    I have had much success with the following cleaning method. I remove the tube from the milk fridge, fill the clear plastic device that came with the machine with very hot water, attach the now unconnected end of the tube to the plastic container and press the "one portion milk" button and have the water run through the tube and the milk mechanism. If there is still milk residue in the tube, I run a very slim skewer through the tube and use it to gently scrape the residue. I then run it again all through the "one portion milk" with the tube attached to the plastic cup. It works very well and saves the extremely high cost of replacement tubes.

    I think Gail is brilliant with a wicked sense of humour. Absolutely great. Bring her over to the UK on tour!

    I hope that I'm just missing something but despite cleaning mine per the instructions that came with the manual, it just doesn't work well. 1st week this machine did great milk frothing. Despite cleaning as required, it has just gotten worse and worse. Just made a latte and didn't look any better than pouring some milk into my glass after making the drink would have looked. This is INCREDIBLY frustrating for a $2,000 coffee maker. I'm using whole milk, I clean using the cleanser, I rinse and dry with fresh water, ensure that it dries for HOURS between cleaning and then putting it all back in place. Only difference between your video and my procedure is I don't soak in the solution overnight, but the manual doesn't call for that.

    what is a good alternative to the Jura cleaning solution? Its kind of a rip off to have to buy their specific cleaner. Why not just soap and water and vinegar or some homemade cleaner which would be pennies as opposed to $27 per 1Liter bottle of cleaner?

    It is important to keep the milk system clean. While the "milk rinse" function is part of the Jura, I find that it doesn't get all the milk out of the frothing unit, as verified by taking apart the frothing unit. At the end of the day, I do take apart the frothing unit and soak it in warm water for about 10 minutes, to get all the stuff out. I do perform the more thorough rinse with the solution every weekend. It's a bit of a chore, but it isn't too bad once you get the daily routines down.

    Any chance you could show us how to dismantle and rinse the dual spout of the ENA 8 please

    • @dm9152
      @dm9152 ปีที่แล้ว

      The ENA 8 has a light bulb built into the milk spout as you disassemble for soaking in the solution. Can that light section be soaked in the solution too? Yes, Jura COMPLETELY ignores our milk hose cleaning problem. The auto clean does not provide enough strong pressure to clean it. I do the milk cleaning every night but the hose gets funky even then!

    So how many cleanings can you get from that itty bitty bottle? Looks like you would go through one a week. My understanding is that you use that as a WEEKLY cleaning, but still, it's a small bottle. That or Jura needs to offer the solution by the gallon.......

    Soo is it safe to just use plain water to do the cleaning? I mean if I just wanna have a cup of Latte or two the most on a single day, I can easily hit the clean button that does it in 3minutes but starting to use the expensive liquid with each drinking session seems ridiculous.

      I agree. Mine is new. Does once a week with detergent works long as you rinse with water when you make a milk drink? We use milk every few days

    • @TheTanelChannel

      @@jlloyd120 yeah I´ve been using mine now for 6 months, I do the milk system clean with the special liquid like once or twice a week! To me seems totally fine to just rinse the system with water instead. No issues at all, been having coffee three times a day everyday basicly. Cleaning tablets for the complete system clean are great and easy too. Very satisfied with Jura.

    I have a Jura ENA 9 see my video Foam frothing problem solved Jura 9 coffee maker. You just have to do a deep clean by pressing the center button down and holding it and let it suck water through the straw. I do it when done making foamed coffee drinks and it works great every time next time I make coffee.. I do not use their cleaner but reverse osmosis sink filtered waterr.

      Hey Michael, I am thinking on doing the same.. how has the machine been living up to if you just use water? Seems reaallllly expensive to use the special solution for each bloody drink.. or each day.

    Thanks for the useful video. I have just bought a similar Jura machine and could not find the proportions for diluting the cleaning solution. Google bought me here :)

    Hey Gail. I have an S8. Do I need to run the milk clean cycle with the milk solution after using a milk drink? So if I make a milk drink every morning I need to clean it every single day with the solution? I feel like that would cost an insane amount of money. Or can I just run it with water only pretending I put solution?

    This video pushed me away from Jura. Daily, special cleaning with Jura's special cleaning solution is a big no.

    • @tgoel
      @tgoel ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't get it. Its just milk. If I run hot water through the system immediately, it should rinse it out. And I can just take the whole system apart as she shows in the conclusion and wash with warm soapy water. So what's the logic behind the cleaning tabs or solution? Isn't that some sort of soap anyways? Super turned away.

    • @Al-qn3sj
      @Al-qn3sj ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tgoel I believe the logic behind the cleaning solution everyday is that when you use milk throughout the course of a day there will be times when it just sits there and solidifies a bit. I believe for those who rinse with water right after then make they make their mile beverage(s), the whole systems will get purged of any milk residue and there will be no need for the cleaning solution everyday. At that point you can use the solution once a week or maybe even once a month. Would love it if someone from Jura would say something (I think nobody wants to destryo this great recurring revenue model for Jura).

      I agree and this is what turns me off from the whole Jura line. I might go with DeLongui for their external milk system that I can put in the fridge. I can then clean that every 2 or 3 days.

    Looks like simple rinse with water is what Jura Support is recommending in this video: th-cam.com/video/_vSZ3p15Wuk/w-d-xo.html
