Ngl seeing Terapagos walking towards us cutely then getting captured by Kieran is kinda scary
agreed
That scene actually broke my heart. 💔
It’s arguably Kieran’s moral event horizon. Not wanting to be rejected by a Legendary for the player again, Kieran forced this one to become his partner… only to almost get immediate karma when he can’t control Terapagos’ Terastalized form and would have gotten hurt or killed by the output of energy if not for Koraidon/Miraidon.
@@WriterKing92 Considering how it breaks the Master Ball it was caught in once it Terastalizes, it makes me think that Terapagos was PISSED at Kieran for denying it the trainer it liked and trying to use it against said trainer for selfish reasons.
@@LovelyCinccino Exactly. Terapagos was NOT happy about the choice being taken from it. It’s only because Game Freak wanted the DLC to end on a happy note that Kieran got his moment of redemption, because narratively, him getting some form of karma-expelled or permanently stripped of his Champion status and removed from the BB League, for example-would be an appropriate punishment.
Oh, and while we’re on the subject of people who deserve more than the slap on the wrist they got, Briar needs to lose her teaching license. She knowingly fed Kieran’s toxic mindset, clearly taking advantage of him when he was at his worst, outright PRAISING him for deliberately enslaving Terapagos by tossing that Master Ball, and gaslighting him into Terrastalizing it when it was obviously a bad idea to do so outside a controlled environment, all for research purposes and to fuel her ego! What’s worse is she clearly intended to do further experiments with Kieran at Blueberry Academy-near children, no less! If Kieran wasn’t so obsessed with beating the protagonist and chose to battle in Area Zero, Kieran and Briar could have put the entire school in danger from Terapagos!
13:54 They did Kieran’s character very well here. Coming back to his true self and letting go of his desire to beat the main character so he could help them. Even the music compliments it in a heart touching way, what an amazing rival.
Been playing since Gen 1, loved Kieran, easily one of the best if not the best rival in the series! Some folks don't like his arc and how edgy the kid can be but he is a kid, I think everything about him feels very in character for a 11-13 year old and I loved having a rival that had a gurge against you that was shown to develop. Lot of folks praise Gen 1 and 2 for antagonistic rivals but those arcs feel flat because you never see those rivalries form.
I just wish he go back to his first look
I legit cried during that
This confirms that the Hidden Treasure of Area Zero is still the friends we made along the way!
well thats boring
That's so cliche
And it's pokemon, what did you expect?
@@Infamous_wu13 Part 1 DLC story did better than Part 2
All that buildup and for what? But I will say that the gameplay is rly good and the boss fights are hard enough that if you lack a solid team, you would struggle.
The game clearly states that the treasure is Terapagos.
Miraidon: You owe me a sandwich for that save!
While it does feel a bit… sudden?, I’m really happy to see Kieran got a full arc from the bitter younger brother to someone who wants to be the Player’s friend. I really ended up feeling for him by the Elite Four battle, and especially here.
Well when your obsession almost makes a turtle made of pure energy vaporize you, your sister, and your friend, things are put very quickly into perspective.
i didn’t really feel bad about him at all, when you become a massive bully it’s easy for me to want to crush you, plus you endangered my life alongside your own, your sister’s, and your teacher’s
also, how disrespectful do you have to be to say that all the terrible things you did in between the teal mask and the indigo disk was my fault, and say that you “ just wanted to be like me”? get out of here, i honestly wish there was an option to not forgive him because i couldn’t, if you can more power to you, but i just can’t do it
i really like how pkc took the advice of how everyone was shocked hop never got pissed once that he kept getting one up’d by his own brother and best friend and made him into a character with a small arc in this dlc. its kinda nice having a character how actually dislikes us for being good for once.
And then the angsty kid chooses to forget all that and become friends with us anyways, very cool /s
Yet, despite that, I still take this less seriously than I do Hop.
yall are so masochistic, yall loved to be hated so much?
@@MusicComet well to be fair he is like. 9
So Bea from Sword/Shield and Wally from Ruby/Sapphire are a bit of a joke to you? Because they basically were both Rivals you `curb stomped` and they had to change in very sizable ways to be very completely different characters by the end of the respective games they appeared in.
And did not need OPTIONAL DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT TO BE SOLD SEPARATELY TO GET THAT COMPLETE CHARACTER ARC EITHER.
Hell, the fact Kieran`s sister exists might as well not exist because she has basically no real need to being in the plot itself since she is just a random npc tag in where they could of actually had Arven, Penny or Nemona present instead.
Seriously, it would of probably been better to flesh out those 3 in the DLCs then just introduce entirely new characters to pad out the Pokemon Masters EX gacha roster like they did almost immediately after the scarlet/violet games came out.
Literally just Fire emblem Heroes new unit marketing shenigans right there.
i love that they are making the bosses resist much, instead of beating a team really quick with one pokemon
Pokemon bosses really should do this more often. It gives more challenge.
I kinda needed 2 - and they were Toxicroack/Drednaw, nothing too overkill

Probably the first time a Master Ball hasn't worked in the games
Think it’s more of a case that it going terastal caused it to go berserk then having anything todo with a master ball.
Since the gimmick is to catch anything without fail, not have absolute control over it.
Doesn’t help visual wise, it had NOTHING to denote it from being any different from a normal pokeball besides the model(since normally they have a special animation in previous Pokémon games to denote it a lot better), just make the catch actually work and then the ball just gets wrecked later, mimicking how Leon tried to catch Eternatus and the ball failing, but it’s not like he tried to weaken it as far as I’m aware.
Which can easily translate to after you ‘catch’ the Pokémon, it’s no different than a normal pokeball and very niche cases like a friendball is an exception to that in some ends.
Still, the fact terapagos seems to have effectively nothing todo with blueberry academy and is just randomly added to the end of it and it only gets its ‘super form’ specifically via terastallization felt like too much of a lazy cop out.
Just as much as they seem to skip quite a few hypes to go with what is an even lazier story approach somehow, with it just being trainer from first DLC is amgry and causes trouble the entire 2nd DLC and just randomly gets used to help catch super special signature Pokémon of the DLC cause a professor just conviently decided to rely on a ‘champion’ who just lost its status and clearly a problem child then maybe make use of the champ before them or the one who clearly had status as a paldean champion and acquired ogrepon to do the job instead.
@@BladeSerph uhhh.. sir, is your finger okay
People forget Masterballs could fail in gen 1.
@@Treforcero very sure my wallet is more happy it didn’t buy the DLC at all, cause even sword/shield’s dlc looked more flavorful since atleast the legendaries for those DLCs were actually the focus of the entire story instead of just being randomly present or just randomly at the end, and did not seem to include much ‘plot’ to what exactly was up with terastalization.
Hell, I remember theories talking about how this DLC was gonna overlap both versions, give a better clarity on paradox pokemon and more.
As far as I can tell, it’s just random super special Pokémon at the end that just uses terastalization and effectively nothing more beyond that.
Makes even the fact terapagos was being theorized as a ‘dream wish’ Pokémon would have been nicer instead.
@@BladeSerphTalk about writing essays.💀
Putting terapagos in a regular pokeball after it broke out of Kierans master ball is absolute disrespect and I love it 😂😂😂
Tbh I put mine in a Friend ball like Ogerpon
I put mine in a master ball like kieran and also because I had 2 anyway
After playing it, I ended up putting mine in a beast ball
I did the same thing though I mainley didn't want to waste my extra pokeballs especially my extra masterballs on an instant catch.
I put mine in the masterball that I got from the dlc (not the main story)
If you don't know what the two options were they were "Come on, Kieran" and "let's do it together!"

Sooo is it just me, or did this explain literally nothing about the base game? Like, remember how Arvin directly brought up the question of how Paradox Pokémon appeared centuries before the time machine was made to bring them here? They just brought up that question only to never follow up on it?
Kieran do the most giga chad moves i ever seen in Pokemon games, instantly yeeted a rare Pokemon with Master Ball lol😂
Shit genuinely had me shocked 😂
The ending was so heartwarming, knowing Kieran wasn't possessed, but just wanted to be like the player. As for me, I'm still midway through the DLC, and those who hate this ending? I think they have no emotions, even if the story was weak as I was touched.
think about it like this: after seeing kieran become a bully, push everyone in his life away and treat them like objects rather than people, mock and belittle us, disrespect legendary pokemon in their own home to the point where they lash out in anger, and refuse to help calm it down until we have to beg him to, hearing him say “i just want to be like you” comes off as him saying “if you do all these things, then i can do it too”
except we aren’t bullies, we don’t treat people like objects, and we don’t disrespect legendary pokemon (in sv, mind you, the ruined quartet + the lousy three are evil so they deserve to be disrespected, but koraidon/miraidon + ogerpon chose to go with us, not the other way around)
kieran built a false image of us in his head and used that to justify all of the things he did post teal mask by claiming he wanted to be like us, and that’s why i feel no sympathy for him and didn’t really feel good during the ending, if there was an option to not forgive him i would’ve chosen it because i can’t forgive him, it’s not my problem if you can, more power to you, but don’t act like “anyone who doesn’t like the ending is emotionless” because people have different experiences than you
@@TheDunsparceGames I respect your opinion. As what I was saying is of my opinion.
@@DavidBurgessMechanicalMusic and i apologize if i came off as passive aggressive, i also respect your opinion, just the little comment at the end about how people who didn’t like the ending have no feelings sounded passive aggressive

This gave me goosebumps 😅😅 kinda loved it.
So what's the deal with Paradox Pokemon? Is there an answer as to how Terapagos created/brought them to the present? Is the time machine really a time machine? And what about where Sada and Turo went?
we probably will remain as confused as you
Until they eventually make the `Legends` game for Paldea or some Movie bait shenigans to draw people in for Movie exclusive versions of Miraidon/Koraidon, very sure we can just treat it as gamefreak did the same thing with Scarlet/Violet as LoZ Tears of the kingdom did, flipped off its plot beats to likely just shove in a bare bones story, if they dont plan to straight up include a SECOND round of paid DLC to taunt people to buy it to learn of the `TRUE SECRETS OF AREA ZERO` or some other taunt-some name like that.
Lmao no. It’s Eternatus all over again. They’re just THEIR. That’s it.

I am betting on the fact that the reason why Terapagos went berserk is because it was fed too much power after we defeated it in battle

Incredibly how people gets to the end and neither ai have started playing and streaming it.
Can’t be the only one who was very confused with the direction they took the DLC. Thought it was going to explain all the mysteries and remaining questions of the base game/main story, but instead game freak decides to make it center around an emotionally unstable teenager!?! Also the entire thing (part 1 and 2) was like 10 hours total, I was completely shocked to find out all you do in part 2 is catch an alolan Pokémon for the class, battle the four Elite four members, then battle the champ, and after that you just go straight to area zero where you battle 3 random Tera Pokémon and then you fight the magical turtle. Like I was expecting part 1 to be minimal in story because that’s how it was with gen 8’s dlc, but I was completely shocked to find out that this is basically the same length of part 1’s (while the crown tundra’s story was WAY longer and honestly more interesting in both location and story [this is coming from someone who hated gen 8 btw])
Agreed. Indigo disk was very underwhelming
Well...there's an event when you take Terapagos to the Crystal Lake in Kitakami...they kinda explain some things...JUST BARELY
I hard agree with you on this. I just finished the DLC to the point of the credits and it felt sooooo underwhelming. There was basically no story besides “Kieran is mad at you for stealing the Pokémon he’s obsessed with” and even then it was super streamlined into forcing another Elite 4 and Champion plot. It feels like they shoehorned in the last part of Terapagos at the end of the DLC last minute since it literally has nothing to do with the main plot. Lastly, all the shiny locked legendaries and how most of the new content and Pokémon are locked behind the static snacks mechanic PISSES ME OFF!!! This DLC was just so bad in my eyes.
@@LetsPlaySagaraStyleWhat did they explain exactly? 😮
@@BladedShardTo summerize, what we get from the scene is that the main plot of Scarlet & Violet is in of itself a paradox, and we unknowingly contributed to it. And yes there is some past/future/another world magic going on in it.
The scene is pretty unexpected by Pokemon standards, in spite of us not receiving that much lore. So I left out some parts of it if you want to know yourself. But yes, they really went with a weird route for that part of the narrative. I think some things will remain unanswerd for a good while.

Was hoping Terapagos would have be all types defensively at the same time to ramp up the difficulty in its fight, something like the awakened Origin Giratina in Insurgence with the Omnitype ability, but it’s too bad the type gemstones are only visuals in the fight sadly… still so easy for the battles
Apparently its second form does just that, but the ultimate one nullifies terrain and weather.
ah makes sense, since the third legendary always negates the prior 2 boxarts (korai/mirai) abilities and shennanigans
So its steel Dragon type, wich is offensively good and defensively ok. Its a glorified Normal Type, that could get hit by ghost and resist psychic.

I just dont get it... Wasnt this supposed to be the big bad legendary that was taking control of Heath and Sada/Turo's will? And it ultimately boils down to being a cutesy turtle that does nothing of interest?
This was THE biggest bit of interesting lore the whole game was building up to, and instead of that we get a shitty redemption arc for a character thats just annoying? Im truly astounded.
Ok, after watching further developments in the dlc I will say... I still like the idea of terapagos controlling people through their dreams as a premise a lot more than the time loop paradox they did with the professors/heath actually getting their big motivation from you (or in heath's case, a future version of himself since he was given a page written in his handwriting... Or maybe briar gave it to him idk). BUT... Fair enough its still a pretty cool idea and seeing the actual professor was neat, albeit kinda bitter sweet since they just straight up show they have 0-little care for arven.
How? These games were mid from the get-go, maybe if people actually stopped buying into these lesser titles due to brand loyalty and started demanding higher quality games, we could've actually gotten a better story out of it.
Naaah, you misunderstand. Android Turo and Sada were just overridden by the master AI that oversaw Area Zero. They were a subset protocol that took over for the real professor when they got killed by the version's angry Legendary. The dead Professor was just obsessed with Terastal Energy, much like Briar but way more off the deep end and with a dash of time travel.
@@megaman37456 no the story in the base game was actually great, it's either the best/2nd best one with gen 5 being the only real competition. Arven and team star had genuinely deep stories that told about the effects of child neglect, bullied kids turning into monsters for revenge/cover up schemes, hell even nemona is one of the better rivals story wise since she genuinely has an amazing motivation to battle and better you so she can finally have a new height to work towards. Now the storytelling revolving around a bunch of text boxes arguably is disappointing sure, but the stories themselves were the best they've been since gen 5. I just wish the game was also good instead of being... Well the mess that it is. But I mean hell even totk/botw had comparatively shit stories in otherwise incredible games, this is just the inverse of that.
This dlc though is just fucking weak and only feels like it was made to introduce a mid character and give him an arc that ultimately undermined the biggest mystery of the entire game. I was hoping more than anything to see what sort of monster was capable of twisting the professors into building the paradise protection protocol, and I still have yet to see that cause it sure as hell wasn't this little baby turtle that just wanted to come up and say hi. It's actually WEAKENED the story of the base game because of it... Like THIS is really what we were supposed to be building to? I can only imagine that the story got rushed, it's the only explanation on how the base games story could be as good as it was, and this dlc just failed to deliver on any of it.
Which for the record, I didn't buy the dlc and I'm not going to now. Teal mask made the game run even worse unsurprisingly and this is just too disappointing for me to have to deal with that, it's already nauseating enough to play without the dlc

Not necessarily, Terapagos destroyed the ball before it could be put back in it. Shouldn't be too hard for some other legends, but a lot of the background context we've gotten regarding pokeballs from past games also implies that its not 100% that humans can just throw pokeballs and bind pokemon's will entirely. Even in legends arceus there are implications that pokemon's choices and wills do in some form play a part in them being captured and what not. This is probably why one of pokemon's long-running themes is "bonds with pokemon"
But yeah, Terapagos is crazy powerful
