My husband thoroughly enjoys watching your larking videos. Our 3 year old, Gloria, has taken up the interest in watching your shows as well… she seems to have a fascination in listening to your pleasant voices as you search. You should consider doing story book readings for small children once and a while, maybe… on one of your other venues? My husband says your voices have a relaxing effect as he watches your larking.

I couldn't agree more - interesting, beautiful, and sentimental, that someone has gone to the trouble to have it made for someone they obviously loved very much ❤🇦🇺

Immortelles such as the little flowers you found, were usually painted in bright colours.
They were used because they would last longer than real/organic floral wreaths and arrangements , and maintain a colourful presence at the grave of a loved one.
They were very popular in the Victorian and the Edwardian eras.
Think of them as the Victorian equivalent to plastic flowers but kind of fancier in cases.
A brightly and realistically painted porcelain wreath must have been a very beautiful sight to see when strolling around a cemetery. Also very different from the “dome” style decoration.
I could imagine that, just like most products, they would have come in different levels of quality and price.
I’ve read about porcelain wreaths being discovered by people when they were restoring and cleaning vegetation away from old graves - some still had their colours due to being made of quality kiln fired porcelain and glazes. How amazing would that be to find?
Looking online, some of these wreaths were (and still are) absolutely beautiful. Their survival, although found underneath overgrown vegetation, is such a testament to not only their quality, but the care and respect taken by the people attending to the grave back in the day.
I’ve really enjoyed learning about these, and thank you for sharing your knowledge with me here, very much appreciated.
I might have gone on believing that these were cake decorations and/or cake candle holders. 😳
    Thanks again ❤
    🙂🐿🌈❤️

I'm absolutely loving your new format, lovely ladies. The chatter and long shots made me feel like I was sitting there watching you. And I enjoy the jumping back and forth. Each story was interesting and then I got to join the lark again... Yay! Engaging, entertaining, interesting and fun.
    Thanks for the lark 😊

      I do too.
It's like you've got the go cross-eyed for a bit before your eyes can focus on actually finding. Your mind resets, relaxs and becomes more aware of everything in 'this' space. All of the 'stuff' that clutters it up with noise and flashing images disappears.
And you take a deep breath...

The small lid could even have been a snuff box…Those flowers in the domes.I have actually seen a few,the ones I saw had been painted and looked like real flowers, they were very pretty, the trouble with them was if they got knocked or hit with a tiny stone that got through the metal cage, the glass would be compromised and it would get damp and misty inside, which spoilt them. You had some nice finds today !that water looked fast and cold though. Thanks for taking us along ,Love n Light 🥰

Very well done again. Nice hunt. A few thoughts for the Baka lite comb. I’m obviously a letter opener. More crafty could be tiny sea glass glued in the gaps of the comb, possibly lit by a candle behind, or a decorative holiday wall hanging. I thought the long bottle would make a fine funnel, or plant watering ( funnel) to water for a few days. The funnel bottle could be fashioned with a wire mesh basket inside to help filter and clean things. Just spit ballin’ You are my favorite to watch. Such great editing. I enjoy the scenery and music in between. Very enjoyable time for me. Thank you

That is a Minie' bullet often called a Mini ball. Dates back to the 1860's. Extensively used by the Union Forces in the American Civil War. That is called a 3 ringer, in collectors terms. They were more accurate than round ball. Fired from a rifled black powder musket, as opposed to a smooth bore musket. Likely 58 caliber. The piece with Kitchener on it could possibly be the sliding lid to a snuff box?

Shaking hands: “Seeing two hands clasped together can illustrate shaking hands or holding hands, depending on the position of the thumbs. A handshake can mean a greeting to eternal life. If clasped hands have different cuffs, it could indicate a bond between the deceased and a spouse or relative. If one hand is higher than the other, it could also mean that a person is being welcomed by a loved one or a higher power. The hand engraving grew into wide use during the Victorian age.”

Hello Gail and Alex. Gail, you probably already have found out what the name on the first glass stopple bopper you found is, but it says Holbrook and Co. Loved the video. My guess for how many Modd Carbles are in your jar for this year so far is: 67. I loved the "wonky donkey" head, he's so charmingly wonky and endearing. I hope you have since gone back to retrieve the pretty tile you were going to hide in the bushes. I think the Immortelles are a bit tacky, but more environmentally friendly than modern Styrofoam and plastic flower wreaths. Alex, I think you could take the large, round and gorgeous broken stopper and use it as a Christmas tree ornament, or make it into a hot air balloon light catcher to hang over the windowsill of wonders, or it could also be cleaned, sanitized and used to decorate cookies with its criss-cross pattern stamped into the dough. Lots of lovely finds today ladies. Greetings to you from me in eastern North Carolina. ❤😊❤

Some very interesting finds ladies. Plus always some history that always keeps my interest. The little white flowers, clasping hands and dove for example. I've never seen these type of grave goods before. I doubt they would last in todays climate. They would surely go missing, sadly.
How sad that someones grave had these things removed and ended up in the waste.
I'm glad you ladies have found many of them and will i hope, make something beautiful with them.
That box lid thing was so detailed. I hope someone knows who it represents and what it was. I think your probably right with your guess though Alex.
I also loved the pretty pottery pieces you found Gail. The birds were beautiful. What lovely things they must have been when whole.
Thanks for taking us along. Very enjoyable. 😊xx

Over 30 years ago I lived in 12:47 Belchertown, MA USA. I found rolled balls there and they were found in the woods. We didn't know what they were. They didn't seem like marbles because of the rough outside. We called them Unicorn Balls. I still have around 8 U.B.s. Now I found from you that they are called Cog balls. The magic of computers have finally brought forth that they are not from Unicorns! 12:47

I loved the immortelles!I t would be so pretty to arrange the immortelles into a vertical assemblage with perhaps some bits of glass that you found and then put into a shadow box.

As soon as I saw the lead bullet, minie ball came to mind.
The concave part of the bullet was expanded by the pressure in the barrel to give it a tight seal, and allow the rifled barrel to impart spin.
