Nice ideas. I made jars of bath salts today with my grandchildren. They will give them to their moms. I harvested and dried lavender, rose, and marigold petals which were incorporated in the bath salts. The kids really enjoyed making them.
I make crochet sweaters, baskets, blankets and quilts. I email pictures in December of my makes and ask a few family members and a few friends to let me know if they like something. This year all six people who got back to me asked for the item I had in mind for them! I really don't like to make things and give it to someone who doesn't want it, this way I am sure.
I and my husband are seniors, and he is a diabetic. Can't tell you the jar and mug gifts we have gotten over the past 8 years I have to throw out. Its such a waste really. Just wish they would give us a pretty card, at least I can reuse them for craft projects. Lol
i loved all of these ideas. i would love receiving any one of these. i made some chokecherry jellies and jams and syrup as that isn't something that you can buy in most places. chokecherries grow wild where i live. i'm going to make up some pancake mixes as well as loaves of artisan breads to give as gifts.
Yes, Mary! You are so right😢! LOVE to make gifts…LOVE to GET handmade gifts! I’ve made coasters with unused ceramic tiles, chalk-painted, with winter trees made with my Cricut! They are beautiful-want to keep them all! I’m also making simmer pot potpourri for my daughter and DIL! Such fun to do these kinds of things for people! Sweet ideas, BTW! My favorite…the oil lamp! My granddaughter made me a candle last year - lavender scented! Cindi - from WV. 🥰
Mary these are amazing ideas, thank you so much for them. It’s really nice just to give everyone a small but thoughtful gift. You are a delight to watch.
That's baling/bale wire for use in haying etc and it's my favorite wire for crafting! Easy to find, soft enough to work with easily and not expensive from the hardware/restore. I love these ideas and the jars are so pretty!
Thank you Mary for featuring a Aloe Vera transplant. I have been thinking about transplanting my aloe pups as gifts. Great minds. Everything was lovely.
Sadly, "Yes" to getting stressed out during the holidays. It's hard to resist wanting to decorate, buy gifts, and bake, etc. to perfection, but, that isn't what Christmas is about. I look forward to the real show: Deep reflection and appreciation that Jesus Christ is born, ministered, died, and was resurrected to restore my soul. And, that brings me peace. We often overlook the complete verse Luke 2:14: "Glory to God in the highest and peace on earth goodwill to men upon whom His favor rests." Those last 5 words matter now more that ever. Mary, may you and yours have a blessed Christmas and thank you for sharing your talents with us!
That’s steel bailing wire found at farm and hardware stores, cheap and easy to use…also use masking tape to mark off a house shape before painting-SUPER EASY And you can use a sharp craft knife to clean up the shape before spraypainting(or brushing)
Thanks for sharing these ideas. I love how simple they are but the nice touch of adding the handles and paint to the jars make them a double gift...after the treats are eaten they will have a pretty decor piece. I think the craft jar with the house on the front is my favourite. Ok, let’s be real...I love all these ideas.
Wow these are awesome! What great ideas! They all came out great and I think many people would repurpose these jars again which keeps them out of landfills for another time!
