When I did mine yesterday, I found if I close all my apps on my phone, turn off Wifi and get away from the crowd really helped a lot. Crowds effect network congestion. Little confused why she didn’t have the app open already, it costed her some time. What I did, was open the app 4 minutes before 8am and stay on the main page in the Disneyland app then right at 8am hit the picture for rise and then the join boarding group button popped up. I got 20. Another tip is to download a network speed test utility app so you know where in the park you are getting a good connection. Glad y’all had a good time. I wanna say hi one time, if I ever see you.

The ride is Amazing!!! We are going to Disneyland in a few weeks and I’m trying to research the best way to get boarding passes while we are there too!

Now that I have rode the ride already, I actually wanna test a theory by scanning my pass into Disneyland before 8am then actually leave and maybe walk to downtown Disney to get away from people and to get a real fast connection. When you are around so many people in one area the cellphone towers can’t handle the load hence you have slowed down connection. Reason why I think it might work is because I have scanned in Disneyland in the past and actually left the property and went home and was still able to get fast passes all day even though I was not there anymore.
jgennitti it was a much easier process when we did it a month ago at Hollywood Studios because everyone wasn’t trying to get the boarding passes at the same time (they have since changed their process and it is the same as Disneyland’s now). I have thought it would be wise now though to get away from the crowds to get the boarding passes and not be right in the middle of the crowds-and to find where you have the best cell coverage. I’m going to download an app to do that before we go to Disneyland in a few weeks-and figure out where a good (non crowded 😂) place to try to get the boarding passes is-I don’t think it’s inside of Galaxy’s Edge though.
I LOVE watching you love this ride and experience.....also....because I'm 65 years old. I saw the first Star Wars when it hit the theaters. I was so happy we finally have this type of space movie come out. Who knew...I didn't. Born in 1955, Steve Jobs born 3 months later after me and, Disneyland born 3 months after Steve. I never imagined this ride would be here 65 years later with so many young fans. I went on the Rocket to the Moon at DL when I was 4 years old, and I cried, I remember crying, because I thought we were really going to the moon. I cherish my historical perspective, and LOVE ALL OF YOU for still loving Star Wars. It is surreal for me. Thank you for being so awesome, from all us old fogies!!! We happen to be a McCarthy family of about 20 AP's from SF bay area, and go to DL 6-10 times a year. Love you!!!!! Wish I could meet any of you. Your'e the best...thank you for your videos.

I've done this experience a few times and this is the first time I've noticed the crashing TIE Fighter that causes the "depressurization" with Vader at 24:52. She points and goes "Look at that!!!" Awesome capture. Well done.

I went on opening day too. Once I rode it I immediately left Disneyland because there was no other ride in the park that would remotely compare to what I had just witnessed. By far the best ride Disney has offered in such a long time.
Didn’t get into park till 8:30 so didn’t get on ride, but met u guys, Adam the woo. You guys were so friendly to me and my wife and took pictures. Thank u soo much.

When I did it we got group 64 the passes were gone by 8:01am we were called at noon we were done by 12:40 wasn't bad at all, we were at DCA when our group got called so it took about 10-15 minutes to get back.
Amazing! Emotional! We get it! We rode Rise of Resistance today at WDW! We were up at 4 at the park before 6 - in the park at 6:30 - stressing because wifi was spotty but success at 7 am. We got boarding group 21. Completely random - guest next to us in the 70s. Worth every second of missed sleep. Yes we teared up & were speechless after the ride! Kudos Disney - you hit this one out of the park!
I legit cried watching this video. I grew up watching Star Wars because of my dad. I've been a fan for so long. I was a fan before Star Wars was Disney. Hearing Spencer going "No way" throughout the ride, I felt that. That would be me. Thank you for taking the time to show us, the ones that can't be there, your experience. I really need to save some money and get my ass there asap.

Monday 1/27/20 - Park opened at 9am. I got there at 9:07am. Got boarding group 122... totally bummed... but luckily my boarding group was the very last group to be called. I got super duper duper lucky. Ride was amazing! Simply brilliant! Going again on Wednesday!!!
This is so great! We were able to go on Rise a few weeks ago at Hollywood Studios in Florida...and it was such an amazing experience! I totally get the kid crying afterward😊 I LOVED the room with the Storm Troopers! I agree you really need time afterward to process it! We are going to Disneyland in a few weeks and I’m determined to get to ride it there as well!
Katie you laughed like I did through the whole Millennium Falcon ride. I suspect i will be as emotional after riding. For those of us who are first generation Star Wars ( I was 11 yrs old when I watched the original at the movie theatre) it was unfathomable at that time to think you could for a few minutes live in the movie. Thats what it looks like. Hoping to ride this spring. Thanks for sharing and staying awake 24 hours :)

I am Canadian and can only come to California every few years. I have bought passes and am scheduling a visit late fall. I am so excited and your videos keep my excitement up. I have been to the parks as a kid including Disney’s 25th Anniversary and brought my 4 kids three times including the 50th and 60th Anniversary. This will be the 65th anniversary. My kids know they have to bring me for the 75 and 100. (Disney is ten years my senior)
I got boarding group 12 opening day! I got my notification just after I got my call for my breakfast reservation at Carnation Cafe about 8:50a. Were there boarding groups 1-11 that day?
Any chance you know where the last chicken exit is? My mom doesn't do rides with any semblance of a drop but she wants to go through as much of the queue as possible
Just spent three days there last week before the ride opening to avoid crowds which worked great...but then again we missed an opportunity to ride Rise. We are good with waiting until crowds die down a little.

That's what I did too on opening day. The start up splash screen cost people valuable seconds I think. I got group 12!
