Thank you for having Dr. Nigro speak on skin cancer. My mom had breast cancer when she was 73 years old. She survived chemo, radiation & eventually a mastectomy. About a year later, she asked me to scratch her back. Thank goodness she did. My heart sank. There was a very large black colored area on her right shoulder. It had irregular borders. I knew it was melanoma. So off to the Oncologist we go again. Then to the Surgeon who performed her mastectomy. It was malignant melanoma. I forget what stage. But luckily it hadn’t spread. My mom & I have very fair skin & stay out of the sun as much as we can. So my dear mom survived HER2+ breast cancer & malignant melanoma in her 70’s only to be diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease 10 years later. I’m an only child. I’m her caregiver. She took care of me now it’s my turn to take care of her.🙏🙌🙌💜

Dominique, you just keep hitting it out of the park !!! Fantastic podcast with an amazing physician ! Dr. Marjory is so informative, intelligent, and just so warm and congenial. Please have her come back to discuss antiaging skincare that is very specific to sensitive skin yet strong enough to be efficacious and maintain the skin's moisture barrier.

I wish insurance would cover dermatology visits like it would regular physical check ups. It seems insurance will only cover dermatology visits if your main position find something wrong with your skin. It Hass to be a serious skin condition.

  • @charliesonkin8946

Can you also have on Dr Dray/ dermatologist. She is in Houston too💜

  • @lisaparker7530

I love your content but this video was tooooooo long.

  • @kristinam2719

Hate to say, she sounds like Roseanne Rosanadana from SNL!

  • @ellenlopez3090

She seems to contradict every other dermatologist on sunscreen amount.

  • @elizabethscott3048

I love Dr. Nigro! Thanks for having her on, Dominique.

Had a dark mole on forearm that two dermatologists thought was not a problem even though it had a red halo and itched. After 5 years my daughter said get it checked as it looked larger. Went back to first derm as he had measured and it grew from 3mm to 5mm. He still didn't think it was a problem but if it bothered me get a biopsy. Turned out to be melanoma stage 1 Clark's level 2. I would of had a much smaller scar and wouldn't have been cancer if it had been removed 5 years earlier. Fast forward 5 more years derm discovered light colored mole with dark specks. She was taking no chances and biopsied. Again Melanoma insitu. It has been another 5 years and doing well. Dermatologists can save your life.

  • @GummyCandy4Life

I’ve never had a dermatologist ask me if I wanted a skin check and I’m 52 and have been going to various ones since I was 16 so shame on them!

  • @lorifoxworth6485

Thank you for your podcast and for having Dr. Nigro speak about skin cancer. I am a Stage 4 Metastatic Melanoma Survivor and it is so important to understand how to care for our skin and prevent skin cancer(s).

  • @ggjj999

My father passed away from skin cancer earlier this year. I had so many concerns and questions. This interview was so educational and helpful. Thanks ever so much to both of you. You both have amazing skin. 🙋🏼‍♀️🇨🇭💕

  • @robynsandberg4159

I cannot thank you enough Dominique and Dr. Marjorie. It has been well over two years that I had a body skin check and I definitely was a sun worshipper in my youth. Thanks to you guys I am making an appointment to have one done tomorrow!!!!! Wish I could find a dermatologist like Dr. Marjorie!! Dominique, you are the best and I'm so glad that I found you!!!

  • @glorialush9598

I had pre-cancerous melanoma on my face and had it taken care of. It took two procedures in the doctor’s office, and so happy that I had this done. Great information this week from Dr. Nigro. 😊

  • @kimim2702

I am very fair and had my first skin check recently at 69 and, thankfully, no cancer or pre-cancer was found. I have a few large keratosis spots that will be “shaved” soon for cosmetic reasons. It was reassuring as I feared those keratosis spots might be cancer. This was a great episode and the doctor’s enthusiasm was wonderful.

As a Brazilian woman, I am very proud of the Doctor always speaking with authority, I love this representation of Brazilians as people who study, are educated, intellectuals. able to contribute and integrate with different cultures. and not because they were Brazilians, they entered the country through the door. Thank you Dominique for this space.
