It is really nice listening to your thoughts and challenges and I wish I was your age again so I could do more of what you are doing. I bought a small truck a few years ago and set it up so I could keep all my filming equipment in it, as I make documentaries for a job, and set it up for two people to sleep in it. During the winter it gets cold however I bought a small power generator and can run a fan heater that does not run the risk of being gassed. I have a gas cooker that I can use for heating but it goes through a lot of gas if I do that. You can also stay in camp grounds and if you have an adapter cord, you can plug into the power they have. I also built some shelves as it provides extra room to store things as trucks can be a bit limiting space wise.

I would invest in 2 hot water bottles. They will keep you toasty warm at night. For a while at least

Be careful (don't do it) with any kind of combustion heater in the truck.
There have been carbon monoxide fatalities in the past of people using gas cookers to heat camper vans.
You can get gas heaters for caravans and boats but they are specifically designed for the purpose.

Thank you for your advise! 🍀It is indeed something you have to be careful with. If possible, I would actually prefer to try without any heating (in such a small space) for as long as possible

@@walkingoffthebeatenpath Diesel heaters are the way to go. Much safer than gas-fuelled ones. Available in New Zealand.
