As it turns out, the Nintendo Switch's NES Classic Controllers have some hidden tricks! #Shorts FOLLOW ME: Twitter: / danomak TikTok: / danomak Website: danomak.com
Not really, because this "nes controllers" has only 2 buttons and joycons has 10 buttons, maybe a "SNES controller for switch" could work to play switch games without drift, so I hope we get a "SNES switch controller"
They don't have master system games on NSO expansion pack. They have genesis/mega drive games, for which they do have a controller for but its only wireless, you cant slide it onto the side. But the top is rounded so it wouldn't really work that way anyway
@@JaredConnell What if Nintendo and Mitsubishi make the Color TV-Game 15 and Racing 112 Switch/Focus Online controllers and steering wheel for the Color TV-Game Series on the Switch when they make the Color TV-Game Classic Edition series?
If you guys don't get it, those are not NES Classic controllers. They're clearly customized Joycons of some sort. NES classic controllers do, however, work for some Wii/Wii U games due to the type of cord they use to plug into the console, which plugs into the bottom of a Wii Remote.
@@derektereve286 if you have the Ninja switch online membership then you can get the NES and SNES controllers but you need the expansion pack which cost as much as a family membership to be able to get the N64 controller I think
@@derektereve286 it's a monthly or annual membership that Nintendo provides but you have to have a Nintendo account to be able to get a online membership I have mine set for annual and it doesn't renew automatically but the membership is mainly used for online usage so you can play games with other users
If you load the emulators with standard controllers nothing special…but if you load the emulators with the compatible nes, snes, Genesis, or n64 controller you’ll notice a few subtle Changes. 😉
I wish they would make gamecube controllers for the switch with a gamecube emulator on the switch online and more n64 games like the other super smash bros games.
got mine with the nintendo world championship game waiting for it i decided to buy japanese version as you get the nes famicom controllers lol getting it direct order from japan i am australian we miss out on decent products alot of stuff don't get released here i wish nintendo would have every game made with translated option especially for japanese games or at least list what games have english
I tried this before and i dont believe it was specifically built in, the console just sees the dpad, A, and B with the other buttons being mapped to others. The B to suspend is likely just the game running a function like "press (show button on current controls) to suspend".
i wasn’t surprised that it clicked in, i was surprised that the NES software had a retro mode that was activated by the controllers. stuff like this is fun to me 🤷🏻♂️
When he held it from one side my anxiety went high cause I always get scared about the joy cons loosening or the actually holding area will on my switch haha
Go back to the 90s and show this to somebody, watch them lose their minds.
The 80s
idk man i think someone from the middle ages would be a little more surprised
@@johnbasketball2012 true, but imagine a caveman seeing this
@@johnbasketball2012 Eh, if anything they'd just think you're a witch then tie you to a pole or something.
@@johnbasketball2012brother they would be confused not surprised lol
That would be so sick if it worked sideways. Get rid of the joy con on the top and change the screen to be vertical. Absolute perfection
it’d be like an arcade-style switch at that point, i’d be way into it
Why not just use the single controller on table top mode?
I don’t think it’d feel well, switch seems topheavy
The Atari Lynx and Wonderswan had that feature for some games, it'd be cool to see it return on a modern mainstream system
If only it had the extra two face buttons the snes had, then it’d practically be a DS
“What the heck it just… upgraded”
Switch: *proceeds to go into retro mode”
Nice trick tho keep it up
😂😂 in hindsight it is indeed more of a throwback mode
its a game on the nintendo switch

"I wonder if they work like this" proceeds to grab one controller while the Switch has two controllers attached lmao
if it worked upright like that, i’d have lost my mind 🤣🤣
two player need someone to play on other side
I mean, games like Downwell do actually allow that when you go into Tate Mode

Did this guy discover the cure for the drift?
Wait............NO WAY

@@cachanilla1375there is a SNES Switch controller already
I never experienced drift on my JouCons. Ironically I only got it on third party Pro normal controllers oddly by PowerA.
When you held it from the side I was praying it didn’t snap 😭
@@JustJoshIsUnavailable so was i!
It would be cool if you were able to use them connected in vertical mode
Even tho this is late: They should make a dpad joycon like that but with four face buttons and rounded corners.
an official NES themed joycon would be solid!
That's the super nintendo controller
@@Maynards_so_blueI know. I just think the joycons kind of suck
Works with Tetris 99 too
/saw the the controller
Me: Wow that's nostalgic 😁
/insert it on the switch

Imagine if Nintendo made SMS controllers for the Switch when they added SMS games to the Expansion Pack.
that’s a great idea! I would’ve loved that, and now it feels weird that they aren’t doing it.
That would be cool if you could use one NES controller and hold it vertically then you could play some TATE mode arcade classics.
You can even do one each. NES on one side and Joy Con on the other.
the frankenswitch!
Nobody talking about the informational graphic of a sideways NES controller...
that’s honestly the part that blew my mind. they really didn’t miss a beat 😂
Also, this makes entering cheat code of Raid 2020 easier, because you have to use both of the controllers to enter
It’s just the version that is in the Nintendo on-line shop
They should’ve made a 2 player pong or Mario bros battle style game for this setup.
Friend:dude where your joycon
Me:oh there right here
Friend:that not a joycon
Me: I know
Edit: I didn't expect to get this many like
it’s a joycon for cultured gamers 🧐🤣
Me:that not a grammar
It would be cooler if it made the little jingle when you put in a game on the famicom/NES
All the classic controllers do that. My SNES one turns the interface grey lavender and purple and adopts the snes font
That’s pretty awesome!
what about the n64 one
I want it mainly for the DPAD
famicom controllers work like this too
that’s awesome. these have the nostalgia for me but i really want a pair of those too!
I want to show this vid to people in the 80's and tell them this is what video games evolved to in the 2020's... *just to troll them.*
Someone needs to make this happen! 😂😂
Button lay out on the right controller looks inconvenient. Can you use both an NES controller and a regular joycon at once?
interesting idea! I'll try it out
Nintendo switch In 1985 💀
I remember when I got my nes for Xmas and was like wow looks these graphics 😂
@@anthonyroberts6839 "is that a real plumber???"

Doing 2 player will be playing like old times
Only serial killers play nes online games like this.
@@samdog7534 all i'm hearing is that i should try this setup with NWC NES Edition
What happens when you try playing smash bros with it
You can only taunt, pause, jab, and use neutral b
Should have made some games that are “head to head” like that
i'd have loved a modified version of mario bros versus or something that works in that mode

i wish they were customized joycons. i’m only a novice at soldering, so such a mod would imply more skill than i have
@@danomak oh wait I'm dumb, it's one of the switch online controllers. lol I thought you meant it was a controller for the NES Classic

The nes controllers have the joycon rails on

is an another custom controller.... but is so awensome
this is an official one! 😄
to me this is terrible, i prefer the normal way to hold
Yeah, it's not very comfortable this way! i just can't believe it works like that 😅
I wish they would make gamecube controllers for the switch with a gamecube emulator on the switch online and more n64 games like the other super smash bros games.
There never going to release ssb64 on NSO because it would be the alternative to buying ultimate and they want you to pay 60 dollars for it
they are literal joy cons…. what did u expect
i didn't expect it to work vertical like that is all 😅
Hmmm I wonder if the SNES looks any cooler
i’ve been wondering that myself 🤔🤔
Regular Nintendo controllers don't have that adapter. Clearly this is custom
custom, but official! nintendo released switch-specific NES controllers for use with the classic console service
Seeing those nes controllers connected to the switch like that. What the fuck was nintendo thinking?
I thought everyone knew this BECAUSE IT LITERALLY HAS THE CONNECTION THINGS
I mean i knew it could charge on the switch but i didn’t know this silly config was possible 😂
Thing is I still have those classic controllers from those "mini" consoles from 2018. All I had to buy was a special adapter for it.
This is weird, this happened to me in handheld mode with normal red and blue joy cons. I wonder how that happened
that’s cool, maybe there’s a way to trigger it now
Yea, maybe I was so oblivious I thought it was apart of the game boy advance and gameboy nso
The dude just used the joycons modeled after the nes controller
looking back, all these features are listed on their store page 😅
Nintendo would probably find a way to make the D-pad drift
😂
play splatoon with it

Will it work yes it does
way better than i imagined it would
Do these work without Nintendo switch online? I keep seeing things that say they don't and I just want to make sure.
i got real mixed results in my tests. They “work” but the only games you can really play are the ones in NSO
well yeah surpise..thats what they made for
It looks like a Mini TV with Mini Speakers
Instant d-pad
Use them like that to play mario oddesy

yeah it’s kinda weird, i have no idea why they limit selling these like this. Nintendo’s weird 😅
Why people would be surprised for something obviously designed for this is beyond me. It's got fudgin rails on it come on guy...

there SNES one available as well
It's still goofy, uncomfortable and pointless
Makes me wonder if it works in Tate mode for shmups

i only just got the nes classic controllers, so i hadn’t tested it prior!
I wish classic is in full screen
I wonder if I can use this Nintendo switch cartridge on the Nintendo switch, omg guys it works it’s built in the system

When your switch grew some tumors from playing too many NES games
How did you add the... rail things to the sides of the classic controllers? Did you rewire them or something?
