As someone who has been a server - you are NOT annoying when you customize a meal! My main goal was was always to make sure my customers were happy and (as a server) it was so easy to make those substitutions. Just wanted to share that because I also love to customize meals when I'm out to eat but before i became a server I always felt like I was being so high maintenance! Now I agree with Dana - just tip well and make sure you order a meal you will enjoy :)
My tip is to look at the menu online before you go so you can pick what you’re eating and are less likely to order something you shouldn’t. If you are tracking then enter it in your meal plan for the day and track the rest of your day around that special meal so you can still hit your macros/goals.
I always like looking at menus online if I know where we are going. That way if it’s a new restaurant- I don’t get overwhelmed! Thanks for the tips DLB!
My tip is, to watch out for most cream based additives. Not just sauces, thats easy, but the stuff they put on the entree as part of the order. Never feel bad about asking questions. Tip number 2, if in doubt, check the online menu or call ahead before going.
Awesome, I am making sure my wife watches this as well. Lettuce wrapped burgers are always a good way to cut the carbs out, most restaurants will do this. To be honest it can also save you anywhere from 200-400 calories!
Always ask for your protein to be grilled or baked vs fried or battered. I always ask for extra veg when I order, especially when I get any sort of “bowl” and half rice/whatever carb it is. The extra veggies are way more tasty and less carby.
Love the Night Owl tip for steaming the hash browns - I usually get a dry English muffin, cut raw veggies, and a chicken breast for breakfast there. They know I’m a weirdo. 😂 Now, I know that you gave them an even more challenging request and I have a new option, lol. You also ordered exactly what I order at Backslope. Great minds think alike. One other tip from me to anyone would be check out the menu online before you go to a restaurant that is new to you so you know what’s there ahead of time. Thanks for the video!
Awesome video! One thing that helped me quit soda (and helped me feel a little “fancy”) was to switch to club soda with lemon or lime wedges. Club soda is zero calorie, basically just fizzy water, but it’s surprisingly satisfying when you add fruit!
Always order water to drink. Or diet soda. Yes yes yes - dressings on the side. Ask for grilled chicken instead of breaded chicken. At burger joints, ask for a lettuce bun instead of a real one.
For the hash browns, I always ask if they use frozen shredded or if they grate the leftover baked potatoes from the previous night dinner service. If they use frozen? Have them steamed like you did and then dry fry in a pan to get some crisp. If they use last night’s baked potatoes they have shredded for hash browns, no need to steam, cuz they’re cooked. Just dry fry for some crispy edges and crunch. They end up with almost a potato chip like texture with no oil, and it helps to cook out more starch, which equals less carbs. Total food geek hint…. Jus sayin’

also tested out the dipping your fork in the dressing instead of putting it on, probably used a tablespoon of ranch with a chicken cobb salad the size of a family of 4 would eat!

At this time I EAT ! nothing so big in Crazy good healthy food ! to fuel your body but at the same time you want to be satisfied 😀when Iam leaving the table I will have a quest protein bar. Then Iam DONE 5 p.m. I will make a protein shake usually I will have again half a banana what else do I put in there I am always mixing IT up for the longest time I was using Frozen Rasberys / Strawberries. fruit seeds Get. Stuck all in your teeth. so I cut that out just too many seeds. so what I discovered I just like to put a LOT OF ICE! like a lot of ice it's the trick to Build You Up half banana or a whole one depending on how hungry you are today okay I'll tell you what today I put in my protein shake some carrots apple (fresh 🍎 Apple's some cucumber apple juice good apple juice just a little bit maybe a shot and a plum and it was delicious and again it's very FILLING and healthy 💪💦 then I don't eat till the next day and I've lost already 3 pounds and 3 belt sizes down I feel so much better💜 I cut out Dairy completely !! First of all Good fats are good for you! Tallow, butter, ghee! Unfortunately here in America we use crappy hydrogenated oil like soy and canola oil which leads to inflammation. As long as you lay off the carbs fats are awesome! Just don’t eat carbs and fat together.
