I just got this adapter today and it works like a charm in my Audi a6 Avant 1.8t Quattro -01. No problems with anything and shows all the info it should when i use the torque app.
+redman306, Thanks for posting this. I have a 2003 2.7 A6 Quattro, and have spent hours looking for an ODB II adaptor that I could be confident would work in it.
For anyone who doubts the usefulness of this in court, I would like to remind you that the app displays information based on an average of the data provided by GPS, Accelerometer, and information direct from the vehicle's on-board computer through the OBD2 reader. Various settings can be changed in-app to ignore certain information, making it entirely possible to track the vehicle's speed as recorded and displayed by the OBC exclusively. Seeing as most cars can only display information received and calculated in the OBC, this app basically does what your dashboard cluster does--display vehicle status information (eg: speed, revs, gear, etcetera)--just with an additional record feature. Remember, kids... Never doubt the potential for technology to save you when you are in trouble, just don't rely on it to save you when you aren't innocent; because mathematics don't lie, and code is VERY consistent in its calculations.

i have had this app for years. love it. it gives me the same codes and stuff my friends red brick does. i dont have to go to his house when my check engine light goes on. i call that a win for a $5 app even though i had to buy the adapter. the heat will not cause any problems. i have had mine connected since the day i bought it years ago and it still works perfect.
I bought this unit first but it didn't work on Ford (Ranger 2005 FX4). Sent it back and got the bigger one (the one with the yellow/blue label). Using Torque Pro; works great.
Thanks for the video. I just purchased the same BT Adapter through Amazon. It works fine switching between my Insight and my wife's Kia. The OBD2 plug must be within 3 feet of the steering wheel and not covered. (It's in the standard) It should be easy for anyone to find.
This is a good cheap OBDII Bluetooth adapter. I bought in on AliExpress for $5 (with free shipping LOL) and it works just fine with my device (LG Optimus G). It got detected and paired just fine with my Android phone. It also got easily recognized by Torque Pro app for Android. By the way, the Torque Pro version worths every cent spent on it. It has decent speed (PIDs/s) and low delay, might be one of the best cheap ELM327 clones. The default PIN to pair with your phones is 1234.
+John Doe Hey, I also got mine from AliExpress, but the adapter won't work on my Honda Civic 2004 (it keeps disconnecting after the initial scanning). Whereas; I tried it on a friend's Toyota Corolla 2011 and it was working fine.
Hey I drive a 2005 Mazda 6 2.3L. Just going to set up my car profile on the app and was wondering if you have all the details of our car so that I can put it in so my app will have an accurate reading of my car.
you can leave it in the car 24/7.. heat wont hurt it.. not heat from sunlight.. think about it.. your car has dozens of circuit boards in it.. from the radio to modules, to the ecm... electronic components can handle 150-200 degrees all day long.. solder melts at ~400 degrees.. not gonna get that hot.. i'm in texas too.. leave it in the car.. if you want to

Need a little help here.At 7:54 you say that the app uses phone's GPS and accelerometer to get relevant data. Can accelerometer data from smartphone be considered reliable because it's not fixed to the car's frame and might itself move around during acceleration/deceleration.
your load is calculated at current engine speed and power production potential which was idle therefore it was high in the 25-30s. thanks for making the video bro ill be getting this app. i was looking for a easy way to see actual coolant temp value that the ecu is seeing vs using the gauge and ignition oe ignition timing under different engine loads. this is a great way to learn to tune a car if you are getting into that type of stuff!
Dude absolutely amazing video, so informative and helpful. I downloaded the torque app you said and I ordered the connector ELM327 and it has turned up and looks exactly like your one so fingers crossed it'll work like your one too ;) Thank you very much again mate for the excellent video and I have subscribed and will tell friends about you.
I have a problem. When I plug ELM327 mini to the car (Toyota Auris 2010), after while the car reports on the dashboard "check abs" and it never pairs the phone (Samsung S2 Cyanogenmod 10.2). Bluetooth is paired. Please help.
just wanted to say i really enjoy your reviews, keep them up! all your replys are very formal and nice, helpful as well really appreciate that in a youtuber. KEEP EM COMING!
Bought my scanner off ebay for 6.95 I'm using the free version until I figure it all out then moving to the pro and it will be soon. Thanks for the video lots of good information.
What is the difference between something like this that connects to a phone and one of those pricey tablet diagnostic tools? Like say the Launch X-431 Pro? Do they both do the same job? Or one does it better with more features? If so what are they?
The elm 327 scanner will absolutely work on 1996 and new cars!! ESPECIALLY GM! Go into the settings of the torque app and you will se a option that says tick this if having trouble communicating! Also when you turn on blue tooth on phone make sure you click on make phone visible to all devices. And finally plug in OBD11 device turn ignition to the run position but do not start then scan for devices. It always comes down to operator error. And the pin code is printed on the scan device. Which I have only seen 1234 on the ELM DEVICES. Oh and also in torque settings make sure it is set for blush Tooth communication not WIFI. And yes it will work on the mustang.

The BLUE ELM327 adapter in your video is the same imported Asian one I purchased from Hong Kong. It would ONLY connect to 1 of 6 vehicles, which was a 2002 Kia Sportage. I took the adapter apart, and it is missing the J1850 bus pins. This means that there is a huge gap in compatibility with American vehicles because J1850 is vastly used in many, many American vehicles. I don't think this was intentional but rather a mass produced product that made its way out to America.
Can I just solder in the pins on the pcb? Edit: I took mine apart (easy to do by just prying the sides open and pulling up on the connector. Snaps back in when you want to put it back together ) and you cannot add the pins to the pcb. Only pins 4,5,6,7,8,14,15,16 were connected.Pins 2,10 are needed for J1850. Should be easy enough to check your adapter by looking if pin 2 is present the adapter case is transparent and you can see the pins connected to the pcb. The model number of the adapter that was printed on the package is ZJ07300 Pin 2 - J1850 Bus+ Pin 4 - Chassis Ground Pin 5 - Signal Ground Pin 6 - CAN High (J-2284) Pin 7 - ISO 9141-2 K Line Pin 10 - J1850 Bus Pin 14 - CAN Low (J-2284) Pin 15 - ISO 9141-2 L Line Pin 16 - Battery Power
I thought about that. But the main part of the device is the chip that communicates witth different protocols. Unless you manage to solder the chip in with the pins.
Didn't want this post to get buried I took mine apart (easy to do by just prying the sides open and pulling up on the connector. Mine pairs with my phone, but doesn't connect with the car. Just the red light shows up on the device. Meanwhile, on my phone it says "checking protocols", then "checking proto: automatic" and then times out after a minute. The car is 01 pontiac grand prix. My phone is samsung note 2 running droid v4.4.2 kitkat, with the free version of the torque app
I just tried setting mine up and have the same problem. I am using the Torque lite version but don't think that is the reason. Phone is a HTC One as in the video. Do update if you find a solution.
kevtan72 Does yours say "Checking Proto: Automatic Search" and then crap-out? I've done a little research, and turns out the protocol may need to be entered manually. I believe this can be done with torque pro, or by rooting your phone. Ironically enough, I rooted my note a few weeks ago, and now I figure it's time to test it out. I'll keep you in the loop if I solve this quandary.
Jack Duno Thanks for the suggestions. I've since downloaded the pro version and it still didn't work. I then tried using it on another car (Honda) and it worked fine. I also tried it on a Kia Rio and also no problems connecting with the car. So I'm guessing that it just can't read my car, which is a Suzuki Swift Sport. I'll try checking if there are any manual settings for the swift. Hopefully I can get it to work too.
kevtan72 Hmm, well then, I'm very confused as to why it's still not working in my car(s). I've downloaded the pro version, and retired in the Pontiac, with no luck. Then I tried in the 06 Buick, and still the same thing. Maybe my obd scanner hates me?.. or the more logical reason being it has trouble with GM vehicles. The obd should pickup on the GM protocol: SAE1850VPW (I think there might be "J" in there somewhere) Thanks for telling me yours worked. I'm going to try it in my friends nissan, and see if that works.
Just bought one of these units. Should be in within the next few days. Realize now that the one I bought does not say ELM on it but looks exactly the same. And now I'm seeing some negative reviews and I'm a little concerned. In your experience with this product, can it damage my 2012 Chevy sonics ECU in any way.
hi, as with other elm327s it wont seem to work, i ve followed your instructions to the last letter, in torque it pairs and flashes away but wont connect to the ecu.the blue car on symbol just keeps flashing. what is wrong?? i have a ford focus estate 2003. please can you help.
Hi i have ELM-327 mini OBD like in video and dont see my ESU in the car peugeot 206 mod 1999 1400cc 8v. Then i go to conect in my citroen c3 1.100cc mod 2005 and work fine. What happent and why dont see ESU in peugeot any opinion ? ·
Savvas Papaioannou Some french cars only work with Lexia (for citroen) of Proxia (Peugeot). I have Citroen C5 and no bluetooth scanner works with it. You mean ECU right ?
this one is better! you can try! www.amazon.com/JDiag-FasLink-M1-Consumption-Accelerate/dp/B075GP2B4B/ref=sr_1_6?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1517414377&sr=1-6&keywords=bluetooth+car+code+reader
Very helpful review. I rather work on my own cars. Don't trust mechanics too well. This will give me that edge up on keeping my baby running and feeling good. Have a good one.
I have the same interface. My phone can see the unit, but when I go into Torque, the little car icon keeps flashing, never locks. Using it in my 04 Corolla. Any advise would be grateful. (I have tried it in my 15 Camry and 02 Vette, with this same issue, falshing car icon). Regards
That lag would make the "track" mode utterly useless since the recording would be true real time(ie hitting an apex on a hard turn) and the lagging data would be a split sec behind what's being recorded. Exact values at exact times in the video are impossible due to that lag despite that function looking like its capable of that.
there isn't a way to make this compatible with your factory speakers is there? I'm replacing my factory radio with a nexus 7 and plan on using this with it in my RX8, worst case scenario i'm just going to re-wire my factory speakers to a low poer amp and run an AUX Y cable to the nexus for audio, but it would be nice to do it through bluetooth instead *Nexus 7 is running the SlimKat AutoDroid rom btw
Hi. My car dosen't have a trip computer so I cannot get real time information about consumption and so on. Can I leave this OBD adapter plugged in all the time, so I can have information on my smartphone while I am driving? Is it possible?
Is that bluetooth device good to go, on to any diagnostics on any car, will it fit a seat 2001 Or do I need to get a different one? Would Appreciate your help
how do you check how long since it was last cleared codes? (getting a used car, might want to know how long since they cleared code if there were any codes) oh and can you unplug Bluetooth obd2 while car is moving?
The key needs to be in the on position to read error codes and fluid levels. The engine needs to be running to get real time information such as RPM, throttle position, intake temperature, engine temperature, coolant temperature, air/fuel mixture, fuel flow rate, intake manifold pressure, ignition timing, etc. Yeah, cars are complex.
Video was cool , aside the "contesting a moving violation" section. And if You are averaging 27 and change in mpg on a Mazda 6...I feel great about getting 29 and change out of My '06 Taurus 3.0l.
u ever heared of the blue elm 327..causing the ABS and Airbag light to go on?.. if i plug it, turn the key..my lights go on.. if i turn key..and plug the OBD no lights go on...? why's that?
Hey i just wanna ask if that adapter can work on a truck cause truck uses 24 volt as cars use 12 volts so i just wanna know if it would work on a truck, that adapter i afraid to fry it cause i use it on a car is ok but i dont know would it work on a truck Please Reply me as fast as possible i need to know cause if i plug into my dads truck i afraid it will fry the ECU
I can't get mine to connect to my 2007 wrx. I'm using a android head unit Iv downloaded both torque pro and dashcommander but it keeps saying no interface what one do I use Iv tried them all
am planning on buying a used car, I cannot read the odometer because the LCD screen showing it is broken. Is there a way I can know the odometer reading using this App?
Just bought one of these and I think it's defective! My phone can't find it when I do a bluetooth scan, I saw multiple lights on the device when I first plugged it into the 2004 Mazda 6, solid red light is on after that. Any thoughts?
can you try this with an application called "dash" ? it's kind of like torque but much more modern looking. I want to buy an obd but I want to use that app and im not sure if it'll work
hey do you have a link or name of the seller of the elm327 chip because already bought 6 on ebay and amazon and found good one all they fake snd not connect with the computer of the car
+Peter Mckenzie No sir, just pop it in and it gives you raw data. The only reason you would need to set up a profile is if you want to get accurate mpg, it asks you to input your car weight, tire size, model size and a bunch of other stuff to give you tailored info.
I am in school becoming a mechanic and i work at a shop and know many great mechanics in the trade. When we scan a car the scanners we use can display much more than that little device. Sure i own and sometimes use a handheld OBD scanner (over 100$ not 10$) and it gives you a quick diagnosis but a proper scanner can look up many mroe error codes. For example that will not read an ABS or Airbag code, not many do that are sold. Ones that do are very pricey and deff not off your phone so if we say there is a code and you come and say that we are scamming you just think if its so easy to diagnose a car and know the problems with a little Bluetooth app why spend thousands on scan tools. We have a bad rep of ripping people off but in all honesty in all my time in the trade its been very few and far scams ive seen so watch how you point the finger
I bought this device about 3 months ago and have been using it with an Android app called CaRPM. It does the same thing as Torque, but the UI is a lot cleaner and maintains my driving history better. Rather new compared to Torque, but suits me well! You can download the app here: play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zymbia.carpm
I had the longer version one for my mazda 3 and my mom's mazda 6, both work wonderfully. But now i'm about to get a VW passat, have you tried it on other brand vehicles? I have heard VAG has some brand specific code that Torque is still working on... not showing them at all? or just can't show proper definition?
will this work with an android phone that works but that is not activated with a cellular service? I have a spare phone that works and use to surf the net at home via my home wireless network. will the torque app work with this phone or does the phone need to be connected to the internet via a cellular service company such as verizon etc. thanks
germanshepherd13 Yep it will, but you need gps for the speed function etc. Please be careful with ordering an elm327, as there are bad copies. I just got one muself, and it is the 2.1 version, which has connection problems, and can supposedly cause problems.
+brandon henderson It seems to vary by car - on my Polo it's permanently powered which is actually a little annoying as I don't want to impact my battery. Best to Google it and check! :)
my app is telling me there are no fault codes but my airbag light is on since I disconnected it a few weeks ago when working on the car. the car is an audi a6 2012. what should I do?
+Slisktord Hey man, if you're pretty confident that you plugged the airbag connector in properly I'd try disconnecting the cables from your battery for a minimum of 10 min to reset the cars computer and hopefully it detects that it's plugged in after that.
+AndroidUnite i can't simply do so in a car this new. they will have to reprogramme the new battery and that would cost more to have done than just tell them to reset airbag light ;/ damn, new cars sucks
Wait what?!? What car do you have? You're telling me if your battery died and you went to AutoZone to buy a replacement you'd also have to take it to the dealership to have the car computer reprogrammed?
great video thanks for thatdo you know if it will work with my 2002 bmwe46 diesel?or my 2004 SL350 R230 Merc ?are the diagnostics a complete as a dedicated diagnostic fault finder do you knowthanks in advance :)
Just want to ask has anyone tried the adapter on a diesel car, in particular Mercedes after 2004 models ?? I read some reviews that the adaptors don't work on Diesels, just wanting to confirm it with you guys before putting money on it
why does my Torque pro not show any fuel related things? i mean it shows them but it cant be calculated like how much fuel there is left and such, all other stuff works tho how come?
+Allan Traughber One of the other comments mentioned an app called CARPC that seems to have a nicer UI. I'll probably be redoing this video in the next week or so and am considering using that app instead. Keep an eye out for it.
Phil Bernard Phil, seriously, think about it, if you have an actual rod knock how is clearing a code going to repair a failing bearing. It would be nice to work that magic...but sorry Phil, there is no Santa..... :/
I need some help, I just got mine in the mail but its not working, I plug it in, I bought the app, I plug it to the car, but its working, it says not connected to ECU..??? and NOT CONNECTED TO OBD INTERFACE..? CONNECT AND TRY AGAIN.? Please some1 help. I have a 01 Nissan Maxima
Tnx for the vid. Was really helpful. Going to get me one of those things. It's so cool that you can check/reset codes but do so much more as well with the app. Tnx also for the 'do not install the software' tip.
the "malware" when you install the application from the cd is not virus. Its just applications that are used to unlock the locked version of the application Torque. Once you install the app, you can remove the key-gen and other file and run a quick windows scan or antivirus scan. Thanks for the video though.
Awesome video & info. I was getting ready to spend $200 on a scanner with the touch interface. I'll definitely by the pro version of the app and I just ordered the ELM327 from amazon.
Hey, thanks for the video. I'm in Richardson, just north of you in Dallas. Great video. Now I know what to get for my Miata. And I agree about the cops. I ONLY get speeding tix along I-35. Gah! Thanks for the video. Liked and saved.
Just so you know just because your car doesn't have any check engine codes doesn't mean it doesn't have any problems. There are many things on a car not controlled or monitored by the computer. Also sensors can fail and not throw any codes. And last but not least these app is pretty handy but trust me it's nothing compared to what a pro mechanic has at his shop. They have scan tools worth thousands of dollars that give them way more information an data that any app out there.
Thank You for doing this video!!!!! i never knew it worked that good, im now going to buy the adapter. oh and the adapter is 12.99 without shipping but thanks again
+Jerone Duncombe Yes sir, sorry for the late response. I'm actually redoing this video in the next week or so possibly with a different app than TorquePro so keep an eye out for it. Funny story my Mazda actually had the check engine light right before my inspection expired and I used this with the app to pass the inspection. I'll explain more in the video so keep an eye out and subscribe if you haven't already.
+AndroidUnite lol good stuff, yeah so far I love the app and now all my friends think I have a talking car because she said through Bluetooth of car speakers "engine is at operating temperature" the app and the device ate working well with my phone.

I have one of these with Torque Pro. It is a great setup. If you don't own this you should buy it now.
How did u set it up when you got it.....???... did u just plug it into the ecu
Plug it into the obdII port under the dash, turn on bluetooth on you phone or tablet, pair them, start the app on the device and follow the directions in the app

The model number of the adapter that was printed on the package is ZJ07300
Pin 2 - J1850 Bus+
Pin 4 - Chassis Ground
Pin 5 - Signal Ground
Pin 6 - CAN High (J-2284)
Pin 7 - ISO 9141-2 K Line
Pin 10 - J1850 Bus
Pin 14 - CAN Low (J-2284)
Pin 15 - ISO 9141-2 L Line
Pin 16 - Battery Power
I thought about that. But the main part of the device is the chip that communicates witth different protocols. Unless you manage to solder the chip in with the pins.
Didn't want this post to get buried

I'm going to try it in my friends nissan, and see if that works.
kevtan72 have you found one that works? I am looking to purchase one for a zc32 aswell
In the main menu, how do you change the gauge? Its current accel but I want revs. How do you change this?
·
Roger Skege thanks roger i thing is that thanks a lot bro
Savvas Papaioannou Some french cars only work with Lexia (for citroen) of Proxia (Peugeot). I have Citroen C5 and no bluetooth scanner works with it. You mean ECU right ?
TheMarty091 Yes ECU
TheMarty091 in citroen C3 mod 2005 works fine the ELM 327 is my wife car.
this one is better! you can try!

Very helpful review. I rather work on my own cars. Don't trust mechanics too well. This will give me that edge up on keeping my baby running and feeling good. Have a good one.
Does the real time show oil pressure? I seen everything but that in the video
does this one will show pending codes and does it with show each sensor reading voltage, reading in each cylinder ? if not mini OBD2 reader is $20
I have the same interface.
I'm replacing my factory radio with a nexus 7 and plan on using this with it in my RX8, worst case scenario i'm just going to re-wire my factory speakers to a low poer amp and run an AUX Y cable to the nexus for audio, but it would be nice to do it through bluetooth instead
*Nexus 7 is running the SlimKat AutoDroid rom btw
Hi. My car dosen't have a trip computer so I cannot get real time information about consumption and so on. Can I leave this OBD adapter plugged in all the time, so I can have information on my smartphone while I am driving? Is it possible?
Is that bluetooth device good to go, on to any diagnostics on any car, will it fit a seat 2001
Or do I need to get a different one? Would
Appreciate your help
how do you check how long since it was last cleared codes? (getting a
used car, might want to know how long since they cleared code if there
were any codes) oh and can you unplug Bluetooth obd2 while car is moving?
Can you leave it plugged in all the time?
The key needs to be in the on position to read error codes and fluid levels. The engine needs to be running to get real time information such as RPM, throttle position, intake temperature, engine temperature, coolant temperature, air/fuel mixture, fuel flow rate, intake manifold pressure, ignition timing, etc.
Yeah, cars are complex.
Video was cool , aside the "contesting a moving violation" section.
And if You are averaging 27 and change in mpg on a Mazda 6...I feel great about getting 29 and change out of My '06 Taurus 3.0l.
u ever heared of the blue elm 327..causing the ABS and Airbag light to go on?..
if i plug it, turn the key..my lights go on..
if i turn key..and plug the OBD no lights go on...? why's that?
How many diagnostic parameters does this app cover. Air bags, antilock brakes or just engine.
Can I use it for my ford fiesta diesel 2007 . Or suggest me one which is compatible .
Hey i just wanna ask if that adapter can work on a truck cause truck uses 24 volt as cars use 12 volts so i just wanna know if it would work on a truck, that adapter i afraid to fry it cause i use it on a car is ok but i dont know would it work on a truck
Please Reply me as fast as possible i need to know cause if i plug into my dads truck i afraid it will fry the ECU
Silly question do you have to start the engine or just turn the key?
Just bought one of these and I think it's defective! My phone can't find it when I do a bluetooth scan, I saw multiple lights on the device when I first plugged it into the 2004 Mazda 6, solid red light is on after that. Any thoughts?
not compatible with honda fit 2005 from japan, right? because ive heard cars made for japan is m-obd and not obd-II
can you try this with an application called "dash" ? it's kind of like torque but much more modern looking. I want to buy an obd but I want to use that app and im not sure if it'll work
hey do you have a link or name of the seller of the elm327 chip because already bought 6 on ebay and amazon and found good one all they fake snd not connect with the computer of the car
do you need to set up a vehicle profile to use the torque app
+Peter Mckenzie No sir, just pop it in and it gives you raw data. The only reason you would need to set up a profile is if you want to get accurate mpg, it asks you to input your car weight, tire size, model size and a bunch of other stuff to give you tailored info.
Thank you
I am in school becoming a mechanic and i work at a shop and know many great mechanics in the trade.
+Soumya Sen woah, thanks brother, I was thinking of doing an update to this video and I'll definitely check out the app.
I just got one muself, and it is the 2.1 version, which has connection problems, and can supposedly cause problems.
does the car have to be running or can you just turn to the accessories switch?
That's a great question, I'll try it out and get back with you later today.
Thanks
+brandon henderson It seems to vary by car - on my Polo it's permanently powered which is actually a little annoying as I don't want to impact my battery. Best to Google it and check! :)
I have a faulty airbag dashboard light but this app did not recognise it, how can I remove it?
Does torque can read your abs and airbag fault code??
ABS, yes not share about air bag
One last thing. Make sure your fuse to the OBD11 port in the car is good! It is usually the same fuse as cigarette lighter fuse!
Can the ELM327 scan other control units like gearbox, abs etc?
my app is telling me there are no fault codes but my airbag light is on since I disconnected it a few weeks ago when working on the car. the car is an audi a6 2012. what should I do?
+AndroidUnite yep. audi a6 c7 (2012) man i miss my old school bmw :(
Sorry to hear that man, I have no clue how to turn it off then.
great video thanks for thatdo you know if it will work with my 2002 bmwe46 diesel?or my 2004 SL350 R230 Merc ?are the diagnostics a complete as a dedicated diagnostic fault finder do you knowthanks in advance :)
Just want to ask has anyone tried the adapter on a diesel car, in particular Mercedes after 2004 models ?? I read some reviews that the adaptors don't work on Diesels, just wanting to confirm it with you guys before putting money on it
they dont work nowhere or now and then..i have a petrol Audi and doesnt work either so..
I have an 08 R320 CDI, came here looking as well if this worked for a Benz AND for an iPhone. Guess I'll have to keep looking 😐

Does it work for Australian vehicles Ford 2008?
As a tech, I can truly admire this device.
+Cameron Miller (DarkWolfBlade) how does it compare to the bluedriver?
To be honest, I haven't used this yet. I hopefully will be able to soon enough.
is it possible to switch between metric and imperial, lets say I want see my cars kilometer per liter fuel consumption instead of miles per gallon.
Can you record with the track add on while the screen is off?
Does this work with 5.1.1 ? Also BMW and Chrysler?
you cant use accelerometer for speed. Either gps or OBD also gives speed data
why does my Torque pro not show any fuel related things? i mean it shows them but it cant be calculated like how much fuel there is left and such, all other stuff works tho how come?
do you know if using a OBD1 to OBD2 adaptor will work with that bluetooth dongle?
nice job on the video. does it show turbo boost and hp torque reading
+jason jeep thanks man, I'm honestly not sure about that.
Does the car have to be on when pluging the device?
can this be used with any kind of pc based software or does it have to be torque(pro)
+Allan Traughber One of the other comments mentioned an app called CARPC that seems to have a nicer UI. I'll probably be redoing this video in the next week or so and am considering using that app instead. Keep an eye out for it.
well I have had torgue for years and my buddy has a f150 06 I think I cleared his rod knock code , never came back
it works
Phil Bernard Phil, seriously, think about it, if you have an actual rod knock how is clearing a code going to repair a failing bearing. It would be nice to work that magic...but sorry Phil, there is no Santa..... :/
Is it necessary you have internet conection?
I need some help, I just got mine in the mail but its not working, I plug it in, I bought the app, I plug it to the car, but its working, it says not connected to ECU..??? and NOT CONNECTED TO OBD INTERFACE..? CONNECT AND TRY AGAIN.? Please some1 help. I have a 01 Nissan Maxima
Mag Med i have the same problen in my nissan altima 06
Tnx for the vid. Was really helpful. Going to get me one of those things. It's so cool that you can check/reset codes but do so much more as well with the app. Tnx also for the 'do not install the software' tip.
Thank you for posting. VERY useful in choosing a code reader. Going to Amazon now to purchase this ELM 327 Mini.
Can you tell me what theme you are using here?
Great video dude. Very detailed information. Keep up the good work. Watching this video has made me have a better understanding of my obd ll system.
Can you use torque pro in landscape mode on your android phone?
Are there any of these that can be used with a laptop?
+Glen Harper Yes, Torque also has a Windows version. Works on Windows 7 as far as I know.
the "malware" when you install the application from the cd is not virus. Its just applications that are used to unlock the locked version of the application Torque. Once you install the app, you can remove the key-gen and other file and run a quick windows scan or antivirus scan. Thanks for the video though.
One question, can u record in Full HD with the Track Recorder plugin with your HTC One?
I have latest version and only HD is supported :(
How do u get that apps sir? that customized? thanks
Google Play Store
Hi
I'd like to know if there can take DPF regeneration on BMW?
I need more information about OBD2.OBD2 can use for vehicles from year of manufacture including .guide me. thank you
I have a citroen xantia 1.8 i 16v 1996 can this thing match on my car?
does this work on a laptop with windows 8? Do I need anything besides the scanner to get started
i have one v1.5 but torque pro dont connect with ECU! Whats happen?
Beste regards
You said phone a few times but it will work on an Android Tablet, correct?
Thank You for doing this video!!!!! i never knew it worked that good, im now going to buy the adapter. oh and the adapter is 12.99 without shipping but thanks again
+Jerone Duncombe Yes sir, sorry for the late response. I'm actually redoing this video in the next week or so possibly with a different app than TorquePro so keep an eye out for it. Funny story my Mazda actually had the check engine light right before my inspection expired and I used this with the app to pass the inspection. I'll explain more in the video so keep an eye out and subscribe if you haven't already.
+AndroidUnite lol good stuff, yeah so far I love the app and now all my friends think I have a talking car because she said through Bluetooth of car speakers "engine is at operating temperature" the app and the device ate working well with my phone.
it's copatible with ford focus 2007?
very informative review.i just got one but didnt have a clue of what to do
Not bad but this device cannot read error of Airbag....
it helps to find the key code and resset the car errors? pls rsp thx
i too want to know if there is an adapter for this device for my obd1?
