Any updates??? There is a lot of work to get this beautiful big old house to the way it was but it's going to be all worth it. I love the history you included in this video.
What a beautiful house! Can't wait to see all the renovations. Loved seeing the plans, It's great that you had access to old pictures and videos, and even your very own ghost. Waiting impatiently for more!
Please please please show more videos of your process. I find it so amazing to see the renovations step by step. I am in awe of your home! It is beautiful!
I've watched the video from your last house multiple times. I love old houses! This house is amazing!! So many details!! But the best part is you are Canadian!! Southern Ontario here, snow in April etc. Lol love the music and great video editing!! So excited for you to take us along your reno journey! XO
Hello neighbors! Thanks for showing us the interior. We are also bringing back to life our 1866 house in Richmond which was in need of major help when we bought it.
Lincrusta wallpaper, like in your dining room, is still available today. It can be painted of finished in a variety of other way, including to look like leather.
❤ yes, they do still have that available. Have it in my dining room and painted it burgundy at the time.Find a restoration catalog. They also have tin cealings for kitchens.
William-if you want to keep the original wallpaper in the dining room-take pictures of it and if possible try to remove a portion of it from the wall in one piece with a sample. There are many wallpaper companies who specialize in restoration and recreating vintage wallpapers and could make you a new wallpaper with the images and samples of your design. If anything-send it to someone so they can document it in their vintage wallpaper archives. Love the house and congrats on this new adventure!!
Totally love your video--the haunted house theme--and all. I really also enjoyed the photograph of the owner. He looks like he could be a total modern day hipster!
I've seen only a few other house with a sink in the hallway... it's used as a shaving station although I've never seen one out in the open... most of the time they are in linen closets or small nooks
Thank you for sharing your beautiful home. I love the research you have done to keep the history and integrity of the home. A fun idea for the wallpaper in your home is to have it framed. You can also use some of the beautiful wallpaper as matting for portraits of the original residence.
Loved your old house, and love this one too!! I'm here for your renovations and part 2 👀 Also, that pillow drop got me good haha. You fellas are going to make this a gorgeous home ♡
Your videos are so magical and captivating. I love that you researched the history of your house! I cant wait to see it when you have fully restored it.
Here is another helpful hint for building your garden. If you see a plant, tree or bush you like, bring some clippers and snip off abranch. Take it home. Wittle the stem at the end, dip it in honey and plant it in dirt. It sure is faster than growing seeds. You can find beautiful flora in parks or shopping areas or other public spaces. Or ask a neighbor for a snip of something they grow that you like.
keep clippers in your car when out in case you see a plant you like. Also, put an ad in classifieds in your town paper asking for vintage donations for fixing up an old victorian. You WIL get lots of free stuff.
I’m so happy to see you’re going to restore this beauty. There are so many old Victorian houses out there screaming to be restored to their original state.
I just found your site. I hope you’re alright, I don’t see any newer videos than 2 years ago. You’re probably busy renovating your beautiful home. We would love to see your progress, no matter how small it is.
I love old houses and am so happy to see young people who love them, too! You two have great style. Am waiting for the dollhouse tour! I have a Victorian dollhouse filled with my 1960 petite princess furniture from my childhood.
DREAM HOUSE!! I absolutely love this home, you are so blessed!! The woodwork is stunning; but I hate to see those beautiful pocket doors and trim painted white. I love it that you are going to remove the carpet and refinish those gorgeous wood floors! An old Victorian is my absolute dream home, you are incredibly blessed. I wish you a lifetime of happiness in your beautiful home. ❤️❤️
that's so cool that the family sent you photos and film. maybe you could throw a house/family reunion sometime! the ghosts might like to meet their descendants. ;-)
Cool house! It’s a time capsule, I love the dining room. You may find a source on duplicating the same pattern. Keep an old piece to frame! I hope it’s not haunted, unless the spirits throw a great party! 👻
I love watching old houses and that's how I came to the video about the house you just sold. Your new house is so beautiful with so much charm! I love that staircase too. I just bought a 1915 colonial and have been trying to find ways to restore it. It has two stain glass windows we believe were original to the house. I subscribed so I could continue to see how you renovate this beauty.
Beautiful wallpapering in the dining room you can always have a stencil made where you can put plaster on the stencil yourselves cheaper better if this is what you would choose
That's such a gorgeous house and I think it could not have come into more capable, talented hands. I'll look forward to seeing how amazing you will make it. You all have great ideas!
As far as the wallpaper, you can always save a sample and have these reproduced. It’s pretty expensive but would be worth restoring and keeping even as a replica to what original featured the home had.
What a beautiful house! It is amazing how much of the house's history you know - I loved learning about the original plans and the family that lived there. Looking forward to seeing your renos and hope there will be more historical tidbits along the way!
Thanks!! I think we researched the history of this house full time for at least two weeks😂 Knowing more, and what we could discover next was like a drug. I might do a more thorough video about the history of the house, I'm a fan of history and love it, but sometimes it's hard to know if I'm the only one or other people would be interested.
@@williammcneil389 I'm also a big history fan, I'd absolutely love a video like that! I think those stories are one of the most interesting things about old houses - to find out about their origins, and to see how they've changed over time. The old footage you have of the house is particularly amazing - what a rare and special thing!
Whoa. For a second there at the start it looked like someone was carrying fuel cans fixin' to burn the place down! Yeah, I'm dark like that... Beautiful home. You guys have a lot on your hands fixing this one up but I have faith in your excellent abilities. Looking forward to seeing more!
how lucky you are! and so glad you are retaining so much of the original features. Have you seen the show on tv (PBS) called Escape to the Chateau? She does some really cool things with old wall paper, might give you some ideas. for example photographing and making into tiles.
I want to find a Victorian to buy later this year. I have a huge Christmas Village collection that I would like to display on high shelves (almost to the ceiling) all over the house.
Any updates??? There is a lot of work to get this beautiful big old house to the way it was but it's going to be all worth it. I love the history you included in this video.
How I wish part two was made!! Hope all is well! Your home is beautiful
What a beautiful house! Can't wait to see all the renovations. Loved seeing the plans, It's great that you had access to old pictures and videos, and even your very own ghost. Waiting impatiently for more!
Thank you so much!! I can't believe how much documents we have original to the house, that makes me very happy... also our friendly ghost haha! ❤
Out of alllllllllllll the TH-camrs I resonate with your design style the most!!!! Please more!

Get the place rewired as a priority, it is stunningly fabulous,
Also, lead pipes for plumming and lead based paint? Neither are to be taken lightly. Safety first, style second.
