- I wanted to create a 3d painting diorama using epoxy resin, acrylic paint and polymer clay of Jack Skellington and Sally from the Nightmare Before Christmas!
Thanks for also showing the parts that didn't go as planned. Helpful to see that even the most talented among us encounter hiccups along the way.
Bit 0f glow in the dark paint for the moon and any lights would have been cool too. Beautiful as is too ❤

Also I would love to see an underwater painting with this technique. Plus, bubbles can be happy accidents when painting an underwater scene haha! I think it would be neat to see layers of far away fish, kind of like how you did the bats. I bet you could even incorporate some glow paints or maybe even some sort of iridescent powder/paint if you wanted to make it have a glowing mystical element.
Btw, it might be a good idea to leave a thin border with masking tape or washi tape when painting (if you watch the Nerd Forge vid you’ll see what I mean). It allows the edges of the resin to bond properly, so you can avoid any potential issues with air pockets forming around the edges. Thankfully you avoided it here, but it might be a good just to be safe in the future! I’ve seen two other videos where it happened to people so I figured I’d mention it.

As an artist, I’ve always wanted to use resin on my canvases so it has a glass finish but I’m intimidated because I worry about destroying my work, especially when I have over 50 hour’s of work into it; not to mention the money lost on a canvas and supplies.
I love your 3D effects in this piece.
Next time you get air bubbles use either a very fine hair type needle to pop them or a blow torch or both if needed. 👍🏻💖👍🏻
