  • We've been exploring the various permutations of the 2 5 1 chord progression. I show you some examples of how to slip this progression into some simple songs, and I point where this progression shows up in a couple of famous songs.

I have just found your channel and like the simple explanations, however, I get lost as a beginner as I don't know what notes the chords are composed of which makes progressions difficult to understand. If you haven't done so, would you be able to suggest to a beginner like me, on which chords/progressions to learn first or is this a mammoth undertaking?

My "Music Basics" playlist can help you learn what notes are contained within the basic chords. I also have some older videos where I talk about basic chord progressions, and how to play basic chord progressions in different keys.

Thank you for your kind words. Highlighted keys would be helpful, I hope to add that feature in the future, especially as we begin to explore more complex chords.

There is certainly hope for you! I applaud you for your desire to continue learning at 68 years young! I'll be turning 66 this month (May), and I want to continue learning too. Then I can share what I learn here!
