  • This is how to hide the pick in your hand when playing guitar. I have had a lot of people ask me how I do this and I thought I would share my particular technique on it.

    Hey Shane is that a Dawn of the Dead poster (the one with the word Zombie on it) under your right arm? I think it is a Spanish version poster...

      That's crazy. I watched the video as soon as I got the notification and the first thing I did was check comments to see if anyone won and it said you got it 45 minutes ago. Oh well. I'm not mad at you, maybe just a little jealous!

    I've done this for years, both using the side of the pick, and hiding it with my middle finger. I got the idea for hiding it, from Jerry Garcia. But the picking style I got from Trey Anastasio. I, funny enough, use the same picks! Have a good day!

    That's the thickest pick I've ever seen. I use 1.4mm a lot and thought that was thick. Do you use that for most of your playing?

    You do upstroke... but I notice on a lot of your lead licks you don’t upstroke. Interesting.

    • @intheblues
      @intheblues  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's probably like that through lack of proper teaching early on haha. 😂

    Someone actually asked you how you hold your Pick? what`s next how you hold your comb when you comb your ..uh.. oh.. ok... how you tie your shoes? Oh.. you wear boots.. ok... how you wipe your Ass? Jeez What happened to people? What will happen if there is suddenly no Internet to ask how to live your Life?

    • @intheblues
      @intheblues  6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      It was more about where does the pick go when you swap to fingerpicking. Some players can get it back out a whole lot quicker than others without losing time.

    • @landonbailey
      @landonbailey 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      can you do a video about how you hold your comb when you.... um wait no... video about how you tie your shoes. pleeeeease! :P

    not to be an ass but this is an extremely unnecessary video, i do the same thing and didn't realize it was a common thing to do, pretty sure most people could just have figured it out

    • @sirshadowplay7287
      @sirshadowplay7287 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      i know, I still feel like a beginner but if people are requesting it so much then it's clearly not unnecessary. keep up them vids tho love your channel

    • @intheblues
      @intheblues  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've had so many requests how to do this especially over the last 12 months. Not everyone has the same ability on guitar mate you need to keep that in mind with any tutorial or help video. :-)

      I'd always put it between my lips , But I played heavy metal for years so that type of technique wouldn't be as useful I use the pointy side of the pick & the round side depends on the tone i'm going for I like the Dunlop .88 Nylon & the 1.0 mm Nylon you can bend them to articulate the pick i.e. heavy pick to more movable end for strumming acoustic I roll it around from point to rounded but never thought to try & tuck it awaay like that brilliant move. Learn something everyday or we should be. Thx Shane.

      Maybe you knew, but not everyone does. Thanks for the video, mate.
