, and I liked that he left you wondering what happens next because like I said, the questions left unanswered is what makes you put yourself into the story and contemplate your reactions... from both sides... this song told the story very well,
I watched all three of your la dispute reaction videos and I really appreciated how you took your time to talk about the importance of the instrumentation in this album. Also how you took your time to talk about the different sections and put the timer back a few seconds when you continued listening. I would love to hear you speak more about the imagery, the metaphors used in such songs. "All those marks of youth, soon transformed coldly into stone" is so powerful and beautiful for example. Also "I felt the burden of murder, it shook the earth to the core". Another absolute great one by them is "harder harmonies" soooo good, you should definetely make a video about that! Cheers to you and have a great year!
Love the commentary from different perspectives on this song. You brought a great view into how the instrumental really complimented the changes of the song.
GRAND RAPIDS - After the drive-by murder of a 16-year-old boy he did not know, Kyle Keenan - alone and on the lam - made a phone call to relatives talking about heaven and suicide. "He was asking the family would he still go to heaven if he committed suicide. We told him, 'Don't kill yourself, boy,'" said his uncle, Larry Keenan. Tuesday afternoon Larry Keenan recalled those words moments after he was shattered to hear from police that his 21-year-old nephew shot himself in a hotel room as armed police in riot gear closed in.
I've watched a few different reactions of King Park. Quite frankly the I don't believe anyone quite grasps the gravity that the entirety of Wildlife lends to King Park. The entire album as a story. Regardless, this is good content.
Hey AlphaTyler I think you would like to hear Han-Tyumi & The Murder Of The Universe by King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard!!! The music video helps with the concept of the song. Cheers from Perú.
Heya! I don’t really take paid requests except on Thursdays. If you are interested in donating for a reaction, we do live requests every Thursday at 9 pm EST and priority requests are $5+. That said, feel free to subscribe and be active in the community. I love La Dispute and I definitely don’t mind throwing your request on my list :)
Love the in depth reaction my dude. Only concern is that the amount of pauses (specifically at the end) really takes away from the true emotion the song will give you. But I also know it’s hard to recollect everything once it’s over so this still deserves a thumbs up 👍 it’s been a while, but listen to it again all the way through!
"I felt the burden of murder It shook the Earth to the core" ALWAYS gives me chills.
