And Bielsa, unlike basically every other manager, hasn't once mentioned injuries or blamed injuries for anything. And has taken sole responsibility for every defeat. While Tuchel is complaining about having 4-5 of his starters out and trying to get games postponed. Bielsa has 10 out (of the smallest squad) in the league, and when asked about injuries, he says everyone has injuries and it's part of football. Klopp crying all season about his injuries last year.
We had terrible injuries last year as well, but nobody would know because Bielsa performed miracles and never mentioned them.

It's all very well saying that you have to change the system but Bielsa has changed the culture of the club. At every level now within the club this is the way they play. If you watch the U23's they play the same pressing, man for man marking system. As far as Bielsa is concerned by the time the young players reach the first team squad they should just be able to slot in and play the system without thinking. It's all very well saying bring somebody else in but if anybody new comes in they will get a squad of players who have been playing Bielsa ball for three plus years try getting them to change is asking for trouble and lets not forget they would also be inheriting the same injury crisis. If they were getting hammered and the full squad were playing then you could ask the questions. But take eleven first team players out of any team, including City, and they would struggle.
Some of the pundits have said they should shut up shop and defend, just how do you do that when all your centre backs are out injured bar one who has not played since the first game of the season. Inviting teams on when you have full backs in the middle of the defence is a recipe for disaster. When the fixture lists came out at the beginning of the season we would have struggled in December even with a full squad.
Not too long ago Roy Keane said that all the very best managers are stubborn and won't change regardless of the results because they believe in themselves and they know their systems work.

Bielsa is incredibly well-respected at Leeds, and for good reason. He brought us up to the Premier League. He's humble, and thoughtful, and is getting the most out of players that would otherwise be considered too inexperienced to play in the EPL. My only criticism of him is that he doesn't seem to have a plan B, even with so many injuries and inexperienced players. And just because you're less successful and aren't quite Bielsa, it doesn't mean you shouldn't be commended for playing good football and having an identity and principles.

Huddersfield? I don't even remember them being in the PL lol. Sheff U played very pragmatic football. And were rock bottom at this time in their 2nd season. Not that they didn't do very well, and Wilder deserved much better.
By the way, Sheff U sacked Wilder and went down. Where are they now? The guy that took them from League 1 to PL midtable got sacked for one bad season. And now they're back to being a nothing club.
Leeds are still playing well. Their underlying stats are almost identical to last season. Just poor in front of goal. Which is something a manager can't do much to affect. Especially when your striker is injured for most of the season.

The second season in the PL is always hard. Villa almost went down. The financial gap between the PL and Championship is huge. It takes years to build a decent PL squad.
And none of those teams played the football we do. Playing such insanely high risk football is almost impossible as a weaker team. It’s unique. And why Bielsa is such a great manager.

Bielsa has a current squad of players who can easily achieve mid-table, but possibly not much more. The question has to be, at what point do the board invest in improving the squad FOR BIELSA TO USE, and at what point do they invest in a new manager if he doesn't take THAT squad higher...
We can never know until the first part happens and Bielsa is given some players to develop that culture that he believes in.
I think PATIENCE from the board is the key to the future success of Leeds United, and let Bielsa grow with his team as they head steadily towards that top six they so badly want.

Great to see pundits talking sense for a change. Just look at Leeds fan base and what they have gone through for the past 10 years or more. The club had better gates when in the championship than some Premier League sides. They travel all over the country in droves to support their club. The team have been savaged by injury this season. Recently they had 7 first team players available and the balance and bench were U23’s. There will be moaners who want instant success and shout sack the manager when we get a hiding. But Bielsa has brought life back to the club. He has probably overachieved last year with relatively little resources compared to the big boys. How well has changing the manager worked out for Man United...? Man City are a level above everyone and have hammered more teams than Leeds this season....yet they play the same “model” of football? The difference is they have had time and a LOT of money to get the team to where they are. Remember City are also a great club that has seen tough times in the past and like Leeds, their true fan base have stuck with the team though ups and downs. Bielsa will never be sacked by Leeds . He may choose to leave when he feels the time is right but I cannot see him getting pushed. When we get our players back fit we will give anyone a game. I also think that there are definitely at least 3 teams that are worse than Leeds this season so lets look forward not downward and get behind a team with great spirit that give their all regardless of the opposition.

They do not change their style or system to suit the opposition. This creates long term fluidity and cohesion hence why Liverpool have enjoyed the success they have and, in relative terms given the respective circumstances, so have Leeds. I have no love for either side but do enjoy watching their games as both sides guarantee commitment to the cause and keep looking to go forwards no matter the score.
