Read up on the security vulnerabilities in the TikTok API. It's essentially malware for phones. Credentials can be lifted from the in-app browser and sent anywhere the app devs want. It's a cyber tool disguised as a social media app.

Look, I don’t defend her in any way, but any defense lawyer will tell you not to answer a question with a yes or no if you think it is a question that cannot simply be answered with a yes or no. His repeated demand she answer yes or no in any court of law would be met with a lawyer asking the judge to have her answer yes or no at which time she would tell the judge she cannot. When someone prefaces their answer to a question with, "Here's what I can tell you...", that means they are not answering truly or completely as that preface is known as a "qualifier". Also, she never agrees that she "doesn't know" the answers to the questions he is asking, even though he directly asked her numerous times if her testimony is that she doesn't know. She says, "I wouldn't be able to tell you", which are carefully parsed words that allow her to plausibly deny she is committing perjury. Her dress and Kinesics also indicate she is not forthcoming. Her shirt is buttoned all the way to the top and her arms are forming a barrier in front of her even though she is separated from Senator Hawley by not only distance but a table. Her eye movement and facial expressions also indicate a lack of truthfulness. At times she appears to be searching for an answer with her eyes. A forensic interviewer would eat her alive. Finally, she's a total "Karen", hairdo and all.

Look, I don’t defend her in any way, but any defense lawyer will tell you not to answer a question with a yes or no if you think it is a question that cannot simply be answered with a yes or no. His repeated demand she answer yes or no in any court of law would be met with a lawyer asking the judge to have her answer yes or no at which time she would tell the judge she cannot. He would then instruct the lawyer to ask the question a different way or accept her answer. These hearings are the same as a court of law only no Judge presides, thus the arrogance of legislatures (both D & R) insisting on yes or no answer.s. You can tell he is frustrated that she won’t answer his question the way he wants it answered, but that is the witnesses right to do so. It also is evidenced by the fact he cannot hold her in contempt of Congress for her refusal to answer yes or no. Again, I don’t care for her and don’t approve of TikTok because I do believe they are owned and used as a subversive data mining social app by the Chinese Government, but you can’t change our laws and procedures simply because that is your belief. If they truly are doing something illegal, then the DOJ should investigate and present evidence and charges to that affect, not just showboat and make a mockery of the system for your own political benefit.

That being said, if anyone thinks that TikTok are the only problem, they really are not. Every social media platform including the one that we are currently on are doing this sort of thing in some way or another with our data.
The difference is, the data shared with TikTok is directly accessible by CCP which is actively censoring and prosecuting everyone who tries to speak against it's leadership. Not to mention police and other deals to keep Chinese students and citizens "in check" when abroad.

You will not find any serious technology that do not protect data even from the developers.
