I bought the 2023 version for one reason only. It's less expensive 😂

I completely understand. And with her showing up at Ross and on discount, I wouldn’t fault anyone for wanting her over the two pack version.

Both have their high points, as I do like the black and red paint used on the body of the older figure, but the pinless joints, the lack of floppy legs because of the pinless joints, the double jointed elbows, a proper sash with the phoenix logo sculpted on, and surprisingly, I like the face paint apps more, makes the new one the superior figure for me. You can't go wrong either way, I still wish they had given her the stiletto'd feet since that is what she donned in the comics. I know why they got rid of those feet due to stability issues, but still.
I really hope Hasbro doesn't take too long to do an updated regular Phoenix now.

It was a hard call for me, to be honest. I just really like the paint overall on the old one. The new joints are an absolute win, I'll agree there!
I'm also hoping for a new regular/green Phoenix too!

How can you claim to be a Dark Phoenix with ketchup and mustard colors? More like Bright Phoenix.
That idea to make her into Rachel is genius! It looks like I’ll be looking for old condiment Queen anyway. I might try a DC Multiverse unmasked Batwoman for the OG, buzz cut Rachael.

I couldn't get the old one, got the new one, and although I like that it's using an updated body, the colors just don't work for me, regardless of accuracy, they didn't put much thought into it aesthetically speaking, they just cranked the saturation to 11 and it just doesn't look right

I hear you there. I know the original was hard to come by. I just got lucky finding it in a Toys R Us. I do enjoy the old colors a lot more myself

Facts. I would say accuracy was on the checklist at all. Dark Phoenix is just that, dark. If you look at the source material she should be a deep, dark red/ burgundy. This ain’t it. It’s like giving the classic Cyclops a pastel blue suit. Yeah, it’s blue, but it’s also wrong and doesn’t capture the character.
I do like he idea of making the retro Phoenix into Rachel. She wore her “mother’s” costume as Phoenix on the Excalibur team, but the artist Alan Davis decided to make her color palette brighter, befitting a hero.

Body mold and head are better on new one ( I say head in new cause it’s more comic accurate. In comics she had bright red hair but the body paint is better in the old one since in the comics she had dark red suit

Not necesary to say. Its DARK Phoenix. No Red phoenix. Apart of that the faces are too evident.
