    Wolf is a very likable guy. You can tell he loves what he does and is a great representative for his company. You could listen to him talk his expertise all day and never be fatigued.
    I had to throw that pun in. 😅

    Very good speakers.. Magico made very neutral speakers. It's not for many people taste, but is one of the neutral and good speakers in the World. Thank you for make this reportage. BR

      Not neutral at all they simply lack transparency and detail. Worst speaker for the price bar none. B&W 801 sound spectacularly better for 1/10 the price which is still a ludicrous 50k plus.

    Wolf's very last statement talking about bass is spot-on! So hard to get right. These speakers are what dreams are made of. It is too bad that they are only affordable to criminally rich people.

    What is wrong with MDF ? MDF has much lower Q compared to aluminium that rings like a bell. If aluminium is superior then why do you go to great lengths to dampen it using constrained layer damping ?

    • @noamgellerdiy
      @noamgellerdiy 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Hmm. If you think about it ... Mdf is very soft compare to aluminum, it absorbs energy (vibration of cone). Those vibration rightful place are in the cone of course not in the cabinet.
      A perfect cabinet would be completely decoupled from the driver yet the driver would be in iron grip fixed in space- which is impossible unfortunately

    • @jozefserf2024
      @jozefserf2024 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      MDF is easy to use and cheap but its natural resonance slightly dampens midrange textures. The best cabinet is no cabinet - open baffle.

    • @michaelrovner4165
      @michaelrovner4165 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Mdf is horrible at 200hz to 400hz...aluminum is way stiffer

    • @Nightjar726
      @Nightjar726 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Nothing is wrong with it at all. Magico knows what they are doing btw. They have engineering and measurements to back it up.
      Of course price is for people who are wealthy. That’s just life.
      It doesn’t mean that a speaker made for $10k won’t sound amazing.
      Hope that makes sense

      Audio pros use more adjectives then any other form of human lol an aluminum speaker enclosure is the inevitable outcome of it all having been done or designed - pointless acoustically 🤷‍♂️🤪👍

  • @davidbee8178
    @davidbee8178 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    There is a "BUT" coming but to begin, nothing would give me more pleasure than to meet Alon Wolf to congratulate him on going all out on the state of the art in speaker design and to hear the M9 in person and to tell him that I have NO DIFFICULTY whatsoever understanding the price that is being asked for this modern work of industrial art . . . here comes the "BUT" : the ONE thing I would love to discuss with him is the choice he has made to assemble his speakers with literally HUNDREDS of fasteners. This, to me, seems to go against the basic KISS tenant of engineering . .. (Keep It Simple Silly :-) I DO understand the importance of a stiff enclosure but going WITH the KISS principle, Andy Payor builds his extraordinarily stiff and well dampened Rockport enclosures with only three pieces and melding them essentially into one piece with very high tech adhesives. That said, I do acknowledge the incredible achievements and success of the Magico brand, headed by a very creative being! (P.S. I do not have nor can afford ANY Rockport speaker OR Magico speaker for that matter :-)

      It will be no problem to hear the difference between these pricepoints. Many think there are small differences, but thats simply not true. But you have to have a listeningroom that match. In a 1000k system I would use 100k on the room.

      No this argument is correct, there is 1% - 5% that is actually looking for these speakers and open baffle. Sure these speakers sound good but what recording studio is mixing for these systems in mind ... 0% and why do professional studios not use these speakers... For accuracy. If you are trying to justify this price to anyone you better have some music other than jazz or soft music to play to the masses.

    If i had milions i would not buy that,i love speakers,but this is just stupid,like i said,as long there is sheep there will be wool,
    I mean you can do those boxes from carbon fiber or magnezium,or gold,but that is your problem,all in all of the end of the day,what matters is how much the people are ready to pay that.
    I wish you happiness to sell all of that,but reality is something else.
    Regardles to design,pure 10+.

      I can only attest to speakers up to the 10K range and there are worlds of difference between .5k to 1 to 5 to 10K. For the price though, 750K, they better sound like god whispering in my ear. Yes, there are diminishing returns but you haven't reached that point at 10K. I can only hope that whoever buys these has a bespoke environment to showcase them in.

    Stupid question: Why aren't high end speakers made of rebarred concrete concrete/cement, possibly with glass fiber filament?
    ... or even, say, cut out of stone of some sort?
    For 750.000 dollars you could surely make a similar sized speaker from a huge peace of marble or something similar.
    I'm not suggesting It's better, feasible or even possible.... I'm just curious.

    As a design engineer myself, it must be said that any fool can design a decent product where cost is no factor. The real Magic is in doing the same within a budget. Having said that, there will always be some buyer somewhere who will overpay anything, just to crow about it. Absurd. Not impressed at all.
