Thanks have pointed me the right direction I was expecting a bad solenoid after running a smoke test and have the exact symptom you described. I will be testing power at the solenoid next. Broken or rotten wires would not be a surprise
I think the cam phasers are going out in my only truck. Life has been a little tricky the last few months since my dad passed away. Anyway… I don’t have the money right now to put the truck in the shop for an estimate. I think it’s likely going to need cam phasers and likely the VVT solenoids too. Do you know about how much shops would charge to do the cam phasers and vvt solenoids on a 2012 F150 with a 3.5 ecoboost? If I can find the money to get that kind of job done… would it be advantageous to go ahead and put new timing chains and guides on it at the same time? Or do the timing chains require a lot more work?

IS BAD ??? never used one... i was thinking might help . With a faster diagnosis. With the wiring diagram. Just curious. Used my powerprobe with a 5 v reference. Just asking for your expertise. I respect your tutorials.
My car was recently running like crap. It only lasted a moment and cleared up. I checked the codes and found an EVAP code. I cleared it and it came back. I pulled the hose off the purge valve and found it full of liquid fuel. I blew it out drove the car to work for a week and pulls the hose off again. Once again it was full of liquid fuel, though the car was not running poorly at all this time. What the hell am I looking at here?
Stuck or clogged vent valve not allowing the system to vent so it's pulling raw fuel but with that being said Your charcoal cannister is prob also damaged so it needs replaced as well
im a 35 year vet collision repair and dent wizard trained pdr guy.but one car cost our shop 3 grand from a so called mis diagosied estimate?.i tell you what that little pretty blonde and her doctor husband can pound rocks!
