Huh, you know that theory about the Arkeyans and Portal Masters being related is an interesting theory. I don't know if it's true but it's really cool to speculate on!
The Arkeyans are just like the Dwemer from the Elder Scrolls. They both experimented with crazy stuff and they suffered for it.
You might not know this but the writer of the books was a literal caterpillar/worm so the guy might not have all the knowledge of that time period so he might’ve replaced the arkeyans with the skylanders without knowing a thing during the writing of those books or he hates the arkeyan’s guts so he didn’t put them in his books not sure
It’s nice to have a video like this. The Arkeyans have so much interesting lore, but you don’t usually see people exploring it online.
I had always assumed that Chop Chop was just a dead Arkeyan soldier, didn't know anything about him being a robot

@Slicetheidiot also may be portal masters have some sort of magical DNA so if one of the parents of a baby is a portal masters then there is a chance that the child could be a portal master as well, also that story scroll neither confirm nor deny this line of thought could happen.

Love this analysis. I’d never think of arkeyans being portal masters but honestly I really see ur points.
I think that Splat being there is an error OR they're just using her as shorthand to display the Skylanders of the time. OR, because we appear to quite literally become part of the book and fight the same battles as before, we become the Skylanders of old alongside our teammates. Like going into a movie and becoming part of the cast until you exit the movie.
Something I notice is that people assume that “hyper intelligent robots” can’t make mistake or don’t have culture. We need to think about how these things are sentient and probably similar to use
You are one of the reasons why Skylanders is still alive, and I think some of your theories in this video may actually be true. I think the “Machine of Doom” is the good Arkeyan war machine in Giants, Ermit and the machine ghost helped the Skylander take down Robo Kaos so the evil Arkeyan’s wouldn’t conquer Skylands like they did 10,000 years ago. The good Arkeyan was probably called the “Machine of Doom” because someone knew that he would be the undoing of the Arkeyan’s and their conquest.

Love the idea of the Arkeyans having a "Die a hero, or live long enough to become the villain" streak. Them being utterly horrified of an eldritch terror to the point of seeing realm enslavement and total militarization, as preferable alternatives to succumbing to the Darkness, feels like it'd be a Lovecraft-like story.

7:48 this little section reminded me about my own theory about the Arkeyans in terms of the style:
Since Skylands is so massive, I believe that the Arkeyans adapted to their surroundings in order to survive and gather resources efficiently. Each games Arkeyans are very unique overall, with Swap Force having the most unique designs/models. So for all the areas we DON'T see Arkeyans in there could be a variety of them. Just a silly theory lol
weirdly the vicarious visions games (swap force and superchargers) are actually confirmed to be non canon, despite them trying so desperately to fit into the toys for bob story

Theory for who the skylanders were: it claims there were skylanders in the war against the darkness, while these cant be the giants they could be the elder elemental. I know they are most likely the giants but its a possibility. Furthermore characters like Ninjini Crusher and Bouncer would have existed at this time and with no reason to have aggression against the Arkeyans it would make sense they would aid in fighting the Darkness.

I may or may not have an explanation for skylanders existing before the giants. Eon at one point in time (I think through story scroll) says that the portal of power can sent skylanders through space and time, it could mean that some kind of portal master (maybe even Eon himself) helped with the war by sending some skylanders there
This is certainly gonna help me with writing some of my lore.

I’m almost certain that the Darkness Books refer to a second coming of the Darkness from later in the timeline. At first, it was brought into Skylands via the Dark Rift Engine and fought back by the Ancients and Arkeyans. And then later on, the Giants took down the Arkeyans, leaving the Portal Masters and Skylanders to deal with the Darkness later on when the Spell Punks repowered it.
As for them being Portal Masters…maybe. We know that being one is almost random, that ‘you’re either born one or you’re not’, instead of being a specific species. Even Wizbit was a Mabu Portal Master. Though the Arkeyans could have been like the Kaos Klan, just a specific line of Portal Masters from a tribe.
Overall, cool video, I enjoyed watching this.

Speaking of corrupting things in skylands remember those crystal’s used to power the evilizers and the evilized fire? (No idea how evilized fire is created honestly to be honest…)
It’s very likely that these could’ve been created via leftover essence from the darkness as like you said in the lore it can corrupt beings.
And in swap force we actually see creatures like various enemies being corrupted in game.
Since it takes time with stronger beings like the four magic guardians (I think that’s what they’re called) means it’s likely far weaker since it’s only a small fraction of the darknesses power.

Nice, I didn't expect to make another Skylander video cameo, so this is kewl.
There may have been extra tidbits of info, but I can't find my S:SA annual, so I can't check it currently. Kinda sucks, but oh well.
Anyways, I really liked the video, and the human part was cool too.
As for the Superchargers stuff, it's most likely a time travel situation with Dive Clops, Splat, and High Volt. Similar to the Mask of Power arc, and the Time of the Giants level.
I can't wait to see more.
Fun fact, Hood Sickle uses a material known as Dark Remnant to fight in Imaginators, as a substitute for spirits... this is interesting, as Dark Remnant is a prominent piece in the FNaF franchise, with even one of the characters, RWQFSFASXC, being made from Dark Remnant.
The fact that they're pretty much identical, and Imaginators coined the term 1 - 2 years before it was in the FNaF series was wild.
There's also the Arkeyans having faceplates that open up, and them essentially being possessed robots... It's all kinda too coincidental... or is it?

So idk if I'm remembering this correctly but isn't Dive Clops and Eye Brawl brothers in the books? Would it make sense to have Dive Clops and Eye Brawl exist in the same Era? Like Eye Brawl got sent back cause of the gauntlet and Dive Clops because of the whirlpool? That last bit is part of his back story apparently?

Yea the arkeyans could open up their faces, as shown wnen Kaos gets inside and Pilots the Conquertron in the cutscenes of Giants. Also supported by the Glacier Gully level also in Giants with the machine ghost. (I swear Noodles is one of my favorite antagonists in the franchise. Thank you for existing Noodles.)

I like your videos very detailed and you have a very good passion for the series I myself love and adore the arkeyans.
The Arkeyans have to be my favorite piece of lore in Skylanders. They keep popping up throughout the games, creating the vague outline of a timeline and culture, and giving us the chance to theorize about what all of it could mean!
It'd be great if the other species in skylands could get the same lore treatment.
I pretty much had the exact same theories, but that one about the arkeyans being portal masters is wild
7:37 the arkeyeans in swap force might actually be greebles in armor. In beta footage the greeble wore the armor and used arkeayen tech in concept art. Idk how a greeble is fitting in a rip rotor though

I think the reason for the spell punk thing 8s that the spell punks worship the darkness, like several of the more evil creatures in skylands, they even look like cult members in design, if I had to guess, they worship the darkness, thus taking pride in their involvement.
If that doesn't suit your fancy, its important to remember the books weren't written by a spell punk, they were just collected in the library, in addition, the library is abandoned, and we see the author's in-progress books, there is a very good chance the author left those books after he wrote them.

In the supercharger darkness books the best I could figure is that it is showing the skylanders still in the books after the level is finished also it could have been a way for vv to include some concept art because high volt is still in the light element in one of them
4:30, i would argue they had time traveled if anything. That would be my best guess, therefore the Giants are still the "first" and still have history with the Darkness. I also would say the lore wouldn't mention a few modern day Skylanders traveling back in time since their individual lore is mainly about how they became skylanders, not what feats they've achieved after eon found them. My biggest supporting evidence would be the events of the Mask of Power series and how the skylanders and kaos time traveled in that and how it ultimately made a loophole in the timeline. Ie. Kaos being the reason why the mask split into pieces in the first place causing a butterfly effect up until kaos travels back in time to collect the pieces then having it split up again causing the butterfly effect again in the future. Rinse and repeat. Another point i'd make albeit, not as important, but a detail i noticed is that whatever past a specific Skylander may have, never shows up or is mentioned in the games at all. Like example with say Boom Bloom and Dr Krankase in your last video. They can exist together in Imaginators like no drama ever happened. Although yes they are just skylanders in that game so nothing would happen true but still. They make the games in the scope that all Skylanders are in the spotlight. Not any particular one. So thereforeone of the books of darkness showing some skylanders helping out in the ancient war wouldn't count since it didn't name names and since it's in the events of the game. Not in a bio. Now if it were to say Spyro was born 1 billion years ago and was a skylander back then despite the Giants forming 10,000 years ago and being the "first", then yea there would be a huge problem.

Ps please be Fiesta for the next Skylander backstory video. He has a whole origin comic and it’s amazing. I think the weapon master being on the ruins was more a way of the Arkeyans protecting the core of light. As you said, they were terrified of it being destroyed so they set up the machine of doom to kill anyone who would try and destroy it, and stationed the Weapons Master on the ruins to keep everything in check.
My personal explanation for the spellpunk darkness book is that those guys were elder elementals who fought alongside the giants. Both are the first skylanders

to your theory that arkayans are portalmaster a have a argument and 2 counter argument,
1 portalmasters controls minions, to us it is akylanders to kaos and his mom it is dark minions, and arkeyans like to control things
2 chopchop is suposed to be an arkeyan and portalmaster can moove on earth my chopchop never mooved
3portalmastry isn't genetic, it is totally random who has it and who hasn't, (besides earth where everything is a portalmaster, even my cat is, he pushed a skylander and it fell on a portal while i was gaming, and the game said "too much skylanders on the portal")
That’s a very interesting theory about them being portal masters originally.
Here’s my thoughts:
Portal masters are basically just anyone in skylands who can activate a portal and in ancient skylands they were way more common. Also I believe people really misunderstand the story scroll because I take that as saying they literally started as just wizards that became robots. And since in skylands making sentient robots seems easy this is probably where the purely robot arkens come from
Also I like to compare them to the Romans in our world because they are both a ancient society that spread on conquest, but were taken out by local hero like people (like Attila). And yes I take “Giants are the first skylanders” to mean literally “they were first to make the title for themselves” which may have been copied by Eon

The first ‘skylanders’ were Arkus and the other leaders of the races of Skylands
This helps so much of more me writing lore in my on story based in Skylanders but Arkeyans are important part so this help with when some of the information is a bit iffy on how Canon they are.
If your theory about the Arkeyans is true, then if I’m to make a comparison they’re kind of similar to the Kree from the Marvel series. They both see themselves as heroes who are really evil. Maybe the Arkeyans sending them to the mines was a way of being merciful, much how like the Kree think themselves merciful when they kill people.

i belive that the arkeyans were created by the ancients to battle the darkness but he corrupted them and made them think that the only way to protect skylands was to conquer it in a tyranical rule. also the books in the spellpunk library i belive are meant to be set in newer times like 500 years before ssa cause the arkeyan empire was set 10 000 years ago

I was under the impression arkeyans are mostly undead cyborgs like Chop Chop. I also remember that there were some arkeyans in Giants who chose not to follow Kaos and they just wanted to play some skystones.

I wonder if after the war against the darkness and the fall of the arkeyans it was stated some kind of law for portal masters to follow, something like the rule of two from Starwars’s Sith Lords. Because the only portal masters that appear in game (correct me if I’m wrong) are Kaos, his mom, Eon and the player, that makes me think if there’s some kind of master and apprentice rule
