- Hi! As the game is finally officially available, I've decided to share my own experience from the game from beginning to end.
I did absolutely everything from the game and I also recorded all the stuff.
Despite the game being officially available, it's best not to go on the internet if you don't want to get spoiled.
I hope you appreciate my videos content, not an easy task to do but I'm here now.

Kieran ditched the Poliwag that he evolved into Poliwrath because he saw Politoed was better. That's just cold.

Oh dang how didn't I notice before, Harsh.
I think he ditched all of his team members excluding his dipplin who he evolved into Hydrapple (assuming he did this by beating Drayton who has the tm needed to evolve him).
poligoat fits him more glad they did it.. Should have kept the gliscor for his creepy smile that he does during this dlc.
Everything was more competitively viable on his team. Really shows how tryhard he's become. He realized Politoed is way more effective than Poliwrath (rain setter with helping hand).

His Incineroar and Grimmsnarl were pretty easy but everything else was tough especially his Porygon-Z
@@wills3210 this comment is so hilarious because in VGC is completely the other way around lmao. Grimmsnarl and Incineroar are top tier support mons that can work in every team and with an even more improved AI that switches and all this could have been a really tough fight.

Really pleased with the fight toughness in this dlc. Had my jaw drop when they were using actual competitive movesets and items.

I agree, I was actually struggling with the BB Elite Four battles and this one. First time I’ve had so many Pokemon faint, in every single battle, since Cynthia. I always got it on the first try though, so still not as bad as her but I liked the difficulty.
It's amazing how his opening is a stab 100% accuracy hurricane to destroy Ogerpon with a Dragonite that resists 3/4 forms and has multiscale for the rock type one
I'm not absolutely sure, but I think that they made the AI to always attack Ogerpon if she is on the field.

Kieran’s fights bring out such a unique set of emotions. The first few times I battled him, I didn’t feel much, maybe a bit confident? Bc of how much he admires the player. When we fought for who got to keep Ogerpon, I felt almost guilty(?) on the one hand, you know you’re meant to win, but on the other, it’s bittersweet, bc it’s easy to empathize with Kieran’s desire to be with Ogerpon. And in his Champion battle, after seeing him push himself to be stronger out of jealousy and to beat the player, it gave the feeling of, “I wish we could settle this another way, but if you ask for it, I’m not gonna hold back”
Such a uniquely written character. Gotta love complexity in Pokemon
We really just destroyed this man's sanity, Captured the thing he wanted most, and made him go through a villain arc. And when he became champion of his school, we pulled up to his crib just to run his pockets and take his title and reputation

No way man. Kieran is the villain of the Indigo Disc. He's a dick to his friends, he's a dick to other club members, he's a dick to his sister, and he tried to force a Pokémon to go with him instead of who the Pokémon had an interest in (the same way a child would steal a puppy bc they "wanted it more" than someone else). Not achieving your dream isn't a justification either. Kid needed to be taken down a few pegs.

Honestly, had it not been for Terapagos turning on him, Kieran probably would’ve gone full villain.
Carmine, Amarys, and Drayton had hoped us beating him would snap Kieran back to his sense, but once they saw how despondent Kieran was after we beat him, it looks like they even underestimated how far Kieran had gone.
It's great Kieran has a special dialogue when he sees ogerpon

Well now I wonder if the two have any special dialogue for you using any of the Lousy Three against them.
I doubt it but the question only came to my mind after I beat Kieran.
I only used Ogerpon because she’s powerful and worked well with my team.
You can imagine the shock I got.
Okay nah! This is definitely the Scariest Champion yet. The guitar parts in the music gave me goosebumps. That music is the definition of you are F___ED! I’m not even kidding. 1000/10
I couldn’t agree more. I was genuinely impressed Kieran managed to KO some of my team members. My child has grown up! Mind you, my Pokémon were Hyper Trained to the max… which makes it more impressive.

Okay ... Kieran used an Incineroar and a Grimmsnarl in doubles format.
He is definitely the strongest rival and Champion now.

My Darkrai and Kingambit had a fun time. Obviously as champion I'm obliged to use the occasional potion, but compared to some of the E4, I found Kingambit especially had very little trouble. When Kieran sent in the Incineroar for instance, I couldnt help but laugh, DEFIANT all the way.
@@baronsionis6855 I mean, you also get a Milotic from Crystal Pond, one of Incineroar's most common check (thanks to competitive) so you can just set up agility and sweep through most of Kieran's team, especially because he doesn't fare too good against water types.
It's not about still being able to run counters through the AI teams, I posted this comment to praise about how GF went through all the way to establish that Kieran actually ‘studied’ and ‘practiced’ for the rematch.
I also really appreciate the Porygon-Z which benefits further from screens of Grimmsnarl and Helping Hand of Politoed but I think Smeargle would be a fantastic addition too.
The way Kieran doesn’t even flinch from the Tera orb is wild, every other trainer has at least some kind of reaction and yet Kieran just pulls it out and pulls a -_- as he waits for the cutscene to finish lol
He's so done with the bullcrap, and it shows.

Ehhhh not really I mean the part where Kieran almost got killed by Terapagos and him having to help battle against it was the thing that actually made him overcome the whole battle craze thing, to be honest I think Drayton made it worse considering Kieran was still going on about winning against the player.
@@supersonic2175 well it worked for a second (Drayton's words that made him realise its not all about winning) but then as soon as it registered in his head that by getting Terapogos, he can beat anyone

I legit thought all his Pokemon were gonna be over level 90 after seeing how strong he got last time. Did anyone else think so too? Cause his strongest one was a level 76 Gliscor at the time.
@@SabeNo-rh7mb I was hoping too but realized that DLC 1 is actually supposed to be played during the main game (chronologically speaking) so you should be aroung lvl70~75 when starting DLC2.
I was so excited for the DLC just for Kieran, and my god they didn’t disappoint me.
I made sure to plug my headphones in to listen to his theme (I usually play silent), and I was in awe with this song. It got me so hyped, might be one of my new fav tracks now from all of the Pokémon OSTs.
Although I kinda swept his team (as I did with the rest of the Elite Four), I loved seeing his strategies and seeing how viable they were.
I really hope we get more great teams in the future! Battling was so damn fun in this DLC compared to the last one… where everyone was rocking baby Pokémon lmao
I just realized something Kieran used Poliwrath in the Teal Mask now he uses a Politoed here in the Indigo Disk he actually used Poliwhirl's split evolution
this has got to be the hardest fight i ever fought in pokemon. had a full team of lvl 100 and just barely scraped by with my Kinggambit and hydrapple. Genuinely terrifying team + terrifying theme = best rival/champion fight, ever.
My team is just level 80s rn, I’m screwed
@@EmpTheClown don’t get me wrong, it is possible to beat him. But he is not someone who you can just power through like most Pokémon battles. Or just bring perish song lapras, lol.
@@ZeroTheOtter I’m thinking of teaching my quaquaval ice spinner to deal with his dragonite, and close combat can take care of in incineroar and porygon-Z, I can use Ogerpon to take down politoed, My charizard to deal with hydrapple, and I’m not sure about Grimmsnarl

This makes you realise how strong Nemona actually is, considering Kieran says he stood no chance against her in the Pecharunt quest

Same, I had to use my regular team to beat him, and it was a close match.
I used a team with my old Pokémon from previous game files and it was BRUTAL!
My team comprised of Zoroark, Toxtricity, Urshifu (rapid strike) Koraidon, Ogerpon, and Milotic.
I used a Sun team to counter his rain set up (featuring the special Charizard I raised that was originally from the mobile version of Home). It was still nerve wrecking because his team really is full of VGC Pokémon.
You know a champion fight is hard, when even Wolfey trying to use a perish song cheese strat nearly lost because Kieran won the favor of RNGsus with two hurricane confuse hax and took out half the man's team...while also giving the man PTSD the moment he saw wrestle heel cat.
My heart sank for Crispin. Poor bloke got booted out of the Savannah plaza 😢
Actually, he's still in the league. Post game explains it.
I never would go like Kieran being refuse to accept defeat after the Pokémon Battle.
I regret about that how he's made first time on refuse to accept defeat like other Pokémon Champions always accept defeat.

Though I feel Indigo Disk missed _so_ many opportunities in general to really take Us through Kierans villain arc, they got the major points right. The infinite Flying. And the Infinite Champion. 😅😊

I found it funny how Kieran is the exact opposite of nemona
even their hair color are inverted despite basically having the same hairstyle - nemona having mostly black hair and a color stream of hair on the side while kieran having (outwardly) purple hair and a black stream of hair on the side.
So Kieran despises battling?
i have a funky theory that kieran's character development was nemona's scratched one, i like that there are still some parallels between the two
Kieran after losing to Nemona:
@@vankristlabsTheir mindsets are flipped. While they're both obsessed with battling and fixated on the protagonist, Nemona wants a challenge, and is satisfied even when she loses. Kieran wants to crush you, and repeated losses are devastating to him.
Also Nemona started a new team for you, and is consistent with it, Goomy and Pawmi fully evolve for example.
Meanwhile Kieran frequently switches his team, Dipplin is the only one to stick around between dlcs.
I ain’t gonna lie, Kieran was the first champion in all my Pokémon experience to have me Hypertrain, Lv up and carefully pick out my team. No other champion worried me as much as he did (aside from Cynthia)
He doubled up on Ogerpon. Zero hesitation.
Great that he didn’t decide to murder us after losing all of his sanity in part 1

Notice was Crispin is the most excited for the battle. He knows that if Kieran loses, he will stop being part of the Elite Four
it was more like he was too dense to see what was really going on between the player and Kieran which is why lacey chewed him out after the battle hell he didn't even think he'd be kicked out until Lacey said something

Made this battle actually pretty tough, I must say I wasn’t ready for the Drizzle-Thunder combo
Yup I forgot thunder always hits in the rain. Unfortunately my lightning rod user fainted so it took out my Empoleon with a crit.
I wish every champion battle or elite four battles are in doubles from now on because this is really a breath of fresh air like this whole DLC I have to think about my team composition and not just brute force my way into the story… especially Drayton’s team like it was the first time in pokemon history that I have to reset a pokemon battle lmao fawk that dragonite
4:26 As good as Marvel Scale and Flame Orb is, if it had competitive, we might be seeing the classic Incineroar Vs Milotic VGC battle. Regardless, that Milo definitely put great work.

Whenever I battle Kieran I’m like: “Face it kid, you can’t beat me no matter how hard you try. Give up.”
Honestly I don’t know if anyone noticed but usually when the characters are about to terastallise their Pokémon they usually flinch or something or like wince but Kieran just had a STONE COLD LOOK no reaction probably the most terrifying bit of the battle for me.
And... he has gone more insane, welp
Glad Kieran started to defend himself against his sister's endless teasing and no longer wants to be a doormat. I wish this game had spoken lines so it would give this battle raw feelings of a kid who is tired of being seen as a doormat.

Still cant believe this dlc made me build an actual team and use my raid mons. Usually I just throw in some random mons I caught in the area and one or two high leveled ones so I was caught off guard by how tough the battles with the E4 were.
He's the first character to get 3 themes for himself ? Right ?

He kinda has 4 actually, since he was the one commanding Terapagos in the first phase.

Ladies and gentlemen...The hardest and highest leveled MANDITORY story battle of any Pokémon game...PERIOD!
I had the pleasure going though this battle and it was insane.
Yes the Volo battle going though 8 Pokemon without any breaks in Legends Arceus was hard but it doesn't come even close to a battle that has:
1. An NPC with competitive AI
2. Levels in the early 80s
...and 3. IT'S A GODDAMN DOUBLE BATTLE!
And to me, this is my #1 Pokemon battle of all time just for the bullet points mentioned alone.
The way he opened with that Politoad and Dragonite into the Hurricane with Rain was damn cold
Yes, I've heard that there is an even higher leveled mandatory trainer battle in the DLC's epilogue...Still a cakewalk compared to this madness.

What was going through Lacey’s head asking Kieran for literally anything? Bros having a full on breakdown 💀😭
Never in my life would i have thought that one day i would actually be afraid of a rival!! Let alone one who was a champion!! And After the ending of the Teal mask dlc, i was down right terrified of him.
When i got to this fight, my pokemon were level 100, and had some stat boosts. Kieran took out FOUR of my Pokemon, no other rival or champion (except for Cynthia) has ever backed me in a corner like that.
I had every right to be terrified!! 😬

I hate to admit it, but I lost this battle the first time because I was using a fairly leveled team and no healing items. Literally, no special dialogue happened whatsoever.
Edit: I didn't know how to ev train either back then lol

@@TwilightChomperEnthusiast I mean... While I get your point, battles having different dialogue depending on specific factors is not exactly super common in gaming as a whole.
@@Yoshyguy21 Yeah, but with Pokémon as big as it is, it shouldn’t be unreasonable to at least semi-hope for there to be a few extra pieces of dialogue for when you lose such an important battle. It just feels a little shallow to reset to your last checkpoint as pretend it never happened.
Props to him getting 3 knockouts vs a team 10-20 levels higher than his.

I did a battle with Pokémon around Level 80-85. I really had a hard time with the Elite Four and Kieran, the combination of the hold items and moves like Light Screen, Reflect or Stealth Rock made it very hard for me, Kieran even one or two shotted my whole team at my first attempt
I know I may have came off as rude when you all sent her out, but … I'm glad you kept your promise in taking care of Ogerpon. She looks so happy..

I love the elite 4 Drayton who act cool, nice and smug with Kieran after his loss.
politoad has synergy since he has a special dragonite with hurricane although if it got swapped for palafin or anything It would be a little better

I like to imagine that Kieran went through every region and defeated every single Elite Four member and Champion on his way to the player in the time between Teal Mask and Indigo Disk
That would take far too long.
I know level wise he’s stronger than Cynthia slightly, but who did you guys find tougher out of both of them.
Cynthia's rematch in the remake was harder, but Kieran is definitely up there for debate. He's hands down the strongest rival and antagonist we've seen in Pokemon history, though.

battling cynthia was horrible i never struggled before and kieran was such a piece of cake

Arthur Morgan: Not bad, Kieran: certainly not an O'Driscoll anymore
Clodsire, Tinkaton, Kilowattrel, Quaquaval, Weavile and Ceruludge was my team. I EV trained them but not good IVS and use mints to boost their stats. It was a fun DLC. Only Lacey made me suffer
Personally, both the elite 4 and Kieran were very tough but decently beatable. The only one I lost against was Drayton but only because of very bad RNG.
I got quaquaval and Ceruledge, gonna need to teach my quaquaval ice spinner for that dragonite

I’m surprised Kieran was not even a match for Nemona, and he wasn’t a weakling towards the end of the DLC by any means, Nemona is really on a whole another level of strength and skill, in fact I could even imagine that Nemona would really give Cynthia or Red a challenging battle

Both me and kiki had two pokémon left and my two was my galar starter intelion which is max level as well as my max level charaziard that I got in a suprise trade as a level 1 charmander but has been with me in the very beginning of pokemon sword when I played it for the first time. His battle theme here is freakin sick, I wish he was harder for me to beat though, I found him easier than the Elite 4, I was struggling so much with the others but him
I decided that, no matter how bad things were, I was not going to heal nor revive any Pokémon in my team.
If my son wanted to bring everything he has into me, I would respond the same way.

Fought him with brute force in my first attempt and was just about to beat him until I was down to my last Pokémon while he still had two. Tried again changed my moves sets a bit, actually had to play with competitive predictions and switching to actually beat him, overall really great to see they actually made him a tough fight 😊
