@@mouman The video quality could have been a lot better. I don't know if it was the rendering or encoding but you can see how much bitrate is missing. If you are using an iphone to shoot you have to keep things totally uncompressed until the final render. The skill with the phone is top tier from Nigel, but the technical of the video encoding is way off.

@@Jdkieddj yeah the video quality sucked. it was like some clips were filmed with a potato and others were fine. prime example is the pyramid ledges clip looks 480p and the clip immediately after is in perfect hd. there's a bit too much b-roll and and bails too. if they cut it down to around 6 minutes and made a few changes editing wise i think this would've been a fantastic part.

@princequestly2218 I think you're completely missing the point bud. It's about inspiration to think outside of the norm. Yes Mullen invented or inspired pretty much all of today's common tricks. Skating changed forever because of him. The gnarlyness continues to go up but the creativity has definitely plateaued. Andy is far from the norm. I agree you can't compare him to Mullen based on trick invention but you can on creativity. The industry needs him and I'm glad he's around.

I will admit that I never really thought that much of Andy Anderson 5+ years ago. To be completely honest I judged him for his style and trick selection. I thought to myself that he was just too different to make it anywhere significant and that the skate industry would continue to pass by him with little to no recognition.
    I was wrong.
Over the course of time I’ve learned to judge others less because I know that I don’t like to be judged. It’s not the way. I’ve learned that creativity is one of the most vital aspects of being a human. Watching Andy skate is witnessing the essence of love and creativity. He oozes passion. There will only ever be ONE Andy Anderson. I’m sorry that I judged you, Andy. You’re possibly the most creative skateboarder on the planet and not to mention the things you’re doing are unimaginably difficult, and you’re the only one who can imagine doing them. That right there is the source of creativity. I’m not who I used to be, as most of us aren’t. I’m happy that I can appreciate Andy’s talent and discontinue judging what I don’t understand.

I'm a 35 year old skater from Belgium, still rolling, and this part just blew my mind... Watching it greatly enhanced the motivation I already had to get better at skateboarding than when I was 15. So many new ideas can be tried after watching this, I just love it, love Andy Anderson's free spirit, love the music choice, the camera work, love everything about it really. Watching that part (again and again) gave me the same feeling than when I discovered skateboarding through videos twenty years ago : an immense excitation, a really big smile on my face, and a board under my feet twenty minutes later. THANK YOU for this, in my opinion it's a real game changer for every skateboarder around the world.

I don't even understand how Andy does the things he does with his board. This part is on another level. I have no words.

This evoked the feeling of watching the tapes on THPS when I was a kid. Pure joyous confusion.

Man I've seen hundreds of videos and skate clips over the years but NOTHING like this.
I actually fucking cried. I can only imagine it's how people felt watching man walk on the moon. It's like watching a man break free from the shackles of reality. I've never seen a skater who seems more free. A level in which nothing is impossible and EVERYTHING is possible.
I have honestly never seen anything more beautiful on a skateboard. I can't believe some of those clips can actually exist all in one part - my mind can't comprehend that it's possible.
Honestly, thank you Andy. Thank you so much.
What it must be like to see the world through your eyes.
(I can only imagine it's like the matrix and everything is flowing green lines of code or something)
That has brought me more joy and redefined what I ever thought could be possible more than any other skate part I've ever watched.

Andy respects the history of skating so much that he embodies Stecyk's famous quote by thanking the architects who made the stuff he skates on. A whole other level. "Two hundred years of American technology has unwittingly created a massive cement playground of unlimited potential. But it was the minds of 11 year olds that could see that potential." -Craig Stecyk
