- These are the must have Fallout 4 mods that STILL WORK after the next gen update that just went live. In this video, I will showcase Fallout 4 PC Mods and Fallout 4 Console Mods (primarily Xbox, as PlayStation has a very limited mod pool), which will substantially improve your experience. I don't like giant overhaul mods and try to keep things close to the original intent. As such all of the mods in this list will improve your visual experience, and performance while not compromising on the game's original vision. @@saltywords I'm having issues running any mods this playthru. I did get my nude mod to work, but nothing else I can tell. (I can tell that my player character is nude fo sur) Or is it all in my head?
I ask cause I used to go to a doc, many decades ago that came home from serving in Korea (sic) and he thought everyone in NYC in Brooklyn where he lived were also speaking in Korean. Not when I went to him though... I think... he did speak to me in Engrish.

Facts. Although I don't really mind a quick reminder at towards the end to like the video. I genuinely forgot to do that on a lot of great content and only did that because I was prompted. At the end of the day this is someone's way to earn the living, let's not forget.
@@CostelloDamianThat's a Fair comment, but let me refer you to Techmoan, a YT channel which has 1.35 million subs. The guy makes it a point to never ask for likes and subs. I'm subbed to his channel and always leave a like. Similarly, I subbed and liked this video because the content was great and I was never asked for the usual things. Sometimes, you just have to treat people like adults and they will respond by doing the right thing.

But according to data if he asked this would improve the number to 1.7m There is a lot of people with goldfish memory like me that forget to leave a like. Out of the entire Subnautica playlist I have left the like maybe on 2-3 videos. In comparison I would scroll down and click 'like' if prompted. I'm of to check that Techmoan. Thanks.

Enhanced Lights and FX is by far my most favourite mod, it makes the game like 400% more beautiful imo
Agreed! I know tone wise it's different, but there are some interiors that are just amazing now
@@BBKDRAGOONdo you think some of these mods will get updated to ps5? I don’t see most of these mods on PlayStation.. on the Bethesda website it says they’re all for Xbox. Debating buying the game again in Xbox just for mods…
So I believe all of these mods are available on PlayStation, if you search the name of the mod, add bethesda and playstation 5 and they should come up. Vivd Fallout and Enhanced Lighting is, as is Green Commonwealth, and the skip intro

Awesome video ! I totally get the feeling of not wanting to alter the look of the commonwealth too much from the vanilla version. However, I feel like after 200 years, the commonwealth should have a little more vegetation.
For people on PS4/PS5 who are interested in adding vegetation, I recommend the following mods : Overgrowth (it adds yellow-ish tree leaves which doesn't make the commonwealth too greeny), Commonwealth Flora Overhaul (adds different types of trees like firs and some reddish trees which blends very well with the yellow-ish trees from Overgrowth), Simplegreen - Spring (the mod gets primarily overwritten by the other two mods, but some of the grass will still hold a green-ish colour which diversifies the vegetation), Better Landscape Grass and More Grass (two compatible mods that beautifully compliment one another).
All in all, these mods work very well together IMO. They also are canon to the season (fall) the game takes place while not being too red for my liking.
Thank you for this video, I haven’t played FO4 in ages and I don’t have a clue what mods are currently working and which aren’t and this will be my starting point. I sometimes go overboard on mods, but currently I’m really only interested in minor QoL mods, as I recall the only real cosmetic mods I used to use regularly were a couple that made repairs at the Castle, or other settlement, look better.
This is the first of your videos I’ve seen, but I’m going to sub and binge at least a few more, to see if the rest are as good as this one?

Enhanced Lights and FX literally blew my mind, got me forgetting I'm playing Fallout 4
Yeah its insane and a lot of Work they changed the settings to dynamic light for almost all light sources but also changed their values AND positions which is crazy.
You probably shouldn't use enhanced lights and fx it's been having issues for about a year, when you load into a building it crashes your game the mod author is trying to fix it.

I did enjoy this a lot as well, and there was a nice fix download available for the mod.
Amazing thank you. I’ve just started fallout 4 for the first time (tried on release didn’t like it) but felt disheartened as mouse is just unplayable. So will definitely look at how I can add that mod (never used mods before) when I was trying to avoid it to stay close to the original and this video highlighted quality of like improvements that are a must!

It was hard for me to get into this game back when it launched on the xbone. I have a PC with a 3070 now and I feel like im playing a brand new game it feels completely different. Actually having fun this time around

Used most of these in the past and they are honestly essential for me.
I still have to wait because without F4SE there’s no high fps physics fix and I just can’t play F4 at a lower framerate anymore

I just got my Steam Deck OLED in the mail and finished watching the show. Now it's made me really want to dive back into Fallout 4 and try modding it for the first time. Ideally, I'd love to have a modded setup that allows me to pick up the same save file between my new Steam Deck and my more powerful desktop rig, but I know a lot of the PC mods are still busted after the next gen update. If I were mainly focusing on playing on the Steam Deck, do you think it would be better to use all in game mods and follow your list here, or should I use Nexus and go through the process of transferring mods to my Steam Deck? Thanks!

I couldn't live without vivid and Green Commonwealth. Road mod looks good, I'll try it. I also use Optimised Vanilla textures, Visible Galaxy and Only Clear Weather.
This is the first modded game I've played. I'm moving to PC now to get more!

Really appreciate you putting this together dude! im gonna load all these up through Vortex and see how it does. hopefully i dont have any crashing issues or anything over the next few days. If I do ill update my comment here.
Update: No crashing issues, but the available load time decreaser mod does not do enough to improve the commonwealth loading times. It STILL takes anywhere from 20-40 seconds every single time I was in a building and wanted to go outside. Over time, becomes pretty unbearable. It did however help out a ton with fast travelling. Mind you all of this is with a NVMe SSD, 32GB RAM, 5800X3D and a 4070 Ti.
Fantastic mod list. Load Accelerator and Raw Input are essential on PC. It's unbelievably bizarre that Bugthesda didn't include these with the new update, but they are easy to install and don't block achievements on Steam. Running FO4 at 120fps load times went from 30 seconds in some areas to 2-3 seconds, an amazing improvement.

Haven’t watched the video yet but will do later - silly question that might already be answered but do I have to start a new save for the mods to work? Or can I turn them on for my current save?
Do you recommend a specific mod organizer to use for the ones that have it available? Like you mentioned vortex and such, I’m super new to modding but would love to add those to enhance my experience!
I like Vortex for Fallout 4, I use Mod Organizer 2 for my Viva New Vegas setup, but I would recommend Vortex, it's very simple and easy to setup. Plus then you link your Nexus account with Vortex and it will directly download the mods into Vortex for you from the website
I hope some good workshop/crafting mods will be added. Like modular leathers. And i always loved building. But the basic buildkit isnt really awesome enough 😂

I much prefer the A Touch of Life mod for a lowered weapons option. Will cover litetally every weapon including mods and actually has the option to lower or keep your weapon up
Did they fix enhanced lights and fx on the xbox? I remember that mod had problems on the xbox
I suggest you to try "The Forest" mod. I've Installed Fallout 4 1.10.136 build with Vivid Fallout all in one + Vivid Weather + True Storms + The Forest + More Shadows + Enhanced Lights FX and 95 other mods by the taste. And it looks gorgeous in 2024
quick question one of my favorite things about playing fallout is diamond city radio, I love awkward Travis (mainly the reason why i don't do his confidence side quest) and him updating me on things i do in the world. I also hate the loading times but the load accelerator has the radio and the voice lines from NPC's either skipping or overlapping. any way to fix this?

For the Vivid Fallout Mod - I play on 4k so I'm assuming that means I get the 4k version of the mod. It says its very taxing on performance and I don't want to lose to many frames. Do you think it will work if I just get the recommended 2k mod while playing 4k?
How do we setup this up correctly for PC? do we need F4SE downloaded first before these mods? how do we structure our files? Do we need a modded fallout 4 launcher? I have the enhanced lights, green common, raw, and vivid downloaded and installed via vortex and it says it has no issues, however when I play the game there is not a single green blade of grass anywhere, lights look normal. I have no idea how this is supposed to work

New to fallout 4 (played 3 and NV extensively), so I don't have any Mod heavy save files to worry about. I am about 20 hours into a Next Gen playthrough. Any reason to downgrade in your opinion? The mods in this video are typically of the variety that I go for, polish but not gamebreaking. Currently running Load Accelerator (how is this not base game?) and a Ultra Wide Interface (thought next gen was supposed to do this), but that's it. Nice video!
How do you launch fallout 4 through vortex? For some reason my game isnt showing up on the dashboard. Also do any of these help with FPS? For some reason I have bad fps drops when you get in the downtown area even with a 2080

Green for the commonwealth 3.0 no longer there for me now. Worked fine yesterday then I deleted and reinstalled to try and fix something and now can only find v2.9 despite favouriting on Bethesda and searching for ages in xb, any ideas?
Do you know any mods that give more freedom with crafting? I have one that lets me change modifiers (like damage, range, recoil, etc) and moge legendary effects around and my game crashes more than it plays
I will see about Enhanced lights and FX. We skyrim folk call it ELFX for short and i know what it does very well because i used it for years. For textures i use all the retextures by savrenx.

Hi,i have the ps5 version and only far harbour dlc..it seems that every mod that i install and enable,even if its for example about 1st person animation tweaks... When i go to diamond city the textures brakes and i'm seeing weird black textures...how do i fix this? should i have to buy nuka world or any other dlcs?
The game crashes when I try to load mods using Mod Organizer without the Script Extender. Subscribing to mods through the game's built-in system works well, but there aren't many mods I'm interested in. I don't like Vortex, btw. Do you have any suggestions?
I don't see these mods in the in-game Mod section. Do I have to download directly from Nexus then enable it through a Mod Manager? Is it not uploaded to in game mod section? Totally new to PC modding.
Create a nexus account, link it to MO2 and there you go. Make sure your mods work and don’t have conflicts because it will be a huge pain in the ass to sort through them all. And do not use LOOT to sort them. Have fun Scav
@@dashawnbonnett5847 Thanks man. Saw another video and got Vortex instead. OMG Vivid All in one is a game changer. No way I can play vanilla FO with those graphics. So Unoffical Patch & Vivid is a pretty good baseline to play the whole game, you think?
@@rogerh2694 yes. You could also use NAC if you like the colorful aspect of it all. It makes the color more natural and adds weather.

Heads up: for the last few days none of the creation club missions have been loading to my pip boy Xbox series X.
I figured it out last night that I was using a mod called alternate start which skips the whole vault 111 beginning and starts you standing on top of the lift looking over at sanctuary. don’t use the mod because you need to come up the lift out of the vault for the creation club missions to load into your pit boy.
As an inexperienced fallout player, I’m torn between how I should play the game. Should I play vanilla first to get an authentic experience and then play with mods, or would I enjoy more playing with mods and then playing vanilla?
Raw input for me has been one of those things that has made Fallout 4 much more enjoyable to control. Didnt realize how ass it felt to try and aim on this game on PC.
It's good to see that there are people who're able to adapt to the update and find mods that stay lore friendly.
But you know, you hear a lot of players spout the popular propaganda, "Bethesda broke our mods on purpose" but that's just ignorance.
This has happened before with Skyrim, when it got its big update. And most fans were just being clueless about how to adapt to it.
It's de-ja-vu all over again, they don't know how to adjust to a sudden change and just plain refusing to update their mods.
All they gotta do is rework their mods and stop being afraid of a little more work. Stubbornness never got anyone anywhere.
I have the Green Commonwealth mod installed on Xbox but it's way too much green compared to yours. I like the look in your video way better. Any idea why that is?

The Link lead to Green 3.0, which is more green - in the video, it seems like 2.9. My problem is, I want to have 3.0 on xbox, but it seems it was removed..
Just wanted to add, If you’re on Xbox don’t use the unofficial patch. I’ve tested it numerous times with only that mod installed and I’ve came to the conclusion that it breaks the game, Mostly in Far Harbor.
I think something happened with dilapidated roads. I was redoing my mods and I can’t find it anywhere lol
My load order won't let me run vivid all in one. It freezes on fast travel until I take it off unfortunately
I tried all of the mods that fix long load time, including load accelerator, none of them works. Sometimes it load up to 3 minutes and I just take it as a break for my eyes and do some stretches. I have the GOG version of fallout 4 game of the edition, sometimes i wonder script extender works with GOG version, since I cant launch the game through script extender in Vortex.

Just buy all the DLCs if you can, very worth it.

Unless you value the slow running in game more than your time on this earth, I suggest Sprint Out of Combat. Works with new patch.
You would think after 15 years, someone at Bethesda would go- "mmmm... mouse movement is really off in our games, maybe we should do something about it." I mean, do they not play their own game? Or try mods themselves? Or too ignorant to do anything about it? And the transition loading time, yes speeding up frame rate does the trick, but the underlying problem is something else. Because you can click Start on keyboard, then click back to game from taskbar and you will be in new scene without the fps speed up.
Xbox X no mods on Next Gen update. Still getting a lag when moving. Sporadic but making the a game I’ve spent hundreds of hours in basically unplayable. Any suggestions?
Do enbs still work in the newest version of the game? I would assume they would need to be updated like f4se but Idk
Nah ENBs should still work fine.

On console I can't find the greenery mod, I can find the 2.9 but in the description it even says "if you want the newer version of this mod, it is now live as version 3.0" but I can't find it anywhere

People should focus on settlement building mods and the extra battles and difficult you can get from "war of the commonwealth" and "real AI". Honestly the rest is fairy floss. P.s. I agree on Load accelerator and Wireless electricity mod is a must.

I only had god rays off and remove irrilivant object mod on xbox one for less lagg, and game crashes. After the next gen update my saved modded charecter was lvl 70 in survival mode and the game crashed every 5 minutes. even after i deleted the mods... the save game file was never the same, started a brand new game and so far it is running almost perfect. So The pre nextgenupdate save game files are no good. they work,, but with many issues. I wonder if this is a trick or secret to get the next gen update to work right. You have to Start a new game.
I have like 55 mods installed on my series x. Can anyone tell me what order should these 3 mods be in? They are moribund world, green in the commonwealth, and vivid fallout all in one.
Just dropped the 4 mods i wanted (vivid, lights, raw and load speed) into the data file of the game but only Vivid shows in the mod menu in game and is working, any suggestions for getting the others to work? not using a mod manager. Thanks
Use a mod manager would be my suggestion, Vortex or MO2 (probably Vortex if you're new)
Does it matter what load order?
Enhanced lights and FX crashes the game on the Series X, even to the point that you cannot advance with it installed. The mod description warns that there are issues on console, not to use on console. Still an issue/known issue for some time.

Everybody needs to try "Wasteland illumination"...it adds random working streetlights all thru out boston!! It looks badass at night💯...i have tried EVERY current weather mod & honestly i noticed they ALL degrade textures....i suggest waiting for a ps5 specific weather Mod...try Wasteland illumination💯💯

hey im new to mods and pc in general im trying to mod fallout 4 using vortex and f4se but it does not work what so ever it just says that i am using a newer version of fallout 4 than what f4se is using but yet i see so many youtube videos of pc players using mods form vortex and playing no problem can someone please help this is my first time doing all this and non of it works
U should make video what mods you use in Fallout 76 if you use any.
I don't use any for 76, I play it vanilla. I figured since it was live service/online would be a no go
