Very, very nice airplane. I love it. Thank you for posting. I will be at Oshkosh this year booth 625 with my friends Auto PSRU exhibit almost across from the Kitfox booth.
Just saw your add on Barnstormers so looked up your video. Nice Avid. We are located in northeast IN and potentially looking at one near but if it falls through and this is still for sale after OSH, I’ll give you a ring. Currently flying a Velocity i built and now building a Bearhawk 5.
@@WatchmanForthePeople I flew the plane a lot with a friend of mine and we were both between 180 and 200 at the time. Snug but it worked. Much better with the extra 3"
One of the nicest Avids you’ll ever find AND an aircraft with a proper 4-stroke direct drive engine. I wanted this one but got impatient waiting for it to come on the market and pulled the trigger on an entirely different bird a month ago - but would trade for this one in a heartbeat if I could. Jim, are the fuel tanks ethanol resistant???
Max speed is 100 MPH. Just last night I was flying and just for fun I flew in opposite directions to see how strong the wind was. GPS showed 59 kts one way and 91 kts the other. Doing the math and changing to mph, I was averaging 86.2 mph. ASI was reading about 83 mph.
Looking at it some more, the go pro camera seems to give a fish eye look to things. Maybe I will do another video with a different camera. Should have used a higher setting on the camera as well. Kind of blurry when on a larger screen.

Beautiful plane. Well done!

I have a number of videos flying the Avid on my channel. Also other planes as well
That is so nice
Thanks!
hi very nice
I like the way you widened it and the looks when its finished. Looks like a nice flying plane.
Nice avid we use poly fiber also.
Thanks, it now resides in Iowa, and the new owner loves it. I've done 5 planes + with poly fiber and it works good for me.
Jim what was your useable load with the Jabiru 2200 on Avid MK 4? Thanks in advance, Brian
The plane weighed 605 lbs, and gross weight was 1150 lbs. So 545 lbs useful load. Better than a Champ or Chief or Cub... 🙂
Thanks Jim! Your ecer fly with big guy 200+pounds before you widened the cabin?
These are just un 40 before a widened cabin?

@@jimchuk8511 Thanks again Jim , I like what you do! I got the bug to do another!

Standard Avid 14 gallon tanks in both wings.
Cool.
Thanks Glen!
Can these be flown with the doors opened or removed?
I've never flown with the doors off, but have opened one in flight lots to times. The door will just rest up against the wing.
I was just flying last evening with the left door open. Sure makes for a clear view.
What is max speed? And cruise speed?

@@jimchuk8511 Thanks
Is it still available?
A guy is supposed to pick it up in a couple of weeks. Jim
Not yet, but maybe in the next couple of weeks.
@Scot Yount No, northern Mn. but the snow is still 3' deep, so it seems like Alaska.
Jim beautiful! Looks like the tail feathers are larger then OEM? Maybe just an illusion.
Nope, factory standard size for a MK IV. Thanks!
