- Greetings, Historians. Sorry for the second upload, but as it was pointed out by those who viewed this, the video had issues pertaining to the audio and as such, I removed the video and fixed what issues there were, sorry again if this was an inconvenience.
Today's topic will be finishing up Cynder's story in all lore as of the current date of this video, with a little theory put at the end as to how I think she could appear if she was to ever come back.

I prefer the Legend Cynder because of her personality and story. Personally I never liked the Cynder in the Skylanders games, her modal looked off compared too other's. It's good that they changed her modal in Skylanders Academy, it looks much more better.
I actually like Cynder with out the binders because l see it as a symbol of her freedom. Maybe they should change the look of binders when she's freed or changed for the better.
All that a side, thanks for covering the lore of one of my most favourite character's and I do hope that she will come in future Spyro games, better than ever.

Yeah, there are reasons why the Skylanders versions of Spyro and Cynder are so divisive. They have very little connection to their Legend counterparts, their models are... questionable, and due to the focus of the games being around the Portal Master (plus a random team of Skylanders), the two dragons don't really have their own subplots. Sure, the lore involving Malefor is there, but it's just a few paragraphs on the Skylanders wiki.
Skylanders Academy slightly improved this by giving its version of Spyro and Cynder personalities and small character arcs, but it's nothing compared the the Legend continuity.
Especially DeviantArt username Rockyrolley. He said Skylanders Spyro actually canon Legend Spyro. I saw that deviant comment said. I think it's 4 years ago DeviantArt comment, if I remember.
They both get there own comics and this is a new ip. This is not Spyros franchise.

Cynder is one of my favorite characters, but I think I prefer her Legends version over Skylanders. Something about Malefor being her dad is really... creepy to me.
I know that most think Cynder was born a Wind dragon, but I personally think she was born a Shadow dragon. It's the first element most commonly used by her and is the one they kept in Skylander with her Shadow Dash. It's like how Fire is Spyro's "Main" element.
As for her being in a new Spyro game, I think having her as a rival for Spyro would be a good way of introducing her. She could be the "hero" of a new realm, but in actuality is being manipulated by the big bad (be it Red, the Sorcerer, Malefor, etc.). She's not evil, but is more like Knuckles in Sonic 3, so that the more she interacts with Spyro, the more she realizes that he's actually right in wanting to stop the big bad.
Thank you, and ye it is kinda strange to see her as his daughter isn’t it? Just something about their previous incarnations throws that kind of relationship off a little. Now for elements, part of the reason why I say wind is that with her build in TLoS and that being the only natural element in her arsenal, it seems her character leans more toward being a wind dragon rather than anything else in my opinion. For most of her elements, mainly shadow, fear, poison and Aether, each one were derived from Malefor and her corruption via Dark Aether. But, this isn’t to say that shadow dragons didn’t exist before, as from what I’ve read, dragons with what are considered unnatural elements (i.e shadow, poison, fear) existed but where rather rare when compared to the number of those born with natural elements (this is head canon but as I said in the previous part, it’s kinda the only thing we can go off of when it comes to the vague parts of Legends.)
Wouldn't Cynder's main element be poison, compared to Spyro's being fire. Because the order the Chronicler says Cynder's elements is poison, fear, wind and shadow, and Spyro fire, electricity, ice and earth. Idk, that's my argument, I do get what you mean about Cynder being a shadow dragon, given her past as well as her future in Skylands.
Well that could be a possibility, then again, nothing about what type of dragon she is other than a "Black Dragon" is ever stated, so whatever type she is might be up for debate? It's just that a good bit kind of points to Cynder being a shadow dragon after she was corrupted so that's why I lean toward that idea personally
@@loreofthedragonIf you ask me, I'd say that the producers of Skylanders Academy messed up, BIG TIME. I wasn't happy with how Spyro acted out of character by taking a picture of his @$$ for Flashwing and copying Crash Bandicoot. But, Cynder being Malefor’s daughter makes her have guilty blood. With all due respect.
There are people who wished Skylanders Academy was being continued. Some of us would have liked to Skylander Academy her and Spyro be a thing.
It would have likely been the case once they’d go to beat malefor for good. And during that quest they’d realise they have feelings for each other.
@Alastordadeer yeah. I even wrote a script for how I'd continue it and given Spyro's parents their names. Also, I would bring back Cy the Skylander Imaginator with the Banana head.

I'm curious, which version of Cynder do you prefer, and what do you see as being her natural element? If she were implemented into the new continuity, should she have wind or lightning breath abilities?
Well first thanks for letting me know of the issues with the video, though I should've caught them as I was editing so eh... as for my opinion on what elements she should have and what her natural element should be?
Her primary element in my opinion is up for debate... as tbh from what I've seen, Cynder might've turned out different if given a normal life in Skylanders, she might've been undead without Cynder, kinda the main problem I have with Skylanders, not much backstory to what she could've been unlike Legends (part headcanon but eh), that's why I said that she was imbued with the undead element, it's mainly my best guess as to what happened.
Despite this, I think she should have wind as a starter element if I had to choose between that and lightning. Given her design, at least to me is something build for flying and more maneuverability in the air, when it comes to Legends anyway... though shadow being a primary element would be kinda neat to see, maybe she could come from a part of the Dragon Realms shrouded in darkness or where a corruption spread, and thus infested eggs from the previous Year of the Dragon? Maybe giving those eggs that hatched unnatural elements?
Though to add on to that last sentence, I would want to see if they're is something similar to Dark Aether in TLoS, so that we have a possibility of unnatural elements being used in the new continuity, (though by technicality I guess you could say that Ripto and the Sorceress use a similar form of magic, though it's more using normal magic and not necessarily corrupting it.) Mainly would want this as an in universe explanation for her element if it was shadow but eh.
Also, I'm more a fan of Legends Cynder personally, mainly for the whole story of the character herself.
Btw sorry for the essay of a response, just a bit I can go into with this topic.
I like both Legends Cynder and Skylanders Cynder because her story is more or less the same, at least in regards to the major plot beats and of the whole reincarnation and souls being tied bit most of what goes on in Legends still applies to her in Skylanders.

Like I said, you made a great work with all the narration through the games' events and the show along the differences among both entries.
It has been interesting to look at Cynder's interpretations and how some things are similar and others stays the same.
Honestly when I saw Malefor as her father was so wild, like a fan theory that actually became canon in the Academy version.
Also, again glad that included the jewerly part from her Legend counterpart and how that symbolizes her character.
And yeah Cynder's character has been represented by choice, how her life has been put into make her choice for herself, along how that affected the story.
Also, the ideas to include Cynder in a new game are running now, lots of fans want her again in the series and they wanna see her with a role too, she really let an impact in the fandom.
And your idea is very cool! Pretty well developed and planned.

I prefer Cynder in the Legend trilogy, because her story, voice actor, specifically in Dawn of the Dragon, and personality. I don't have a problem with Cynder in Skylanders, although I do prefer her design in the Legend series, however her voice until Imaginators was bad. Erica although still not that good actually felt like she tried. Academy Cynder is my second favorite incarnation, because of her personality and her voice. She has imo a better character design, which fitted her personality and the tone of Skylanders Academy well. Her voice and personality made me instantly fall in love with her character and she was one of the saving graces to what was an otherwise average series. Sadly she got underutilized and the series got canceled, which made me both sad and dissapointed. No matter her incarnation, I will always love the purple dragoness and will wait for her return.

Can you judging designed Academy Cynder be more describe? Like she's more like A winged serpent but it's better remove her behind legs and her left parts is her front legs. Like almost wanna like Wyvern but opposite direction. Like analogy. For others you mentioned likeable Cynder's voices, I almost never bother voice actress since I don't feel need talk her voice performances or quality of her tone. What about Spyro 4? Rather than just 2 dragons, there can be 4 playable dragons. Spyro as the leader, alongside Cynder as well as Flame, and of course, even Ember, too! We could either play one at a time. Or simultaneous co-op together in one group like controlling 3 characters in Sonic Heroes featuring Teams Sonic, Dark, Rose, and Chaotix. What do you think? Do you like this idea? Or do you want something different?

I can see you really put very much effort into every video you made, you surely have a high Knowledge in the Spyro series, that's why I actually have a request, could you do a video about Red?
There's no need to hurry though, I know that some people have done requests before me, so...I suppose that you could put the Video (if you want to do it) at the bottom of the list, I will have patience for that.
Also, I have a question about Red, maybe it's not something important for the series's Storyline, but I always wanted to know, even if it's just a Speculation.
In "Spyro: Shadow Legacy", after Red got freed by Spyro, he said that he wanted to "Atone for his Sins", in the Ending it's said that he started teaching the Young Dragons the ways of magic and that every elder forgave him, every elder except Titan, despite being his best friend, this, combined with the fact that he seemed Brainwashed for a very long period of time (I speculate about 30 Years, considering that he was Brainwashed even before the first "Spyro the Dragon" game took place) , probably made him Traumatized and Depressed, since he is not living anymore like he was before, even though it wasn't his fault at all, I believe that he could give up on his Life at any moment, after all, many would be still against him for what he did, including his best friend Titan.
That was my Point Of View though.
My question is, do you think is he really Traumatized and/or Depressed, or did he accept this fate that happened to him, or maybe, even other choices that I just didn't thought of before?
Just as a Side Note, I tried to see if Red could have, with some Speculations and/or Thoughts, a similar Ending to Cynder, considering Cynder had the same Brainwashing issue as Red did, but it does not seem to work.
I love Red as much as I love Spyro, that's why I'm desperately hoping that he would get a Good Ending in one of the future Spyro games, but I wonder if He will even make an appearence in one of them as a Good Charachter.

Now the thing with Red, definitely he would have some form of grief, but in my opinion, everyone generally accepting him back and the threat of the Sorcerer's return would probably overrule any drastic action. Now this isn't to say that he wouldn't feel grief over his actions or some sort of remorse, but given what the Sorcerer said before he disappeared and the power he displayed, Red more than likely would just keep focusing on preparing his kind to fight against him once again.

Yeah there are Skylanders comics, in this video though I’ve got both a novel and a comic displayed. The novel is part of the Mask of Power series and the comic is part of the Return of the Undead Dragon King series. The novel is from sometime during or after 2013 and the comic is from 2015
