I watch that episode a lot and I cry every single time. I cry when I listen to the song on TH-cam. I cry when I hear someone’s name be Quentin. I cry when I see broken mirrors. I cry when I see sparks fly. I cry when I see people magically destruct. I just-I’m a mess. For real tho.
I've been avoiding catching up because I heard about the finale dumpster fire and I didn't want to know about it because I'm still living in the time of Quentin/Elliot canon and I plan on staying here forever until I die.
yeah lol they completely undid the queliot storyline that they had been building all season (and that they had been praised for) in favour of shoving q and alice back together for no reason. Then they kill him and he becomes another victim to the "bury your gays" trope. Not to mention the writers congratulating themselves for how woke they are by killing the "safe" white male lead. It's not progressive or woke to kill him when he's also bi and mentally ill; two groups that are underrepresented in media. Also, the way he died i felt was very disrespectful and irresponsible. To have your known depressed and suicidal character die in a self-sacrifice and become a martyr? Seriously? Q even asks if he really wanted to saved his friends or just "finally found a way to kill myself". Framing his death (which literally was a suicide) as a good and heroic act, and having q see how much his friends all loved him after he died is really irresponsible of the writers as it just serves to reinforce dangerous ideals about suicide. Sorry for the rant lol I'm just very pissed off at the writers and think they ruined a really great show

I don't know much about this show but I'm here to support the idea of the magicians taking place in the same universe as harry potter and wizards of waverly place
Wizards of waverly place is PG. Harry Potter is PG13. And The Magicians is rated R. Lots of sex, alcohol, drugs, murder and gore, cursing and mature topics like sexual assault and suicide. Some episodes and scenes are triggering enough that the producers had to put the Rape crisis line and suicide prevention line at the end of the episode. It's also dark BUT comedic at the same time. LOTS of comic relief intertwined with dark themes and lots of pop culture references for people to geek out on. It's hilarious to me and it's my favorite show of ALL TIME.
I'm glad I'm not then only one who came back to this video after the finale. I cried my eyes so bad and I keep watching that scene and crying all over again. Elliot and Quentin didn't even have reunion that was very heartbreaking so quentin doesn't know that elliot actually wanted to hear with him. The ending with the singing around the campfire and burning quentin's things was beautiful and eliot burning the fruit made me cry even more. Excuse me while I go watch seasons. 1-3 again
I'm watching all the seasons because I love the show honestly the show won't be the same with out q but I want to where it goes in season 5 and hopefully 6. I also want to see where they started hinting q and Elliot
And I swore someone started cutting a ton of onions because my eyes were watery as hell and at one point I couldn't see the TV because I cried so much. Honestly they did his death both right in some cases and and wrong in others. Like I'm sad he didn't get to see Elliot and do everything he could. But I think they did how he died right doing something to not only save his friends but the whole realm of magic. I also think the his whole conversation with Penny 40 is but amazing and bitter. And the song part just made me cry also sorry for ranting I just saw your comment and felt similar to it.

That's why he hasn't passed through the gate that leads to the real after life (aka death). Q did pass through that gate.
