27:00 Well, not quite. When the player kills a certain amount of synths, they stop spawning. When the rocket is activated, they stop spawning. But... if you just watch Danse fend off synths and do nothing, they don't stop. Yes, they may start despawning after a number die, but it's such a high number that you can leave Danse fighting for like a half an hour if you want. Meaning you can pick up their ammo and guns (for more cells), after it's all over. I recommend closing the blast doors for good measure.

It's pretty obvious that Dogmeat was supposed to be in a separate follower category like EVERY OTHER FALLOUT until very late in development, since all the humanoid followers have lines acknowledging his presence/need of healing if you mod him back into the party. Lone Wanderer was always supposed to work with Dogmeat.
There's also a few other cases where the voice lines clearly show that dog meat was meant to work with other companions. When entering Curie's vault with dog meat and someone else the overseer says something along the lines of "Your friend and your dog can wait here"
I’m pretty sure there was supposed to be a plot line around Dogmeat’s background since Mama Murphy recognized him, and considering that there’s an entire perk in Sole Survivor’s Perk Tree dedicated to Dogmeat. Plus Dogmeat shows up during the quest to hunt down Kellogg, it feels like he was supposed to have more interactions during quests. Not to mention the Synth Dogmeat theory that Father had Dogmeat created to guide Sole Survivor into finding Kellogg and getting into the Institute.

I just finished this run, the hardest part was getting the caps without any combat options, but getting it was very rewarding. Had to turn collision off to check it was actually in the room when I got to the headquarters
For an extra requirement you can't kill Malcom or Tomas for their Star Bottle Caps. If Jacklyn kills Tomas then she's fair game, but the Star Caps on Malcom and Tomas have to be pickpocketed off of them to be allowed.

Monocyte breeder, subdermal armour, endurance and strength implants all required. (Nanomachines, son.) Charisma implant also required. (I don't write my own speeches.) Only the bare fists are allowed as weapons. If this is too tedious, the ballistic fist is alright to use sometimes because of the giant flame pillars he makes in his final phase. (Don't fuck with this senator!) Side with yes man (or maybe legion if you feel like a legion playthrough but i think yes man is better for this) and destroy all 3 other main factions. Also enact social darwinism whenever applicable. (every man should be free to fight his own wars!) Someone in the comments reminded me about the thorn quests; you have to do those since you're gathering a bunch of eggs. (Making the mother of all omelettes here Jack, can't fret over every egg!) Besides that, the rest is up to you; I'm sure you know the simple things like taking the toughness perk and I want you to be free to make this run as extensive or restrained as you want, but after asking for this for over a year I will be disappointed if it's not on the same level of depth as the Lincoln runs.
I actually love the Charisma 5 thing on Lucy. Her being nice is not the same as charismatic. And her being kind or likeable in the Vault is entirely different than the kind of charisma needed to get by in the wasteland. It makes a lot of sense when every wastelander thinks Lucy is crazy the second she opens her mouth. Vault dwellers are nice, but they're weird. Weird enough that it's an uphill battle communicating.

Interestingly enough, if you look at 30:19 and pause, where you missed all of those shots on the Gunner. For whatever reason when they turn their body it changes from a 95% chance hit to 0% which you then locked in, which is why every shot missed.
You know, Speaking of betrayal like in the TV Show, You know who also betrays people? Playing through Fallout 4 as Revolver Ocelot Nothing but pistols, and betraying every faction Side with everyone until you destroy the institute (there is a guide for having all the main three factions getting along to destroy the institute, and part of the railroad is going undercover and betraying the institute so, yeah), HOWEVER, dont rush destroying the institute, because you can side with everyone in Far Harbour, then destroy all their factions by first nuking and shutting off the first lot, then, telling the institute about arcadia but yeah, then you can betray all the factions with the Minute men helping then betray the minute men with the Nuka World raiders taking over sanctuary and the fort THEN betraying the Nuka Raiders in the end.
(Hi, post writing JC here, dont read this if you value your time, im basically just talking about my dumb idea for a spy tf2 run) A TF2 Spy run would also work for this kind of thing, where hes just restricted to using revolvers and knives, uses invisibility and disguises, and hacks robots whenever possible. Of course also doing the betrayal thing. Some lighter rules would be to wear a suit (with the exception of disguises), only consume french cuisine (if possible, idk lol). And lastly, im not too sure about this one but maybe he can only heal after a successful backstab? (for making it difficult). As a reference to the Big Earner (gives small amount of health and speed on backstab), Connivers Kunai (lowers max health by alot but absorbs enemies health as overheal on backstab), and the Diamondback Revolver (grants a stored crit for every backstab and sapped robot). Something even more complicated that i really doubt he'd do, is try to stick to how weapons work in TF2 with their closest matches in Fallout. Like if theres a standard butterfly knife then it works like the default spy knife and does a bunch of damage on backstab, a dagger would either work like the Big Earner (explained earlier) or like the Your Eternal Reward (immediately disguises as the person you backstabbed upon backstabbing, but disguising manually basically cant be done and invisibility drains faster), and if there are any kunai or anything similar to it, then it would function like the Connivers Kunai (explained earlier). Im not a huuge fallout fan so im not entirely sure, but isnt there an invisibility device called like a "stealth boy" or something? Anyway if there is, maybe for the challenge hed only be able to use it if he has a watch equipped, idk lol. Anyway i got really distracted, adhd and all that lol, sorry for writing such a long and unrelated reply.

Challenge idea: "Can you beat Fallout 4 as a Space Marine?" The main premise is that you have to be in power armour as much as possible to represent the Astartes also wearing their armour constantly, and you can only use weapons a Space Marine would use. Getting a ripper as a stand in for the chainsword would be essential for the run, for example. Radiation could also be a stand in for Chaos. The full rules are as follows: -Kill as many heretics as possible. This means the Railroad, who help AI, the Children of Atom for worshipping "Chaos", the Institute for building so many AI, and optionally the BoS, since they want Liberty Prime, an AI, back online (you could call them Chaos Marines if that's more fun). Far Harbour CoA are optional. -Kill as many mutants as possible. This means as many Ghouls and Super Mutants as you can find since theyre not human. -Kill as many robots as possible. They're abominable intelligence, they must die. This inculdes going after the Mechanist and, if you so choose, Arcadia in Far Harbour. -Kill the aliens that crash in a random event. Filthy xenos must die. -Build a Fortress Monastery. The Castle would be a good fit. -Each power armour represents one faction of Space Marines. This means each suit essentially is their own build. For example, green armour means you're a Salamander, so flamers are a primary weapon in that set, but if the armour is black then you're a Raven Guard, which means stealth is the name of the game. -Go on a murder spree in the Glowing Sea. It's basically the closest thing there is to the Warp, which means it must be cleansed. -High focus on melee and powerful guns. The Astartes guns, bolters, are in lore stronger than a .50 cal. While that would be very difficult to achieve in-game, you can simply make do with high calibre guns. If there's anything else you come up with that you feel fits the idea of the run, please do throw that in too! I hope you'll like this challenge.

A playthrough in power armor would be kind of an easy run, especially when he actually gets the T-60 in the game. That being said, I hope my bro Maximus gets his own dedicated challenge
There were a couple, but I think it's probably just down to Lucy & The Ghoul having unique weapons and outfits, whereas Maximus would mainly just be a power armour run. Granted I am more than happy to do a run around him, any excuse to mess around in Power Armour lol

Nebit I have a challenge idea for Fallout 3 I call it the Bobblehead Challenge Rules are is that you are forbidden from using any skills until you aquire the Bobblehead for that skill. For example no Melee Weapons until you get the Melee Weapons Bobblehead, no sneaking until you get the Sneaking Bobblehead and so on. When it comes to the SPECIAL Bobbleheads, since skills are tied to certain SPECIAL Stats, you will still not be allowed to use a skill until you get the SPECIAL Bobblehead said skill is tied to. For example even if you get the Melee Weapons Bobblehead, you still can't use Melee Weapons since they are ties to Strength, and you still can't Medicine even you have the Medicine Bobblehead until you get the Intelligence Bobblehead. When it comes to Leveling up, it doesn't matter what points goes where. So you can put all your skills points into Melee Weapons if you want to even if you don't have the Bobbleheads to use Melee Weapons. I hope I explained it well enough. I just thought it could be a fun challenge idea you could try

I believe that Dogmeat + Loan wander is an artifact from the time during production he was supposed to function in the way dogs (and ED-e) work in the other 3D games, I’m not certain it’s true but if it’s true then it might be one of if not the only part of that left in game without poking around the code.

The VATS bug is from the update. And if there is an object between you and the target, regardless of chances to hit, you'll miss. You might still build your critical meter though if you "would" have hit, and criticals are still a guaranteed hit

I'd actually imagine that Dogmeat not being considered a true companion is not a glitch and just a holdover from New Vegas, where you could have one "real" companion along with one "secondary" companion, or else pet, in the form of either ED-E or Rex.
I’ve actually been putting together a challenge list for a Maximus playthrough if you’d like to try it out: 1. Complete FO4 with the BOS faction 2. Apparel limited to knight undersuit, bathrobe, and BOS soldier uniform 3. Weapons limited to classic 10mm, laser pistol, assault rifle (See next) 4. Assault rifles can only be used with a squire (companion of choice) present, PA required 5. Companions can only be provided squire attire and weaponry (BOS soldier uniform and classic 10mm) 6. Power Armor can only be acquired from the Brotherhood It’s a sorta bare bones concept but I think it could be pretty fun.

I think fallout 3 makes sense than fallout 4 since 4 is the sole survivor finding their son, and 3 is the lone wanderer finding their father, and the tv show is lucy finding her father.
The Select Revolver mod which I downloaded as it was close to the Ghouls handcannon but still lore friendly has one of if not the best pick up animations I have ever seen let alone for a mod. The player searches through a computer desk with buffout in one of the drawers and notices the other drawer has a fake bottom, removes it and picks up the gun before examining it. fire addition

Conquest mod to build turrets everywhere. Overalls and hard hat. The scout: baseball bat. 10mm gun, double barrel shotgun. Only aid allowed is soda. And a mod to increase your speed. No armor. The medic: syringe gun and melee only. No strength but with Strong as the heavy. The pyro: always gas mask and fisherman wadders. Axe, flare gun, shotgun and, well…Flamethrower. And for the others characters, idk. With adequate role play of course.
i remember in a mod that lets you take dogmeat and a companion at the same time the description stated that dogmeat was originally intended to not be a normal companion and was supposed to be able to join you with a companion, this idea was scrapped and dogmeat was set with a trigger to either be dissmissed or to dismiss a companion. however his status was never upgraded to a full companion state hence why he still does not count against lone wanderer or other "solo play" perks.

the trigger is actually entering the rocket silo. if you stay in the area with the junk jet they spawn forever.

It's pretty obvious that Dogmeat was supposed to be in a separate follower category like EVERY OTHER FALLOUT until very late in development, since all the humanoid followers have lines acknowledging his presence/need of healing if you mod him back into the party. Lone Wanderer was always supposed to work with Dogmeat.
There's also a few other cases where the voice lines clearly show that dog meat was meant to work with other companions. When entering Curie's vault with dog meat and someone else the overseer says something along the lines of "Your friend and your dog can wait here"
I’m pretty sure there was supposed to be a plot line around Dogmeat’s background since Mama Murphy recognized him, and considering that there’s an entire perk in Sole Survivor’s Perk Tree dedicated to Dogmeat. Plus Dogmeat shows up during the quest to hunt down Kellogg, it feels like he was supposed to have more interactions during quests.
Not to mention the Synth Dogmeat theory that Father had Dogmeat created to guide Sole Survivor into finding Kellogg and getting into the Institute.
Plus a lot of the companions gain friendship with the player if they heal Dogmeat in their presence. At least according to the wiki anyway.
On top of that, the icon has the dude with their dog and the perk increases dog meat too if I remember right

I recently was thinking about the post-apocalyptic movie The Postman and thought "Hey, you play a courier in FNV, I wonder if that would be a decent character run for the game?" You're the best at those so wanted to toss the idea your way.
Can you beat New Vegas using only Pew Pew? It's the quest reward for The Legend of The Star so you'd have to collect 50 star caps before you could engage in combat.
I just finished this run, the hardest part was getting the caps without any combat options, but getting it was very rewarding. Had to turn collision off to check it was actually in the room when I got to the headquarters
Also don't get caught by Malcom. Fast travelling is allowed once every in-game day (24 hours).
For an extra requirement you can't kill Malcom or Tomas for their Star Bottle Caps. If Jacklyn kills Tomas then she's fair game, but the Star Caps on Malcom and Tomas have to be pickpocketed off of them to be allowed.

Can you beat all of fallout: new vegas as senator Armstrong?
No armour, only the pre-war businesswear and glasses are allowed.
Use the drugs exploit to get 11 in endurance and strength. (Played college ball, you know.)
Monocyte breeder, subdermal armour, endurance and strength implants all required. (Nanomachines, son.)
Charisma implant also required. (I don't write my own speeches.)
Only the bare fists are allowed as weapons. If this is too tedious, the ballistic fist is alright to use sometimes because of the giant flame pillars he makes in his final phase. (Don't fuck with this senator!)
Side with yes man (or maybe legion if you feel like a legion playthrough but i think yes man is better for this) and destroy all 3 other main factions. Also enact social darwinism whenever applicable. (every man should be free to fight his own wars!)
Someone in the comments reminded me about the thorn quests; you have to do those since you're gathering a bunch of eggs. (Making the mother of all omelettes here Jack, can't fret over every egg!)
Besides that, the rest is up to you; I'm sure you know the simple things like taking the toughness perk and I want you to be free to make this run as extensive or restrained as you want, but after asking for this for over a year I will be disappointed if it's not on the same level of depth as the Lincoln runs.

I actually love the Charisma 5 thing on Lucy. Her being nice is not the same as charismatic. And her being kind or likeable in the Vault is entirely different than the kind of charisma needed to get by in the wasteland. It makes a lot of sense when every wastelander thinks Lucy is crazy the second she opens her mouth. Vault dwellers are nice, but they're weird. Weird enough that it's an uphill battle communicating.

Interestingly enough, if you look at 30:19 and pause, where you missed all of those shots on the Gunner. For whatever reason when they turn their body it changes from a 95% chance hit to 0% which you then locked in, which is why every shot missed.

because you can side with everyone in Far Harbour, then destroy all their factions by first nuking and shutting off the first lot, then, telling the institute about arcadia
but yeah, then you can betray all the factions with the Minute men helping
then betray the minute men with the Nuka World raiders taking over sanctuary and the fort
THEN betraying the Nuka Raiders in the end.
(Hi, post writing JC here, dont read this if you value your time, im basically just talking about my dumb idea for a spy tf2 run)
A TF2 Spy run would also work for this kind of thing, where hes just restricted to using revolvers and knives, uses invisibility and disguises, and hacks robots whenever possible. Of course also doing the betrayal thing.
Some lighter rules would be to wear a suit (with the exception of disguises), only consume french cuisine (if possible, idk lol).
And lastly, im not too sure about this one but maybe he can only heal after a successful backstab? (for making it difficult). As a reference to the Big Earner (gives small amount of health and speed on backstab), Connivers Kunai (lowers max health by alot but absorbs enemies health as overheal on backstab), and the Diamondback Revolver (grants a stored crit for every backstab and sapped robot). Something even more complicated that i really doubt he'd do, is try to stick to how weapons work in TF2 with their closest matches in Fallout. Like if theres a standard butterfly knife then it works like the default spy knife and does a bunch of damage on backstab, a dagger would either work like the Big Earner (explained earlier) or like the Your Eternal Reward (immediately disguises as the person you backstabbed upon backstabbing, but disguising manually basically cant be done and invisibility drains faster), and if there are any kunai or anything similar to it, then it would function like the Connivers Kunai (explained earlier). Im not a huuge fallout fan so im not entirely sure, but isnt there an invisibility device called like a "stealth boy" or something? Anyway if there is, maybe for the challenge hed only be able to use it if he has a watch equipped, idk lol. Anyway i got really distracted, adhd and all that lol, sorry for writing such a long and unrelated reply.

Challenge idea: "Can you beat Fallout 4 as a Space Marine?"
The main premise is that you have to be in power armour as much as possible to represent the Astartes also wearing their armour constantly, and you can only use weapons a Space Marine would use. Getting a ripper as a stand in for the chainsword would be essential for the run, for example. Radiation could also be a stand in for Chaos.
The full rules are as follows:
-Kill as many heretics as possible. This means the Railroad, who help AI, the Children of Atom for worshipping "Chaos", the Institute for building so many AI, and optionally the BoS, since they want Liberty Prime, an AI, back online (you could call them Chaos Marines if that's more fun). Far Harbour CoA are optional.
-Kill as many mutants as possible. This means as many Ghouls and Super Mutants as you can find since theyre not human.
-Kill as many robots as possible. They're abominable intelligence, they must die. This inculdes going after the Mechanist and, if you so choose, Arcadia in Far Harbour.
-Kill the aliens that crash in a random event. Filthy xenos must die.
-Build a Fortress Monastery. The Castle would be a good fit.
-Each power armour represents one faction of Space Marines. This means each suit essentially is their own build. For example, green armour means you're a Salamander, so flamers are a primary weapon in that set, but if the armour is black then you're a Raven Guard, which means stealth is the name of the game.
-Go on a murder spree in the Glowing Sea. It's basically the closest thing there is to the Warp, which means it must be cleansed.
-High focus on melee and powerful guns. The Astartes guns, bolters, are in lore stronger than a .50 cal. While that would be very difficult to achieve in-game, you can simply make do with high calibre guns.
If there's anything else you come up with that you feel fits the idea of the run, please do throw that in too! I hope you'll like this challenge.

8:10 it's most likely intentional for multiple reason, first is most likely a nod to Fallout 3 Lone Wanderer as they are normally depicted with Dogmeat on official media, second is that the perk does give a small bonus to dogmeat on higher rank if I remember correctly and thirdly dogmeat is a lot weaker than normal human companion and is mostly support

Nebit I have a challenge idea for Fallout 3
I call it the Bobblehead Challenge
Rules are is that you are forbidden from using any skills until you aquire the Bobblehead for that skill. For example no Melee Weapons until you get the Melee Weapons Bobblehead, no sneaking until you get the Sneaking Bobblehead and so on. When it comes to the SPECIAL Bobbleheads, since skills are tied to certain SPECIAL Stats, you will still not be allowed to use a skill until you get the SPECIAL Bobblehead said skill is tied to. For example even if you get the Melee Weapons Bobblehead, you still can't use Melee Weapons since they are ties to Strength, and you still can't Medicine even you have the Medicine Bobblehead until you get the Intelligence Bobblehead.
When it comes to Leveling up, it doesn't matter what points goes where. So you can put all your skills points into Melee Weapons if you want to even if you don't have the Bobbleheads to use Melee Weapons.
I hope I explained it well enough. I just thought it could be a fun challenge idea you could try

1) It give the run something else to do that fits the theme

I believe that Dogmeat + Loan wander is an artifact from the time during production he was supposed to function in the way dogs (and ED-e) work in the other 3D games, I’m not certain it’s true but if it’s true then it might be one of if not the only part of that left in game without poking around the code.

The VATS bug is from the update. And if there is an object between you and the target, regardless of chances to hit, you'll miss. You might still build your critical meter though if you "would" have hit, and criticals are still a guaranteed hit

The modder who did the select blaster, neeher, has also done a lot of really top notch weapon mods with their own incredibly good looking animations
The synths just keep coming in the arcjet room only if you stand in the control room, after you either activate the rocket or come out to help him, the synths become finite.
I'd actually imagine that Dogmeat not being considered a true companion is not a glitch and just a holdover from New Vegas, where you could have one "real" companion along with one "secondary" companion, or else pet, in the form of either ED-E or Rex.
I’ve actually been putting together a challenge list for a Maximus playthrough if you’d like to try it out:
1. Complete FO4 with the BOS faction
2. Apparel limited to knight undersuit, bathrobe, and BOS soldier uniform
3. Weapons limited to classic 10mm, laser pistol, assault rifle (See next)
4. Assault rifles can only be used with a squire (companion of choice) present, PA required
5. Companions can only be provided squire attire and weaponry (BOS soldier uniform and classic 10mm)
6. Power Armor can only be acquired from the Brotherhood
It’s a sorta bare bones concept but I think it could be pretty fun.
Interesting challenge, but there is a big problem with it: you can’t get power armor frames from dead NPCs
@@DartzinhoV That’s why it’s an optional, I’m still thinking it through. Maybe only restrict armor pieces to dead knights? Maybe just lock it to the T-60 you’re given on the Prydwin?

6 Str, 1 Per, 3 Cha, 9 End, 2 Int, 6 Agi, 1 Luck. Take the Strong Back, Lone Wanderer, Confirmed Bachelor, and Ghoulism perks, Do NOT take Adamantium Skeleton, and only use a 10mm Pistol or unarmed (no fist weapons). No Power Armor, but you do join the BoS!

A Stealth Sniper run that you have just 7 in-game days to complete.
I think fallout 3 makes sense than fallout 4 since 4 is the sole survivor finding their son, and 3 is the lone wanderer finding their father, and the tv show is lucy finding her father.

The Select Revolver mod which I downloaded as it was close to the Ghouls handcannon but still lore friendly has one of if not the best pick up animations I have ever seen let alone for a mod. The player searches through a computer desk with buffout in one of the drawers and notices the other drawer has a fake bottom, removes it and picks up the gun before examining it. fire addition
Can you beat Skyrim as Pelinal Whitestrake? The rules are pretty simple. There are only two.
1: Use the Crusader equipment.
2: The only good elf is a dead elf.
My idea would probably have to be “Can Codsworth Beat Fallout 4?” Get Codsworth as your companion ASAP, and then act as a total pacifist while HE takes down enemies. To keep things interesting, Robot Workbench is allowed, to modify and maintain the perfect Codsworth for the situation.
Hey if you remember Lucy also picks up a 10 mm you could of used that also maybe it would of made your trek a tiny bit easer she also used the chainsaw knife if you used that for some of your melee bouts great video I might play this way too but know I'm doing a zombie apocaclyps run now while also balancing out with Starfield then probably going back to skyrim for a run this looked like fun and pretty chalanging so Lucy is deffenantly on my list lol take care and stay safe

If you had the vault suit customization creation club perk (which im assuming you didnt as you said you'd never been in the vault tec basement before), you could simply have made a vault 33 suit shortly after leaving the vault
I'm almost sure he wouldn't have been able to make a armored vault suit like that.

Damn, I’m honestly surprised you let the Railroad live. I mean, sure, it’s in character for Lucy, but I figured that would be overridden by the Nerbit inside.
Fallout 4 as a TF2 character:
The spy: stealth boys, knifes, revolvers, and hacking (because no sentry buster). Only business suits.
The engineer: shotgun, 10mm gun. Conquest mod to build turrets everywhere. Overalls and hard hat.
The scout: baseball bat. 10mm gun, double barrel shotgun. Only aid allowed is soda. And a mod to increase your speed. No armor.
The medic: syringe gun and melee only. No strength but with Strong as the heavy.
The pyro: always gas mask and fisherman wadders. Axe, flare gun, shotgun and, well…Flamethrower.
And for the others characters, idk. With adequate role play of course.
You can just sprint through the entire memory den segment

i remember in a mod that lets you take dogmeat and a companion at the same time the description stated that dogmeat was originally intended to not be a normal companion and was supposed to be able to join you with a companion, this idea was scrapped and dogmeat was set with a trigger to either be dissmissed or to dismiss a companion. however his status was never upgraded to a full companion state hence why he still does not count against lone wanderer or other "solo play" perks.
saying shes a genuinely kind and helpful person while mag dumping a Gunners forehead is amazing
