Absolute steal for sure. Wouldn't like to stay for 5 nights and having 250 quid held. Talk about taking money out of the local community. Great vid pal
I was at the doctor's today and there were 2 people there from the Doric Hotel who had left all their medication at home and needed a prescription as were on holiday.
The price is not bad really. I think with these old style hotels in Blackpool, you need to expect that the place is going to be a bit dated. On entrance (Ground Floor) all looks nice around reception, dining room and bar areas. Once you start to go to your room, typical narrow corridors, lots of door to push open, small lifts, old carpets in corridors, small rooms and bathrooms. It may suit some people more than others. Blackpool hotels are used to a high turnover in customers. If you just want somewhere to get your head down for the night, you can't really go wrong. The location is perfect. I am not sure if 'All Inclusive' is a winner for Blackpool. However there are still a lot of elderly who visit and may rely on the hotel more. One thing is for sure. I would not use the pool or it's facilities. Looked unsafe and grubby. Plus the holding back of money (£50pn) This is not necessary. So No I would not stay here personally.
Hi that second room looked lovely the refurbished one you got. I would not stay there as its to dated and i don't like they have a hold of your money. The view you had frontal sea view looked cool.
The hotel sheraton next door is a lot nicer very modern large lift lovely state of the art swimmimg pool beautiful rooms and bedrooms and bathrooms one of the best in blackpool 😊
Hi. Do you know of a hotel, b&b in Blackpool that has guaranteed safe bicycle storage? Some b&bs have rather small rooms.Narrow stairs etc Any suggestions? Thanks
@@wanderingwiganer No problem👍Any chance you know of a bike shop where you can hire a normal bicycle for the day?(not an ebike). If not no problem.Have a good day👍
I've stayed at the Doric many times they've never took any money extra from me it's probably because you payed £37 because it's a lot dearer than what you payed
Evenin !!! a bit blowey there that’s not good taking more money than they should that’s put me off straight away oh dear no drink tonight then oh Crickey thought I was going back into Victoria times in that bathroom 🤣 oh dear not good that shower nah I won’t be stayin there even the second room nah not for me till the next one 😊
So you got changed £50 a night deposit? That’s ridiculous I’ve never heard of a deposit being paid in BLACKPOOL what if you didn’t have it? The room looks adequate I suppose it’s ok for the money but your kettle didn’t look 👀 good I wouldn’t have used it at least the air dryer is working but what’s the use in using it if you can’t wash your hair in the shower lol 😂 the 2nd room looks better
Yeah £50pn deposit charged to my card as a pre auth also forgot to note that when checking out I was told this money can take up to a week to show back in my account!
Sounds as though they have had trouble with non payers in the past. I have been in hotels who take the credit card no and operate a cashless tab where you charge to the room and settle up at the end so perhaps they have had people not paying and doing a bunk.

The second room was cleaner in the shower. Still a very good price for a room though. Very informative thank you Xx

Another great review. 50 pounds being held is ridiculous. Thanks for your excellent video.
Tell me about it! Thanks 😊
Kettle looked ok to me
I never used to check the kettle in hotels , I do it every time now, but it has to be really bad before I miss my brew, I'm a bit of tea addict
I must admit a old habit of mine was to piss in the kettle it was nearer than the bog
The hotel sheraton next door is a lot nicer very modern large lift lovely state of the art swimmimg pool beautiful rooms and bedrooms and bathrooms one of the best in blackpool 😊
Thanks I'll check it out

Did u bring your own mug with your catchphrase 'Is the kettle clean 'in the first bedroom? 🙂
I did 🤣

No if you book via a 3rd party the pre auth your card

i remember that hotel but not wheelchair friendly tho

Haha you on reflection the bathroom was rather old 🤣
Why do they keep £50 pn 🤔🤔
As a security deposit

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I know you booked on line but what would they do if you walked in and paid cash
Most places don't take cash anymore so I'm not sure
Looks nice but the extra £150 is a lot to me lol
Yep it's £50 pre - auth per night
Blimey I'll just stick to my b and bs lol 👍

@lparky4409 The room was pre paid
The doric is quoting me £275 for two people, two nights, Nov 1st-3rd 😳😂
Wow!!!! That is steep
And that's even paying for breakfast when we get there 😅
@rebeccaj6772 wow is there a special event on that weekend?
@@wanderingwiganer I've no idea to be honest. We're coming up to see John Bishop but other than that I'm not sure 🤔
Not all including all drinks it’s a not good hotel
