Thank you so much for this video and the 3D model! This was so helpful and I saved money. I was really sad that the hinge was broken and didn’t know what to do. I’m glad I found your video. I don’t know or have the tools to solder so I followed the advice of others and clipped off the original hinge. This saved me so much time and money. So I appreciate this so much!

Hey there, thank you incredibly much! My headphones broke in the exact same spot, used your 3d model and it works perfectly! Just one point: please tell in advance that with the model attached it is not necessary to detach all the wires and then solder them again: it is enough to cut open the existing aluminium hinge with a dremel (being careful not to touch the cable) and fit the cable in the 3D print part; I was almost going to give up when I realized this! Thank you a lot again!

Yes you can cut it with a dremel, just be super careful not to cut the cables. Good luck!

Thanks a lot for your sharing. Could you also please do us a favor and create another STL model for the left hinge? As a naive environment protectionist who just starts to repair things, I highly really appreciate that. 🙂

Hello, can you describe how the shim/ washers in the hinge are supposed to be fitted? My headphones just fell apart so I have not seen how they where fitted originally. You do this in the video @8:36 but it is fast forward speed so hard to see how you put them in. Thanks in advance :)

Thank you for the video!! I have a question, what type of screw is necessary for that part? Mine is broke in the same spot but the screw is gone.

Hey! Thank you. What materials did you use in the 3d print?
I have used this fix a lot of times now, and an endlessly grateful for it but my recent ones keep snapping immediately!

Thanks for this video. Really helpfull. Unfortunately I can not solve my problem. The matter is, that with each step I hear some extra sound in the right earphone. It seems that some detail has fallen off and is hanging out. I've checked, and there are no such details. Everything holds up very well. Can anybody maybe give me a couple of tips? It's hard to listen to music during jogging...

Hello. Is it possible to buy one of your hinges and ship to sweden?

  •  3 ปีที่แล้ว

No need to disassemble headphones, or use solder. I used a small saw to cut the original metal part. But I cut my finger, be careful ;)

What kind of glue did you use to put the case back over the wires?

    • @zeroknowledge3880
      @zeroknowledge3880  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can use any glue!
If I remember correctly, I think I just put the case back and the old glue was sufficient.

I had same broken headphones. Thanks, fixed it with this part. One thing though, if you have broken hinge, my advice is to cut it off with wire cutter or little saw or smth. Thus there is no need to disassemble headphones, or use solder.
Author, do you have the old exact model of the hinge? It seems that rotation limiter is not present in updated hinge. It keeps spinning 360 deg. In the original hinge there are some limiter present.

Glad it worked! Thanks for the tip!
The rotation limiter is a known issue, both in the updated design and the previous design. I think you have to increase the height of the rotation stoppers for it to work properly.
